I'm always on the lookout for something uniquely native to the indigenous people, or something with spiritual meaning. I found this place doing a search, and decided to visit. I learned that Judaculla is a hunter god of the Cherokee people, and it is believed that this stone marks his footstep as he jumped between the mountains. The stone also has petroglyphs and has made its way into the Atlas Obscura. I didn't see any offerings or indigenous people around, this stone actually sits next to active farms. I enjoyed the peace and serenity of the location until several people came, some with dogs, in cars, and everyone became friends. Odd experience, nothing new to me. If you look at the pictures, you may see faces and things. I will tell you, the camera catches things the eyes can't. Just another oddity. read more
