In my previous review I have this Judy's location four stars... Now three.. Maybe two and a half... The donuts are still decent straightforward donuts but the service is not friendly. The prices understandably have gone up as everything else in this current economic climate has gone up but it is off putting to be charged extra for a jelly donut when you are buying a half dozen or dozen donuts because it's not considered a standard donut.. It's not like it's one of those donuts with bacon or gold leaf or breakfast cereal on top... But the kicker is on the menu the price difference between a standard donut (1.80) and a non standard donut (2.50) is seventy cents but it's an extra dollar charge of it's part of your dozen donuts??? I ordered the most amazing breakfast sandwich. Crispy flaky croissant which bacon, ham and swiss cheese. Huge! I ate half for breakfast and half the next day. It was so sweet of them. Little donut shop located on the SE corner of Clovis Ave and Herndon. They had a small but decent selection of donuts when we were there on a Saturday morning recently. I was shopping at dollar tree and happened to see that Judy's donuts was open, so glad I stepped in! The shop is small and has the classic mom and pop feel but it smelled like fresh bacon when I walked in. For a quick breakfast that's cheaper than the price of a starbucks drink, this was perfect! I really loved the croissant with the gooey warm cheese. A dozen cream/custard puffs for a price that's pretty unbeatable. They were super sweet, probably from a hefty amount of powdered sugar, but with a black coffee it was much better. I'll definitely come back to try donuts next! read more

New management a couple years back had made a lot of improvements, but I won't be back after my most recent experience. A newer employee began ringing up my order, the manager/owner? came to hover over her, and I started getting upcharged for even the most basic donuts. They also make blueberry old fashioned....which I luckily tried on a whim years back and fell in love. And the staff has always been very friendly. Make sure to bring cash...you know coins and paper/cloth rectangles of currency exchanged for goods and services...that is the only form of payment accepted. When I first walked in the display of donuts looked beautiful, A dozen donuts were ordered and that donut was one of the ones I got which was extra, I told the lady it was fine then we paid and went home, a day later the donuts that we paid extra for looked unpleasant, and when I reached for my special donut which had strawberry's and whip cream I saw that one of the strawberries had fuz and I came to conclusion that it was mold and it was! When I called the lady tried to make excuses saying they wash the strawberries 3 times before they go into the donut and that they are fresh but that should not be happening to one day old donuts if they were made yesterday morning. read more

I don't usually buy donuts, but yesterday I had a birthday party to go to and saw that this store was close. When I came in the 2 people who I assume were the owners were so sweet and kind !! I first asked for 5 donuts and then the man said, "are you sure you don't want 6 it's cheaper?" Which I think is so honest, most places wouldn't go out of their way to say that, so I decided to buy a dozen. The man helped me pick out donuts and was very patient. The only thing that it is cash only, which I don't find to be a big deal. They also don't have a tip jar, so when I asked the man if he accepted tip, he replied very shyly and said, " well I guess I can." So of course I gave him $5 for being so helpful and honest. A dozen donuts came out to about $11.88, or something around that price. The donuts were fresh, soft, and not too sweet! I'm really impressed and will be coming back! Also after reading a lot of the reviews it saddens me to see that people are giving them 2 stars for not being able to sample a product or that when they came at 2pm they had a limited selection. HOW PETTY CAN YOU BE !!!!! Donuts are for breakfast, what bakery is going to want to have stale goods and if you come late, that's on you . Don't take it out on these nice people . read more

The first time I went here (8/5/14), I stopped by around 9:15am thinking that there would be some donuts left. Damn, should've read Delaney's review first. I walked in -- a small mom and pop type donut shop -- and saw the glass shelf nearly empty. There were two trays left: The top shelf had around ten glazed donuts left, one apple fritter, plain donuts, and a few crullers. The second one had around five chocolate bars and powdered donut bites -- not even a single maple bar. I ended up getting half a dozen (the apple fritter, three glazed, and two chocolate bars) but the guy at the counter threw in an extra donut -- just the plain one -- for free. The apple fritter and the glazed donuts were probably the ones I liked the most. The edges of the apple fritter were dark and had a nice coating of glaze; the only problem with it was that I tasted more cinnamon sugar than apple. Still, I enjoyed every bite and wouldn't mind coming back for another, or two...or even a dozen. No complaints. This morning (8/9/14), around 10:30am, I walked in saw that there were maple bars. I ordered three maple bars and three regular glazed donuts, but the guy behind the counter gave me another donut for free; this time, he gave me a free glazed donut. Kudos to you, sir! The ones I bought were nice and fluffy, but I found the coating on the maple bars to be a little too sweet to my liking. I'm not fond of donuts at all, but I do like what I've had here so far. My favorite Judy's location. I don't come to this one often since it's a little out of the way, but today I was running errands and my son wanted a treat. So I stopped in with my 4 yr old and 5 month old, and the gentleman behind the counter was SO sweet with my kids. Was very patient when my 4 year old was trying to decide what he wanted and even helped me to my car when he saw my hands were full with the kiddos! Excellent customer service that you don't see too often anymore. As for the donuts, always delicious and fresh tasting, and stocked with the popular favorites. The location is clean and bright, I'll have to come back more often. Thanks for making my morning easier, and happier! read more

Judy's! My go-to for a morning donut and coffee. The donuts here are not overwhelmingly sugary and have more of a fluffy texture with just the right amount of glaze or whatever topping you prefer. The lady here was very kind and even gave us an extra donut to get with the other dozen we were going to stuff our mouths with. Like other donut shops they offer coffee, milk, OJ, etc. There's no other donut spot in Fresno like Judy's that I know of so I'll continue to come here, I'll be sure to update my review if I find something better, (which I doubt.) read more
