There was also no effort made by front line staff to help me problem-solve. Only after I was turned away aggressively ("What is this? This isn't a prescription!! There is no doctor's signature, blah, blah, blah...") did I realize they could have just offered to try and transfer the prescription, because I did have a prescription number...which is what I was having done with a second prescription already, incidentally. For that second prescription, thank goodness somebody who seemed like the manager just happened to be standing there and listening. The counter person tried to tell me, oh this was filled by a different pharmacy, you have to go there. I as the customer, with no clue about their systems, had to proactively say, "Isn't it possible to transfer this prescription to here? Because that pharmacy didn't actually take my insurance." I am sure they are just very busy and trying to save as much time as they can with this gatekeeping by being unimaginative. But I can only imagine what barriers this creates for people. And also, it felt like they didn't even actually want my business, they were so busy.

I just used some W Cash Rewards that had been saved for quite some time, and now, when checking out, I have to start earning my W Cash Rewards from scratch again. I enjoy the occasional visit to Walgreens, where I typically see it as a good excuse to stock up on paper goods, such as Kleenex or facial tissues, which I often run out of at home. I found multiple options for brands, box sizes, ply count, and whether they were soft or had lotion on them. I do enjoy just walking around the store as you never know what you will find. While walking around this time, I noted that this store regularly keeps the aisles looking good and the items in stock, though I also saw employees restocking items and changing price tags in various aisles. When I was checking out, there was one person ahead of me, but the line moved quickly, and once I entered my phone number for my rewards program, my transaction went through quickly, too. The W Cash Rewards program is free to sign up for and easy to use. You earn back 1% in Walgreens Cash rewards storewide, even at the pharmacy, and 5% in rewards on Walgreens branded products. There are also sales prices automatically unlocked and other savings coupons, where you can earn reward dollars by making a purchase after selecting a given coupon. Sometimes the coupons are on a receipt from your most recent purchase. You can also find other coupons on the app or the website (or in a booklet or ad when you arrive at the store). While I do not frequent Walgreens as often as other drug stores, I often wonder why, when I happen to visit a Walgreens store, as it's so easy to shop there, and my experiences are often very pleasant. I went to pick up my pain meds as I had just got out from surgery. I was clearly not feeling well and felt drowsy. Overall, it was a decent visit but then not have Hydrogen Peroxide for 2 days in a row is disappointing.
