The manager blamed her own employee for their collective mistakes and did everything possible to escalate rather than de-escalate the situation including calling the owner in front of us to complain to him rather than reach a solution with us. I cannot say enough good things about "Juice and Java" in Aventura, but if I had to sum up my thoughts quickly and efficiently, I would simply say that it is the very best in South Florida for healthy, fresh and very tasty food! While the Mish Mash is my favorite salad and item to order on the menu, I also love the falafel platter, portobello mushroom salad and of course, the fantastic and always fresh juices. Everything on the menu is perfectly flavored and cooked to perfection and I will keep coming back over and over again, even though the owner refuses to give up the ingredients of the world famous Java dressing. As a vegetarian I was excited to find this tasty spot. However, upon leaving I am beyond disgusted and appalled at their unsanitary business. After my meal I went to use the restroom and was shocked to see both restrooms doubled as a storage room. Bags of chips, plastic straws, utensils, lids and cups were out in the open right in front of the toilet. I am shocked no one has reported this place. For years now I've been coming here whenever I visit my family in Aventura. Went around 2pm on a Saturday afternoon. There were plenty of tables inside at this point but we opted to sit outside in the shade. Most of the time I order a wrap or salad, but decided to try something new and got the Mish Mash plate. Eggplant, brown rice, turkey burger, veggies. While the broccoli definitely could have been season a bit more, it was exactly what I wanted. The turkey burger was surprisingly flavorful, and eggplant is my favorite vegetable...so overall I was very pleased! I also got an iced coffee, which came with way way too much almond milk. I brought it to the woman at the counter who let me add some more coffee in to fix the ratio. Always looking forward to my next meal here when I'm back in Florida. read more

Came in for a quick juice. They put an apple in the juicer that had the sticker still on it and then tried to tell me the juicer was so powerful that it would somehow process the sticker. I don't want to drink sticker! Avoid this place if possible! read more

I come here for the avocado melt. It's fabulous, although over the years it's gotten smaller and smaller. I've tried other items and I've had to send them back. Today I had the red snapper with a sweet potato, and the fish was hard, dry and had a weird taste. I ate the veggies and the sweet potato (which could have been cooked longer), and was waiting for the waitress to come back, but she never did, and by the time she did, I was done. When I told her the fish was bad, she did offer to give me a dessert in the house. I figured the vegan chocolate mousse would regenerate my taste buds. I was excited about the mousse, but when it came, (it took forever: I thought she had forgotten) it just tasted like bananas. Didn't really have a chocolate taste. But when my friend had a taste, his side tasted like avocado. So I know what's in it, but it was not blended well, and I did find a piece of avocado which was funny. The only thing I recommend here is to order the avocado melt to go, because they don't care about their customers, and one of the waitresses even kept bumping into my chair (5times, without ever saying sorry.) it was not so busy, and after 30 minutes of waiting, we had to ask for the check. read more

If I could leave zero stars for this review I would. I had breakfast at this establishment on April 7, 2019 around 10 AM. Upon arrival our server who was not very engaging took our orders. After advising us that would be establishment it does not carry any soft drinks product, our server then proceeded to let us know that they had just is available, since as I was willing to not have any soft rink products I ordered a mango juice, when the juice arrived the juice was more like a mango smoothie with chunks of metal on the inside, no added sugar. I let the server know and she dismissed my issue with the beverage that she had served. I then returned it and ordered a plain water to drink with my meal. I was ready to enjoy my meal and when the chicken quesadillas arrive the quesadillas were severely burned. I immediately notified my server who had no empathy towards my situation as a customer at the establishment, and who did not offer me to see management regarding my experience at this place. I am very dissatisfied with the service provided and I will make sure that my review allows anyone considering having a meal at this place to give it a go. It has been over a year since I've been at this place and I can still not get over the fact that I was treated so poorly as a customer. I walked in for the first time on a sunny afternoon, it was busy, it was lunch time. There were no tables available so I planned to take my food to go. After waiting 15 minutes for someone to acknowledge me I decided to ask the person behind the counter if there was a menu I could see. He then told me I have to ask someone else. This guy, couldn't take less than 5 seconds to reach for a menu and hand it to me. So I looked on the chalkboard to see what food they offered. I ordered 2 items which were consistently tasteless and both had the same sauce (watered down mustard). I looked for the cheese inside the crepe and it was missing along with any SALT or flavor. Inside the crepes I only found tomato mush and 2 pieces of scallions. I asked for the missing cheese and was told it was in the food...NO IT WASN'T!!! I know when I eat CHEESE...The waitress said they put very little inside, but really there was none. Only thing they had to say is that they forgot but they stuck to the story that it was in the food. They have no idea what customer service is. Anyway, regardless of the terrible service NOTHING could have saved the saltless and flavorless crepes and pitas they serve at JUICE AND JAVA. The skinny juice was 25% foam but at the price of cold-pressed. I'll keep buying premium juice at RAW JUCE! In conclusion if you love flavorless uninspired food that you can prepare at home better and for less, by all means eat at this place. If you are expecting good service and the art of customer satisfaction you WILL NOT get that here. The only hope of eating this hospital food was if the service was any good but they get ZERO STARS in that department...Do not be fooled...Many reviews said the service was bad but they should have really pointed out that it was even worse than the food. I had the worst experience ever at this place. My mom and I walked to the cashier to ask what the process was to be seated.. do we sit wherever we see an open table or did we have to wait to be seated. The cashier told us to have a seat at the bar/counter area and a waitress would let us know when a table becomes available. So we did that, and within 5minutes a waitress did come over to us and advices us to go to a specific table.. mind you this was the only available table at the time. Out of nowhere another waitress walks up with a white family and tells me that the table was for them and not me and my mom. I informed her that a waitress just told us to sit there. Her response was very As a matter of fact and I felt discriminated against. She told me that there was a waiting list.. which no one EVER mentioned a waiting list! The waitress or the cashier never once spoke up for me and my mom to tell them that we were following their directions! Everyone started walking around with their heads up in the air! Unbelievable! My mother and I where the ONLY blacks in the whole establishment, and we where definitely discriminated against! There was no waiting list until they wanted to justify why this preferred family should sit at this table! Terrible service. Very overpriced food. Their Aventura location's phone number is listed incorrectly online. When I called the number, they took my order, but when I got there, they said they had no order for me. The other location had the order in Sunny Isles! And instead of apologizing and making my order promptly, they told me to go to Sunny Isles and pick it up there. Of course I complained! Why would I drive to another location when they are the ones who posted an incorrect phone number online and don't care to change it?! I can't be the only person this has happened to here. So then the owner of the place.... well, instead of being hospitable, he decided to berate my family publicly on social media. After we have been loyal customers for over 15 years. We've overlooked their erroneous behavior in the past but no more! We will never return after being treated so horribly. There are so many options in this neighborhood! Same problems everyone has been complaining for years and the owner literally says "ok then don't come back we don't need your business!" After they are the ones who made the error. It's in very poor taste for an owner to treat customers like this after we have spent thousands of dollars there over the years! Never again! read more
