I made a spur of the moment decision to finally get my helix pierced. Robert was quick to respond and I was able to make an appointment same day. When I got there the place is clean and organized. ALL of the staff was so friendly and triple brownie points because my favorite band Brand New was playing. They also had on display the safe zone symbol for the LGBTQ+ community which I truly appreciate. Gives me a little more hope in humanity. They had me fill out a consent form and took a photo of my ID. There's a huge display full of different types of jewelry. Prices will vary depending on the type of jewelry you get but they're definitely not lacking in options. I ended up with the standard titanium studs. I had initially wanted to do a tragus piercing in my left ear and a helix in the other but the lovely Boge advised me to only have one ear done since I needed a free side to sleep on. So I ended up getting two helix piercings in my right ear because I was feeling extra spicy. Boge went into the back to prep the room and once I was called in it was like having a little chat with a friend. Boge is so friendly she doesn't leave any room for nervousness. We talked about Valentine's, her grandma, and puppies and it was like, "oh yeah I'm here to get poked." The poking didn't hurt at all. Maybe a little twinge of discomfort when she was putting in the jewelry but it all was so quick. I had a 6pm appointment, went into the back around 6:15, and I was out at 6:40. After the piercing she went over some after-care and I was also given a pamphlet with instructions and information. I also purchased a bottle of anti-microbial soap for cleaning which was $6. Overall it was a very good experience. I felt comfortable as soon as I walked in and I knew I was in good hands. The individuals that work and own JuL Head are always so positive. They have great customer service and it's a place I always go back to. I have gotten 5 piercings here throughout the years. Not only that but they have the best selection of jewelry. There is a style suitable for everyone here. The price for the jewelry is on the steeper side, but it's high quality fine jewelry. I wear mines everyday and it still looks new! Note: You have to make an appointment before visiting and pay a $25 deposit. However the deposit goes back into your purchase of jewelry. I've had piercings changed out here twice and I love how both times I've had female piercers. Their customer service is amazing as one piercers spent 20 minutes slowly removing a complicated piece of jewelry out of my nose. She was really gentle and knowledgeable about the aftercare I needed. They have a great jewelry selection. Pricing-wise, you can negotiate a bit if you pay in cash, but I find their prices to be on par with most other shops so nothing special there. It's been a year since I had this piercing, and I still love it. If I remember the piercing healed correctly and I could switch it up or downsize the bar length. I didn't want to switch out the piercing because I think I chose the perfect design that I would keep forever. The employees there are the best because they were so funny and they made me laugh, so I don't feel the pain. I had always seen this business come up while searching for piercing parlors in the area. I used to go to Anomaly in Pasadena but since they closed I have been bouncing around trying to find another shop I could trust and feel comfortable at. If I could give negative stars, I would, because this place is AWFUL for customer service. I got my conch done here back in March '21, and everything was going great...until it became inflamed. I was taking proper care and sleeping on a travel pillow, so I knew it must have been the sizing of my post. No problem! Easy enough to fix; I just needed to get back into the studio to have someone swap out my jewelry. I called several times when I noticed the issue and never got a callback. I figured this place is pretty popular--maybe they just hadn't gotten around to checking their voicemail. So, I made an appointment online while I was at work (for that day), paid my deposit, and finished my workday. My car ended up breaking down on my way to my appointment. I was stuck in the middle of Olympic at peak rush hour, frantically calling AAA and this place in intervals, trying to get a tow and trying to get someone from JuL Head to pick up to no avail. I ended up missing my appointment and a week later when I FINALLY got a hold of them through email, they informed me that I was more than welcome to set up another appointment but that my deposit was forefit. There are other, more professional, and actually ACCREDITED piercing places all over LA and Orange county--which reminds me, did you know that JuL Head isn't APP (Association of Professional Piercers) registered? This means that none of their piercers have training in first aid, CPR, current Bloodborne Pathogens training certificate, etc. Now while APP membership is by no means required for safe and professional piercers, wouldn't you feel better knowing you were getting serviced by a high-level professional who had to maintain certifications like the ones I mentioned? I don't know about you, but I will gladly spend a few more dollars to find better quality of care and service elsewhere, and when I intimated this to the rep I corresponded with via email, they basically gave me a "bye Felicia" and all but dismissed me, which is just so rude and unprofessional. I will be visiting another business in Anaheim from now on. One which is cheaper, accredited, AND responsive to its customers. read more

I have been to JuL Head for piercings four times now. Every single person who works here is super kind and friendly, has great taste, and makes you feel welcome and very comfortable. I've been here twice since the start of the pandemic, they are extremely clean and careful about limiting the number of people in the store and asking people to wait if they are at capacity. Everything is cleaned after being touched by a client and mask usage is enforced. I felt extremely safe coming in for a piercing. Kat is amazing. Pierces so quickly and smoothly. She's so sweet and gives her honest opinion about what is best both in terms of piercings as well as jewelry pieces. I had come in originally wanting a daith, but my ear is too small for it. She was honest and said it wouldn't be the best idea to pierce it, so we settled on a rook instead and it looks great! The first time I came in during COVID, I was just shopping but they happened to have a cancellation for a piercing, so they were kind enough to squeeze me in, despite having a full schedule for the rest of the night. I got my conch and upper lobe pierced, it's only been two weeks but they're healing so well and don't hurt at all. the BVLA jewelry is super high quality and very cute, I always end up buying way too many pieces because I have to have it all. They also autoclave your jewelry for you if you need, I had a couple pieces fall on the nasty floor and they were more than willing to clean it for me. Everyone there is super great about current COVID procedures: mandatory hand sanitizer when you walk in, temperature checks, and they also sanitize the entire workspace in between each session. Before your actual piercing session, or earrings, you'll have time to choose from a bunch of hand crafted BVLA earrings, all of which are super cute and timeless! I've been waiting for so long to get a second lobe piercing but was either unable to get it at some point to being unable to bother booking it! I've searched high and low finding the right place that I can confide in to get it done and I stumbled upon JuL Head here on Yelp and Instagram as well. I recommend calling them for an appointment, because I was going to do a walk in but I had a gut feeling it would be better to set up an appointment. I messaged Robert here on Yelp pretty late at night since it was a last minute decision and he told me to call the place for better availability times. There wasn't an opening on the day that I call right as they opened but there was one the next day on Sunday! I came in for my appointment was immediately greeted by Kat and Boge. Boge walked me through the jewelry selection they had and let me tell you, they have an AMAZING collection!! Boge was extremely sweet and hilarious to chat with and helped me pick out the best earring for my lobe piercing. Price: for 1 lobe piercing mines came out to $110. This includes jewelry and piercing. I had a great experience so i'm not complaining and I found it to be worth it! Parking: I read from another reviewer there was parking in the back? Dang, I forgot to check but it's okay since you can park off on the sides for 2 hrs. I parked about 3 minutes away from the location so I didn't mind the walk (: Kat was my piercer and she is so sweet as well! I love her and she was able to keep me calm and relaxed throughout the process since I've never had a piercing done by needle, only gun. I had no pain at all through the process, it was only a pinch that didn't hurt. Shocking, because I hate anything that requires a needle going in my body yet Kat made the process so quick and easy! Like she said "It's sort of anti-climatic in the end huh xD?" Post-work: They give you a pamphlet regarding the aftercare of your piercing, writing down what you got done, material of your piercing, your piercing, gauge size and the earliest change. Really handy little guide to keep. They also offer solutions to clean your piercing to purchase if needed; I got the H20 Sea Salt Spray! JuL Head has a great atmosphere and these two ladies made my day easily after having a rough start of my weekend. I highly recommend checking them out if you want to get a piercing or shop for the jewelry selection they have. I have had my fair share of going to many different piercing studios and this is my favorite one. I have gotten total of 8 piercings from them over the years. They are very consistent with their customer service and THEY ARE VERY CLEAN! Boge and Kat are so friendly, nice, and knowledgeable. They will make any nervous customer feel relaxed comfortable. Quick response in Yelp app, as written in their description. Called them for some information about getting an industrial piercing, scheduled an appt on the day of and had it scheduled an hour later. What a clean and professional setting! Beautiful displays of all the jewelry they sell and they were so professional and helpful. I walked in about 5-10 minutes before my appt and was helped immediately. Filled out the waiver and my info, had everything explained clearly to me. Felt perfectly comfortable. My piercer was Kat and she was lovely. Answered all my questions, even the ones about some of the other piercings I'd had done a month back which I was worried about. Gave me great suggestions about picking out a piece for my industrial, and helped me select a small hoop to replace a cartilage piercing that had been bothering me. During the piercing, the room was private and quiet. Kat kept me calm and answered all my nervous questions. Even helped me replace the aforementioned cartilage piercing. Checked in with me regularly to make sure I was OK. (Felt woozy from the pain afterwards and might have made an embarrassing blunder regarding payment because I was so distracted, but Kat took it in stride and I really appreciated it. Thank you for that!!) I'm so lucky to have struck gold at the first location I looked up for piercing. Definitely coming back in the future when I want more jewelry or want to get more piercings. Got second lobe piercings here that ended up being uneven. I'm very angry that I trusted them and all these positive reviews. Boge was the one that pierced my ears and she didn't seem very patient or reassuring either. The titanium that was supposedly "hypoallergenic" also ended up infecting my ears for a year after I got the piercing. It wasn't until I took the titanium out that my ears stopped getting infected/inflammed. Would never come back here and am so disappointed. read more

The best way to assess a business true demeanor is to see how they handle disagreements. The guy I spoke with on the phone was so immature that he hung up on me when we were trying to clarify a prior telephone conversation. So this review is solely on customer service, or lack thereof! In the end, it doesn't matter what was said b/c their policy states that a birth certificate is needed for minors getting a piercing (which I completely understand)- it's that I did not appreciate his entire demeanor where he told me that b/c I have a different last name than my daughter, the father with his passport would be sufficient without a birth certificate so I arranged for the father to be in attendance with his passport only to be told when I called back to make the appointment that I need a birth certificate as well. Clearly if he had initially stated that I always would have needed the birth certificate, my attendance and passport would have been sufficient- as I was trying to explain to him - and didn't need to bother making plans for the father to attend. But he claims he didn't tell me that and hangs up on me. If that's how you're going to handle a disagreement over the details about what was said on telephone call, who knows how he would have handled something more serious. Crisis averted. read more

I came here a couple of years ago for a new rook ring and Boge kindly switched my jewelry and cleaned up my piercing, which had previously given me a lot of trouble. Ever since, it has been in much better shape. More recently, I went to JuL Head for advice on what earrings to use in my very sensitive lobes. I thought buying gold coated stainless steel earrings online would work, but my ears got really sore and infected after wearing them. Robert helped me and was so, so friendly. I felt silly going in to ask about my boring lobe piercings, but I was so welcomed. I got certain piercings and they were cool but one of them the person piercing kinda did it without any warning which i understand if its someone who was anxious or idk maybe not even then. But there was no warning and she kinda went too deep so it kept getting infected. All of my piercings are pretty ok but now i have to let one heal and its just annoying because it hurts now. Best piercing place ever. Came here on Saturday to get my daith pierced. Making an appointment was super easy. When I got there, everybody who worked there was super friendly and attentive. They talked to me about their jewelry options and the pricing, which was nice. I went ahead and just got a simple hoop, which came out to be $50. They know what they're doing! I was super nervous about getting my daith pierced. I forgot who pierced me, but she was amazing. She helped calm my nerves and when I asked her how painful it would be, she didn't sugarcoat it. She described it exactly how it would be so it was expected. I'm not going to lie, it hurts, but everyone is different. I'm good with pain and have a high tolerance, but I have to say it really did hurt, but my piercer was super super fast though and the pain only lasted a couple of seconds. I've been to JuL Head a couple years back to buy earrings and get my ears re-pierced. It is such a friendly environment and the staff are very nice, funny, and VERY knowledgeable. Now for JuL Head due to COVID-19, they are requiring appointments and I really like that, because it shows how serious they are taking the safety precautions. I made an appointment online yesterday for today at 5:00pm. I had Boge, she is such a sweetheart and funny. I was stuck in a dilemma, because I had stretched my ears out in high school and missed wearing "regular earrings". Whenever I tried to wear diamond earrings or cross earrings, they would always slip out. I was debating between either getting my ears pierced in another spot or finding jewelry that would fit the size of my stretched ears. Boge was very helpful and gave me advice. She said I can either have my ears sewn up to get the "perfect spot" to have an earring in, on have another hole pierced, or find an earring that fits the size of my ear hole. She recommended getting a thicker gauge ring earring that would fit my earhole without having me get another ear piercing. I ended up settling for a pair of gold ring earrings and I loved them. I was very nervous and am very shy when it comes to talking to new people. But Boge made me feel very comfortable and I felt like I was talking to a friend, rather than a "stranger" who was going to help me with ear piercings. bad service bad experience When I went there for the first time, the service attitude of the girls was very good. I also recommended friends to patronize, but the service attitude of the boys is really bad. They are very hard when changing the ear studs, and they ask us for the service fee when they leave. When we visited before, another clerk didn't tell us that there was an extra charge. And my friends have never had the extra cost of changing ear studs before, so today I have to ask us for extra service charges.
