I got my tattoo here on Wednesday & I am so happy with the outcome. I met with Kat and she was really friendly, really nice and welcoming. We spoke through IG a couple times before the initial day and I already felt comfortable with her! Once I got there we went over a few stencil sizes & before you know it, she was already getting started. I want to say it took maybe about 20 minute from signing the paper to walking out the door. She was really professional, made sure to go over everything with me and she had a really gentle touch. Definitely want to come back and get some more ink with her. I'd been itching to get a new tattoo and finding Brien on Instagram during his apprenticeship at Ink Fiend was perfect timing. I hit him up, showed him what I had in mind, and made an appointment. Throughout the entire process, Brien was professional, super personable, and made me feel comfortable. I couldn't be happier with how my tattoo turned out! I started my first sleeve with Brandon, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. We went with a dragon and koi fish design, and from the very first consultation, Brandon really understood the vision I had in mind. Brandon made the whole process smooth and comfortable. He's not only incredibly talented with the needle, but also super professional, patient, and easy to talk to. His attention to detail, line work, and shading are next-level. You can tell he truly cares about his craft and takes pride in delivering high-quality work. The studio was clean, organized, and had a chill vibe that made it easy to relax during long sessions. I got a Foo Dog and dragon piece done by Ben at Inkfiend, and let me just say--this man is an artist in every sense of the word. I came in with a general idea and some reference pics, and he took it to a whole other level. The flow, the detail, the balance between the fierce Foo Dog and the dynamic dragon--it's next level. Ben's line work is clean, his shading is super smooth, and he has a crazy eye for detail. You can tell he really respects the art form and puts in the work to make sure everything is proportioned and powerful. The way he brought out the personality in both creatures while still making them blend as one cohesive piece is wild. On top of that, the shop is clean, professional, and welcoming. This review is long overdue. I had gotten a horrible tattoo done at another shop and after 4 painful sessions of laser the tattoo was still there. I found this gem of a studio online after doing my research. I reached out to the owner mastermike and he referred me to an artist that was perfect for the job. The awards on the wall with magazine covers and countless accolades speak for themselves. I now have a tattoo that I get compliments on every time I am in a swimsuit and the old tattoo does not even show a little. People are surprised when I tell them it was a cover up. Life changing experience and I recommend them to everyone looking for a tattoo read more

Appointments/ follow-up: The appointment process was easy. I did a walk in for consultation and was greeted upon entering. Prices were transparent and fully explained. I ended up choosing Richard as my artist. Reaching out to Richard was mostly done via text. Replies are usually within the hour as (could be in a session). Communication was excellent and thoughtfully explained. Depending on your budget, there are various skilled artists there for you to choose from. I can guarantee that everyone does awesome work and everyone has their own little unique personality when it comes to designing the work within any of the parameters you provide them. Design: I opted to give Richard free creative reign as I believe it's more about buying a piece of artwork than dictating exactly what I want. Of course I was open to suggestion and had a rough idea of what I wanted but you better believe that they will take your idea and run with it. I haven't had any negatives to critique about from all the sessions I've been there and also looking at the other artist's work in progress, they do really good work. You aren't just another customer or a person with a dollar sign on your back. Each piece that goes out of their shop represents their brand, effort, and soul. Parking/shop: Parking is a bit harder to do. It's mostly street parking in front of the store. I had to do quick refreshers on how to parallel park... not fun to refresh on the spot. There are signs that say parking is only for x number of hours but they are never enforced so don't need to worry in case you do see those signs. The store might be hard to find but if you look closely enough you'll see where the entrance is. The store is medium sized... I was a little intimidated going in as there were people sitting on the sofa and everyone else in the shop was heavily tattooed but as soon as I spoke up, everyone was really courteous and nice . Sessions: Usually the first session (mine was a full sleeve) the outline is done. From what I know, no numbing cream can be used... the numbing cream that they have is much better than the other brands that I have tried (for different applications) but theirs is by far better. You'll probably need them later on in the other session but (I'm weak sauce) or you can tough it out. They do recommend hustle butter but I never really liked that oily feel so I opted to use Mad Rabbit. This is purely a personal choice as I'm sure there are also many great other after care products. Maybe it was me or I'm just really weak sauce but each session felt more intense than the rest. As a curtesy I would bring a clean towel and deodorant so that you can clean and tidy up periodically. Environment: As everyone is doing their own work(clients) it's ok during breaks to take a look at the other people's work. (I had to take quite a few smoke breaks...no they weren't code for me trying to run and hide- though tempted) but everyone here treats you nicely. After a few sessions you really feel like family here - they treat you like family as well. If I had the ability I would do another session but... I can't take anymore pain so.. maybe in another life. Overall: I would totally recommend this place. You enter as a customer and you leave as family. They will take care of you. Hope to see you guys again but who knows when that will happen. Thank you Richard for your work on my sleeve. read more

My wife and I were looking for an artist to do a cover up on my wife's upper thigh area. It was important to both of us that we found an artist that we were comfortable with. That's when we found Felly aka felicityinkfiendart. She's personable, easy to convey what we wanted, and simply said blessed with so much talent The cover up turned out awesome! From there I've had a full arm sleeve done by Felly and currently getting a half leg sleeve. My wife has since started on a full outer leg sleeve done by Felly as well. In total we've been coming to Inkfiend for 2 years now and can't wait to see what pieces we'll be getting next. The vibe of the shop is awesome! I initially found out about Inkfiend Art Studio from Instagram. I chose Felicity because I saw all of her work through the reels. She was responsive and highly professional to make sure I was comfortable with what I wanted. She even did a last minute sketch for me because of my indecisiveness. I highly recommend coming here because everyone here is family oriented, respectful, and talented in their work of art. Their chose of music is also phenomenal. Along with other artists , Daryl was nice to kept me calm and asked if I wanted any water before the session. The other artists around were nice and greeted me with kindness. I've been coming here for years, been tattooed by Jay and Mike. I've been a fan of Mike's work since I was 18, and I still think his work is some of the best in the world. I'm 31 now and would love to get some more work done by Mike someday. I always felt like family every time I was in here to get work done, even though my body would feel beat the hell up after 8 hours of work lol. I'd recommend this place to anybody interested in the Inkfiend Art style. Been like 6 years since I've been back but I follow most of the artists here and love all their work. I had 2 tattoos done by Ben and I had the best experience both times. My second tattoo was huge and on my thigh and my pain tolerance was not high that day but Ben was very professional and patient with me. Where do I even begin. I met Mike about 18 years ago now and he's literally treated me like family since day 1. I'm really really particular with my stuff, and it's safe to say, he's one of the best Asian tattoo artists there is. Got a few pieces done, full touch ups, and I'll be back again soon for my last piece. Tattoos hurt, but I actually enjoy the whole session chatting it up w Mike and seeing him go through his process and work. Real stand up guy that creates crazy detailed art, just check his instagram. A friend of mine was visiting town and wanted to get a tattoo. Inkfiend Art has always been known as the go to spot for tattoos. I sent an email to Master Mike at 10:30pm last Saturday expecting to get a reply the next business day, but nope. He replied right away and connected me with an amazing artist. I was referred to Inkfiend Art Studio in Alhambra from a good friend of mine that I have known for almost 20 years. It all started with me being frustrated as I spent years of searching for the right place to get my tattoo by doing my home work by taking the time to read the reviews as they say, "The proof is in the pudding!". Being that I had envisioned this specific tatoo for almost 3 years and going through so many bad experiences I had to make sure it was the perfect place as I am a big believer that you get what you pay for. What is important to know is the friend that I asked NEVER refers anyone, unless they are the BEST OF THE BEST and like myself, he will not refer me to anyone unless they provide first class service. As I nonchalantly asked my friend if he knew of a good tattoo artist/professional I was assuming he would simply say fe did not. But I was wrong and I'm glad I asked as he said without doubt or hesitation and with confidence he said, "Master Mike!". I am so happy that I asked and extremely thankful that he referred to me to "Master Mike" at his place in Alhambra called Inkfiened Art Studio. Master Mike took the time to access what I wanted and due to my timing and his timing he set me up with Kevin and I'm glad he did! Kevin is awesome to say the least, he is a true professional and definitely on his A Game!! Kevin is a true professional and treated me as if I was VIP as he was attentive, organized and focused on making sure my tattoo was exactly what I envisioned and more. The final result was more than I ever expected as although my expectations were so high he surprisingly raised the bar! I highly recommend Kevin as well as anyone who is with Master Mike at Inkfiend Art Studio as he will only work with the best of the best! read more

Oh my god, thank you so much Steven. Preface: My friends and I were talking about a spontaneous tattoo and I jumped on the idea and started looking for shops that were open in the area. I found Inkfiend, amazing reviews and beautiful art I was in. My friends and I got there and I got so freaking nervous as I recently got over my fear of needles and pain after getting some piercings, but definitely felt like I was going to vomit. Thankfully, I didn't and Steven took the time to calm me down and really help me with my design and explain why certain adjustments to the design will keep it from looking funky as skin expands and changes. Steven was very knowledgeable and I really appreciated his thoroughness with cleaning and prepping his station and explaining everything. Didn't hurt really, not a stabbing pain but a dull sting. I can't thank Inkfiend enough for the professionalism and making my first tattoo experience amazing. I will definitely be back again when I'm in California. The reviews speak volumes of this Tattoo shop and they have trophies plastered across their walls because of their work, it's truly amazing. This is the 626 best tattoo art studio in LA county. Been coming here for years getting my body art done by few different artists. All the work is amazing get compliments from people. Wow, geez thank you your majesty Jess Yen, I am so blessed to get something I didn't want after watching you act out violently. Years later I decided to try again, this time with his apprentice Lucy. I had a phone consultation with her and she agreed to do my tattoo saying that her wait time is 2-3 years. I agreed and paid her a deposit. It's been more than 10 years now and I have not heard from her or gotten my deposit back. When I reached out to her, she tried to gaslight me saying that I missed my appointment. I was never informed of an appointment. First the owner display questionable emotional stability over something a little as resizing the stencil and then his apprentice scams me for a few hundred dollars. Yeah, this place gets negative stars if I could.

I wanted a tiger paired with specific florals (forget-me-nots, honeysuckle, and narcissus paperwhites) all kept above the elbow. Angie brought my vision to life more beautifully than I could have imagined. The process at Baron Art was seamless. After submitting a consultation form, I heard back within 1-2 days and coordinated everything with Cat (Angie's assistant) via email. Cat was wonderful, detailed, and quick to reply. On the day of my appointment, I received digital aftercare instructions after I checked in. Before starting, Angie was incredibly patient. She adjusted the tiger's scale on her iPad to match my arm and printed several stencils to ensure the size and placement was just right. She then freehanded the florals, precisely incorporating the negative space I requested to keep the design from feeling too heavy. Angie is incredibly talented and has a light touch. Even the pain in the inner bicep area was manageable. She made sure I was comfortable throughout the 4 hour session, and the result was perfect. This piece means so much to me and is very close to my heart, as it's a memorial for my mom who passed away recently. The forget-me-nots were her favorite flowers, and the narcissus paperwhites and honeysuckle are our birth flowers. The tiger was the first stuffed animal that my parents bought for me when we first immigrated to the US. It was my "guardian" throughout my childhood. Angie, thank you very much for your kindness and for creating such a meaningful, beautiful piece. This was the first of two sessions, and I already love it so much--I can't wait to see how it turns out! Some notes: - Snacks: I brought along Gatorade and was sipping on it before and during my session. I ate some candy and had a protein bar during the breaks too. It helped so much to keep my blood sugar up. - Vibe: So relaxing! The studio was spacious, and they were playing a throwback playlist from like the 2010s lol. I was vibing out and didn't even use the earbuds I brought! Everyone was so friendly too! Throughout the session, I noticed a couple artists stopped by to admire Angie's work as she was doing the tiger :) - Parking: parking in this location wasn't actually too bad. There's a structure about a 5 min walk away from the studio down the street. Just turn right into the little street where the Arrow Lodge Brewing is at. Go in a little bit, and it's on the left hand side. If you reach S Santa Fe Ave, you've gone too far!

June took such great care to cover up the scars I wanted covered and make it look beautiful and flow well with the natural curves of my leg, and made sure I was comfortable throughout. After she finished her work, she brought out the professional camera to get the best pictures possible and promptly sent them to me the same night. [PRE-CURSOR] I've thought about getting a tattoo sleeve for atleast a couple of years now. I was especially drawn to japanese style tattoos, so I did a ton of research and was initially going to go with an artist down in little tokyo... That was until, i ran into mike's work over at inkfiend. A buddy of mine had posted pictures online of a tattoo sleeve that he had gotten done by mike. The image had a watermark which led me to inkfiends website. I was instantly blown away by the level of detail that was present in mike's work. Although the style was very japanese inspired, it was not traditional japanese... inkfiend seemed to have their own swagger... and i loved that! Their were some personal matters that i needed to tend to before i could get my tattoo, so it wouldn't be till about almost a year later that i'd finally make my appointment and get work done. During that time, I followed the shops work as they'd update their website or myspace(s) with pictures of their recent clients. Initially i had plans to get work done with mike, but as the months went on, i noticed another artists' work caught my eye. More time passed and more work impressed me. The style was very much inkfiends, but this artist gave off a slightly different feel that seemed to suit my personality better. This artist of course, was ken. By no means am i discrediting mikes work, because i respect and appreciate his talent very much. Mikes style and detail is second to none, but i just felt like kens work spoke more to me as an individual. This is the reason why i chose him as my artist. With that being said, I went into the shop and talked to ken about setting up my appointment. I had two other buddies who were also interested in getting tattoos around the same time as me, so they also followed me to the shop. Even though they weren't necessarily looking to get asian-styled artwork, they were confident enough with the talent. One booked an appointment with ken as well, while the other booked his with mike. [THE EXPERIENCE] The shop is very friendly all around. Questions are handled properly without any snooty remarks, unlike some other shops. Me and my friends were all first timer's to tattoos and they were very friendly overall. The rates seem higher than some other shops, but you shouldn't be a cheap-ass about paying for this kind of quality. Especially when you're planning to have it on you for the rest of your life. Cheap tattoos aren't good, and good tattoos aren't cheap! I believe a couple of the apprentices there charge $50/hr. Ken charges $100/hr, and mike is at $150/hr. These prices of course, vary depending on what you're planning to get done. Sometimes they will even give you a set price depending on the size of the art you want. I've been keeping tabs on the apprentices' works and they seem to be improving as well. They've been doing some really tight things, so it looks like they're comin' up just fine. With that being said, you should really look at their books, and talk to the artists before you decide who you want to go with. Each have their own style (while still maintaining the inkfiend swag) so choose one that works best for you. Anyways, i ended up getting a 3/4 sleeve done on my left arm.I only have the outline finished so far, so i need to go back for maybe a couple of sessions. I'll try to write back after it's done, and maybe even include a picture. Both of my buddies that i mentioned earlier got their pieces completely finished in one sitting, and they love them. My girlfriend is actually going in next month for her appointment as well. Simply put: I am so positive about the work coming out of this shop, that i advocated it to 3 other people whom i care for very much. So far, two out of the three are happy.
