Yes, they understood. I then confirmed again when I dropped the dog off. They understood. When I picked them up, they had done a full groom, which looked fine but wasn't what i asked for. The owner implied I had misunderstood, but wouldn't address that she had said I could come back for just a cut, and she would not answer questions about why her staff had agreed repeatedly to just a cut. She just kept saying she didn't understand the confusion, and I had to pay $150 because they had done a full groom. she wasn't even aware of how much they charged for a full groom at first. She discounted 20%. Her response to me saying I wouldn't be bringing her my business anymore was, "That's fine". This business is not registered with the BBB. I recommend you go elsewhere, but get everything in writing if you bring your animal here.

Despite this, the groomer cut her nails again--past the quick--causing all of them to bleed. I had to take her to the vet for treatment, including antibiotics and bandaging. What was most disappointing was the response: instead of taking responsibility, I was told by a groomer that "mistakes happen" and I am a difficult customer, and was even advised to go to the vet for grooming. I will not return, and neither should you.

A week before the appointment, I received an email notification saying that my appointment was rescheduled. I contacted Christina and asked why it was rescheduled (I usually try to work remotely on the days that Winnie gets groomed but have to give notice to my work). She explained that she had us on the calendar for the rescheduled date and I screenshotted the initial confirmation (with the prebooked date) and then she said that they don't service my area on the day I prebooked. Then why would you prebook us then? We went ahead with the rescheduled date and they ran 30 minutes late. I decided not to prebook my next appointment and consider options elsewhere. Although the quality of the cut was great, I would prefer to go somewhere that is more organized.

When I arrived, I was checked in right away and even offered a drink or snack. A doctor quickly came out to make sure nothing was urgent, and after about a 20-30 minute wait we did a full exam. The team was so patient and kind--consulting with each other, keeping me with my dog the whole time, and making sure she was comfortable throughout. Thankfully it ended up being full anal glands and some irritation. They took care of it and gave me guidance on meds (which I already had on hand). Checkout was the biggest surprise: only $205, which feels incredibly reasonable for Northern Virginia. The clinic was clean, organized, and calm, and it was obvious the pets there were genuinely cared for (even the ones in cones having a rough day). For a stressful night, this place made it a really good experience.
