Food is always good, service is relaxed and food delivery is very slow. If you're not in a hurry good place to visit.

A few friends and I came in for a 'hair of the dog' day. We ordered a round of adult beverages then ordered our subpar, room temp food. We ordered an app of the 'two pretzels' (sike) its one. I asked for the pepper jack cheese (sike x2) it's nacho. Don't worry it gets better. I tell the server who mentioned she rolled out of bed and put her st Patrick's day outfit on from the day before (oops) its fine? But I asked st Patricia to take this Walmart super pretzel off my tab. She said she was getting JUDY!!!! OH NO? I told her the false advertisement had me. But who in the heck could justify selling this 25 pack for get this... $11.00? The same price they're selling one? Someone make this next part make sense. JUDY throws this super pretzel and her dollar general plate into the dish tub. So I guess I didn't have to pay for that? But you know what did have to pay for that? That poor plate and her drywall. Looking for a nearby eatery close to our campground, we drove the 5 miles to Buffalo. As soon as we entered the restaurant, Judy greeted us. The restaurant side was full, so we sat at pub table in bar. Again Judy came to our table to get our drink order, chatted with us, offered me a sample of Cherry Bomb, a local beer. Six draft beer including local brews. Food was good; had the 4 tacos/$6, and macaroni & cheese. What a great little spot! Right across from the Mississippi River. We've been several times and I should have posted before this but...here I am now! And? When a train goes by, they had "Train Shots" of Fireball for a buck! So fun! Started with an perfect Bloody Mary with all the fixin's. Practically a meal in itself! My friend and I split the Chicken Bacon Ranch sandwich (yes, it's big enough to share!). It was incredible!! Tender, juicy chicken, cooked just right. I think I can say it's the best chicken sandwich I've had anywhere Her hubs had a grilled tenderloin and mine a Barge Burger. They both thought they were really good. Then, onto dessert. The coconut cream pie was soooo good. She had German chocolate cake and liked it. And a shout out to Allison D. What a great, pleasant, smiling server she was! This little place next to the Mississippi River is a gem. The drinks are decently priced, the food is good. I had a tenderloin basket. I asked for unbreaded but ended up getting the breaded by mistake and I was not disappointed. The homemade fries were good but a little soggy with grease (no biggie). I had great service by a cute girl named Danielle. She was new, but friendly. This place was clean. Another visit to this place on a Sunday with my husband found us wanting to order food but the kitchen closes at 6pm and we were 10 minutes late. Ended up sitting at the bar and having a Bloody Mary which was served with a side of Busch light served from the tap and some relished pickles and olives. Apparently we missed the food Bloody. I'm not disappointed because the drink was just as good without all the fixins'. This place is a good pit stop for anyone passing through. The river view is amazing! read more

First visit for us 4/27/19, lunch, and we were impressed. Clean establishment, friendly staff, all of whom we met, and outstanding food and lots of it. Wife had french dip, I had their hamburger and both were fine. Judy introduced herself and clearly is the boss. Lots of people, families, couples, and single guests and all had clearly been there before and liked coming back. First Class Establishment and we will return. read more

This bar and grill is about a year old. We were then when it was brand new and were impressed then. The food is almost entirely local. We know the farm from which they purchase their beef. The food is excellent and deserves five stars. When we returned two evenings ago, the service was a bit slow in coming. This was probably because the place was full (on a Thursday night!), and is divided into the bar room and the dining room and we chose to sit in the bar. Still, the bar tender could look up from her work every now and then to survey the crowd for potential assistance. The other weakness of the establishment is that they only have four taps. But... two of those taps spout locally brewed beer, so that's good. I'd give it a five, but there is still room to improve. read more

This place is a joke. Ordered a turkey club 2 pieces of bacon and turkey scraps. The owner came to my table and said that looked about right. Funny thing is another person at the table ordered the same and got 6 strips of bacon and a nice thick piece of turkey and another person at the table received a great turkey club also. Ate here for lunch after visiting the Buffalo Shores Beach (great access to the Mississippi). Made use of the outdoor seating and the breeze was great. The chicken tenders and fries were stellar! Someone really knows how to use a deep fryer. A little pricey but good eats! read more

We were looking for a new place to try and found positive comments about Judy's Barge Inn on FB so decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed. It looked great inside but it was way too beautiful of a day so we asked to sit outside and they were very accommodating. They have a deck where you can see the Mississippi River and a yard with additional seating. There's a bouncing castle for kids but it is well supervised by staff. We both had Judy's Barge Burger, mine without the egg. The hubby had the onion strings and I had the hand cut fries. Both burgers were perfect as were the fries and onion rings. The service was excellent, thank you. We will definitely be back with friends. read more

What a great place. Stopped by after our round of golf in muscatine after reading a feature on this place in the paper. We sat on the bar side and the bar tender quickly greeted us and brought our beer. She was very attentive the whole time we were there even tho it was a Saturday night and they were fairly busy. We ordered the pulled pork nachos for an appetizer. The flavor was amazing and the pork was so tender but they were not very warm. I would definitely order again. We ordered a barge burger and the prime rib French dip sandwich. Both were fantastic. The prime rib was juicy and flavorful and the burger was prob one of the best I've had! French fries were hand cut potatoes! Nice view of the Mississippi and buffalo beach. Will definitely be going back often! read more

Judy's Barge inn is a great place to eat and enjoy looking at the river. They have a family atmosphere during the day and have a very nice outdoor dining area. There food is good fresh and large! Great desserts everyday they change! read more

I've gone to Judy's more than once...always want to give it a shot as the new owners have really transferred it into this super cute bar/restaurant, and its local! They have food, which is great! (I'm vegan so I get their spring mix salad which is super good and an order of onion straws and throw it on top of the salad) HOWEVER, I simply cannot give more than 3 stars UNTIL their service gets better. Even on the days they aren't busy, it takes literally.. for.ev.er. to get anything! Even if it's just a salad! Got there at 7, placed an order around 715...2 salads, onion straws and fries...didnt get it until after 810pm! Everytime I've been there the service is just so poor! read more
