Our waitress was classic! So inviting, so friendly, so helpful, great personality. She had the kind of hospitality and charm that you would see on TV when a show takes place in a small town diner. Been going to Judy's for years so this review is looong overdue. This particular visit, my son and I were on a Motorcycle ride and stopped in to warm/caffeinate up. You can sit at a table/booth or at the counter like we typically do. This has the old school "greasy spoon" diner feel - in a good way. Really solid basic breakfast food that's really affordable. I had eggs over medium, hash browns, 2 bacon, and 2 sausage with sourdough toast. Stopped in Labor Day and they were pretty busy. Current times result in waiting longer anywhere, so bring your patience wherever you go. Judy's was no different. I hopped up to the counter and was waited on quickly. I was looking for some lunch, so ordered a BLT. Was not disappointed in the least. It is a basic diner - good food, great price and great service. They had a local teen baseball team selling some baked goods, so I had to support them! They advertise "home cooking" but it's anything BUT. My dinner was so salty, from the soup to the gravy. It was definitely from a mix. I inquired as to the pies, if they were made in-house, and was met with a sour-faced waitress who said "nope". So much for homemade. The coffee was weak and when my husband told the waitress, she gave him a dirty look. He asked for another cup of stronger coffee, which never came. The check was brought to our table before we finished eating by the sour-puss waitress, who never asked us about our meal, or if we needed anything else. I left most of my dinner, paid and left. This is a mom and pop, local diner, with greasy hash browns, strong black coffee and many of the surrounding characters. They offer a variety of breakfast and lunch options. This is a typical family diner along a major highway. The place is clean and spacious, brightly lit with big windows that provide a good view of the Globe mountain scenery. The staff is friendly, service is fast, and the food is middle-of-the-road. Located at the top of a hill it has an awesome view of the valley below, oh and the sunset. I'm a fan (3.5 star) of this place because their menu says they've been open for at least 20 something years. It could be longer because I don't know how up to date that menu is. They have a large menu which includes Senior Specials, burgers, sandwiches, salads, and your typical country kitchen kind of food. It's a good place to take the family and have a good simple meal without breaking the bank. It was pretty busy during dinner. You have the option to sit at the bar, in a table or booth. I had the T-bone steak dinner. The T-bone was good, not an amazing steak that I'd spread the word about to the world about as it was a little tough but it is a steak I love that shit. Not the best steak I had in town but I enjoyed it. It was accompanied with a baked potato, some corn off the cob, a salad, and a biscuit which were all OK. It filled me. Those that I were with had the open faced turkey sandwich, it was a pile of sliced turkey on a couple slices of bread with mash potato and covered with gravy oh boy did it look good, the chicken parmesan which looked alright, and don't remember what the other one had. Customer service was good, they brought our food out quickly and kept refilling our drinks, I'd say I was a fan of their service. This was my only time here. I had two over medium eggs, four pieces of bacon, hash browns and toast. It was very good. Eggs were fresh and cooked to perfection. The hash browns tasted fresh, not frozen, the bacon was crispy and tasty and the toast was buttered from corner to corner. The food came out very quickly after I ordered. The waitress was nice, but she had her back to me talking co-workers for a while until I walked up to her and asked if I could place my order. The server was wonderful. Professional, and top notch. She made an error when I asked her the type of bread their Patty Melt came on. She said "sourdough". Which I told her was perfect. When my meal came, it was on rye bread, which I cannot eat. I called it to her attention, and she immediately wanted to take it back. She said she would make sure she would give us a discount. We didn't see her again. Finally went to the register to check out. An older (very nasty) woman rang up our meal. We had not been given a ticket, so I could not see what our charge was. When I got it, there was not a discount. I told her the situation, and she said she had no way to discount the sandwich. She said since I ate it, they couldn't discount it. I pointed out the two pieces of bread and all the cheese were not able to be eaten. I told her to get her manager, and get it fixed which I went to the bathroom. The ticket now had two sandwiches charged, not one. She said she could give me a military discount of 10%, or Senior of 5%. I am not military, but AM a senior! was ready to walkout without paying (never have done in my life). I told her to get her manager (never appeared). Finally she took both charges off the bill. It took 30 minutes of arguing to get the bill properly charged. I typically bring my family here for breakfirst when I come into town. Just your typical breakfast food. Nothing special. The service is very very slow even when they're not busy. Went there recently for breakfast with my family. We waited over two hours for our food. They brought the kids pancakes and bacon first. It was cold and the pancakes were hard as rocks. They were so hard the boys couldn't chew them. We waited yet another thirty minutes for our food. I had mentioned several times asking how long the wait would be. The manager was very very rude. I stepped outside because I was frustrated. Some people who were there selling cupcakes in the front area had overheard our conversation about the wait. They asked if we had gotten our food yet and I said no. When I was on my way back in, The manager attacked me in the vestibule and started screaming. I was then approached by a server Who started yelling at me when I told my daughter The manager screamed at me Another server then proceeds to yell at me. I yelled back and then. I told my family to leave. The food was literally being served after A two hour wait. We got up to leave and were threatened. They gave me something that looked like a hot dog cut in half (it was burnt black!) but they called it sausage. The menu had several good options on it. We started with mozzarella sticks which were really good and the sauce alright. My daughter had the pizza which was just awful - tasted and looked like cardboard with red paint. My wife had the open-face turkey sandwich which didn't sit well with her: It consisted of shaved turkey (think lunch meat) on white bread with a side of processed mashed potatoes and gravy so salty you could melt ice with it. I had the green chile burger which was actually decent. Looked like a manually-shaped patty, not from a freeze pack. Fries were good. The waitress left the bill when she served the food and never returned. We had to flag down another waitress to get refills and she told us ours had taken a break. At 6.30 - peak dinner time, I'd guess. Odd time to take a break. It was freezing outside and the single-pane windows made it pretty chilly. Booths were worn, you could feel the springs. Just got off the Upper Salt river and wanted some easy food. Judy's was one of the few spots open on a Sunday evening and let's face it, there are slim pickings in Miami/Globe. It's one of those places that can be good if you stick w/ the simple stuff. Breakfast, a burger, maybe a BLT or club sandwich. Good, solid diner food. Nothing fancy, but a nice meal at a reasonable price. 5 of us went to Judy's after finding out the place we were going to go was closed whilst the owners were on vacation. It was Friday so the soup of the day was Clam Chowder. I usually don't expect much from Clam Chowder anywhere that isn't on the coast, but Judy's had a delicious clam chowder with nice chunks of clams in a nice, thick chowder. I got the French dip. It was fine. Plain, but fine. Probably would have been better with some cheese on it but it wasn't offered and i didn't think to ask. Dining companions got burgers and they were good sized, and the toppings all looked fresh (the veggies) and there were plenty of mushrooms on the mushroom burger and enough bacon on the bacon cheeseburger. The BLT was split by the other 2 diners in our party and the half sandwich plus a bowl of soup was more than adequate for them, so that worked out well. Our server was friendly and pleasant. The ladies room was clean and soap and TP were stocked. The place wasn't packed but there were plenty of people there for 4 in the afternoon on a Friday. No complaints and, as I said earlier - Good, solid diner food. I'd go back again. read more

Good, traditional diner. Very much like a Denny's or IHOP. It is great for a late meal when you don't want fast food. Three of us had respectively a breakfast plate, sandwich and a dinner plate (all you can eat spaghetti special) and everyone was happy with their meal. Prices run about $8 a meal. read more
