I ended up ordering a Berry Bliss smoothie and it cost $14.86 for what looked like a 16 oz drink. Unfortunately, it tasted bitter and was warm. Just a personal preference. I do want a little more ginger and beet. I just like the spice of ginger in general as well as more beet forward flavor. I usually judge a place by their beet centered juices and green juices. Will have to try their variation of their mean green as well as their other beer juice. I also ordered the tandoori Chicken bowl. I did ask them to augment it and they were considerate of my request. I added falafels and sweet potatoes instead of the tandoori chicken and brown rice. I came here for the first time after seeing this place for years. I got a "gyro bowl" with ground turkey, lettuce, kale, tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini, bell peppers, feta and rice. Not only did they forget to make my order (while I waited nearly 10 minutes, watching everyone else pick up theirs), when I opened my to-go container, the food looked less than appetizing. The zucchini and bell peppers were so over cooked, they were complete mush. The food itself was bland, and there was about 1/2 cup of liquid at the bottom of the container. Overall, the acai portion was tasty and they give you a good amount of toppings, but the price is a little steep for how much you get in comparison to other places. The blueberries were also on the smaller side. Compared to some other places that include granola, goji berries, nuts, or other nutritious ingredients, the variety of ingredients in Juicy Cafe bowls is quite limited. All in all, the bowl is a nice pick-me-up if you're in the area, but I wouldn't go out of my way for this since it's on the smaller side and I've had better. read more

I was randomly craving an acai bowl one morning and Yelp showed me this was the closest spot to me so I gave it a try and I was beyond pleased. This spot is on the second floor of the Columbia Tower and it looks pretty popular as there was a little line when i arrived. It was one of the best acai bowls i've had yet, and for $11, its not too outrageously priced. Even though the price tag is a little higher, it was very well worth it. The portion was great and the balance of flavors was very ideal while the ingredients were defintiely very fresh. I went for the Baja Cali Bowl as a salad (after reluctantly walking away from the taco place downstairs) 2with fresh spinach & added chicken. YUM!! Their ingredient proportions are perfect - just enough shredded cheese to make it taste cheesy but not heavy, generous guacamole portion - and everything is perfectly distribute when they toss it! I forgot to nix the jalapeños and having them in there didn't hurt a bit! (Side note: if you are a serious jalapeño-lover, maybe ask for some extra?) My only regret is not asking for a mini bowl ($6 !!!) instead of their normal size. It's not prominently advertised on their menu (but it is on their website). At 325kcal for the full bowl (plus however much the chicken is), it's not like I have any guilt about devouring the entire thing (which I obviously did), but I am definitely full. I also grabbed a Green Religion Juice (kale + spinach + celery + cucumber + lemon + ginger - 70kcal) which (and this is my fault) was a little TOO green for me (in my mind there was apple in it, in reality there is not). I have some cons with this biz, but enough pros that I keep coming back for their freshly made raw juices and the occasional lunch bowl. Over the course of a year my experience with their customer service has varied. I have received very friendly and good customer service, but also there were a couple of times when it wasn't so good and a little on the rude side. I think most recently it's been good. The juiced in front of you fresh raw juices are wonderful. They are pricey, but they are not diluted with ice cubes, so at least your getting a good amount of that raw goodness! I will say that different staff juice slightly different variations of the same namesake juices - I love the jalapeño verde, but find it always tastes slightly different because staff use slightly different amounts of the various vegetable and fruit ingredients. Today mine is missing the little kick of heat which I do enjoy from the jalapeño. They don't have any competition in the area, so they've got my business for the time being. read more

My favorite is anything with beets since I hate juicing those myself because of the staining. In particular, the Skin Beet Beet Beautiful is packed with beets, apples, carrots, lemon, spinach, kale, celery, and cucumber. I get a good amount of greens in addition to the sweet ingredients. If you're looking for a cleanse, they can help you with that as well. I've never done one here but tend to come over for a drink during the week since I work nearby. A great afternoon snack for me are the oat balls. They come in a variety of combinations and are very hearty. They have smaller ones at times. For instance, right now, they have smaller date balls which are a sweet treat. The bowls are good but can get expensive. The bowl base is reasonably priced. I enjoy the Coconut Mango Curry made up of warm coconut curry sauce over spinach, carrots, broccoli, cabbage, and cashews for $6.95. The portion is rather small but I like to add tofu (+1.50) and quinoa (+1). Service is friendly and staffing levels are always appropriate. However, because the juicers are loud, I have trouble hearing when they call out orders. But for the love of GOD, at least list it as an ingredient in your veggie blend (since it's listed separately on numerous other menu items) so poor suckers like me don't have to be subjected to it! All their drinks are good and if they don't taste all that great, drink it anyways knowing that they are good for you! My only issue with Juicy Café is their lack of consistency with their juice flavors. It appears that they have multiple part-time employees, so whenever I order a juice it always tastes different and looks different depending on who made it. My Hearty Pesto Bowl was definitely hearty AF. Brown rice, two eggs, spinach, carrots, cabbage, broccoli, cherry tomatoes - all topped with (overly salty) pesto. The Complete L+T smoothie (avocado, kale, blueberry, banana, carrot) was SO GOOOD - I was that obnoxious person slurping the very last bit of my smoothie as I walked down the street. My experience with the service was weird... I felt rushed by the cashier even though nobody stood behind me in line. This review is mostly on the service. Consistency is key. In Juicy Cafe's case, not so much. Very frustrated that I was charged an extra $1.00 today when I asked to subsitute more greens for the fruit in the Fast Eddy. They omitted the apples, bananas and mangos for ONE cucumber and charged me $1.00 extra and THEN made it wrong. The cashier definitely wasn't able to think outside the box in this situation. Very frustrating when I've done it before and wasn't charged. They also don't fill the smoothies to the top anymore. A $8 smoothie should not have a ton of room on the top. There's always long waits as well. Three girls normally dinking around the back counter as one guy or girl makes the orders. I'm pretty sure my coworkers and I will not waste our money here anymore. I went here for lunch and I was not very impressed. I order the Buddha bowl. It was too vinegary for my liking. The stench made me not finish it all. This one star review is based entirely on the "Eek!" factor of a few of the workers at this location. Specifically, there is one gentleman who works at the cash register who seems to be allergic to sleeves. Every time I go by he is wearing a tank top and I can't help but think that I don't want his armpit hairs that close to my juice. Yesterday he was wearing a shirt with such low and loose arm openings that I could see chest hair and nipple when he moved. He's not the one preparing the food, but that station is about three feet away from him. Not to mention that the woman who DOES dish up and serve the food is also prone to going sleeveless. I wish I could write two different reviews for this restaurant. I would give it four stars for food and I love that I can get blended juice, not just smoothies. This review is specifically about the Hearty Pesto Bowl the smoothies are good. I ordered this attempting to have a healthy breakfast. Now the pesto literally looks like something green out of a diaper. I really think it would be better to mix the pesto amongst the veggies and rice so it looks a bit more appetizing. The pesto is really thick and hard to mix as it is and with the mix of raw veggies (I assumed they were going to be steamed) on top of brown rice and two really fluffy very soft scrambled eggs it just doesn't work for me.
