Came here on a Sunday early afternoon for lunch. I had the Philly cheese steak sandwich made from…read moreprime rib. It was exceptional! This sandwich far exceeded my expectations. The quality and quantity was outstanding. Apparently Saturday night is the Prime Rib special and although I've not tried it, if this sandwich is any indication of the quality, I'll be back. I've been coming here for years; it's a wonderful bar/restaurant out in the sticks with an incredible view and atmosphere. The outside deck is a great place to gather with friends over a beer or old fashioned. The service is fast, friendly and efficient. My order was taken quickly and when the food came out it was piping hot. Good selection of beers included several quality non-alcoholic beers. I've had the pizza in the past and it's delicious. If you haven't come here to eat, you need to check this place out; you won't be disappointed. I highly recommend Norwegian Hollow Hideaway for food and/or drinks. It's a great ride in the UTV.

Our party tried a shaved beef sandwich, a Philly cheese steak sandwich, and a New England fish sandwich. All sandwiches were large, fresh, and full of flavor. Splurge for tots as a side...so generous, crispy and hot. Everyone was thrilled with the food! The chef/owner is an outstanding cook, then hustles to assist in every position, it seemed. Very nice to see. Our server was great, too. A+++

Saturday I was on a brewery excursion...starting @ Fat Pat's in Spring Valley....as I chatted up…read morebeertender Harley, we got on about whiskey and Old Fashioneds.... She mentioned "on the other side of the park is RockFilter Distillery, I sometimes work over there". I excitedly replied: hey I'm pretty sure I follow them on social media (gets out phone) "yes" they open at noon... it's 11:52, annnd the stars have aligned! Thanks as I was brewery focused!" So... I drove the two minutes around the park, from parking spot to parking spot to check it out. Parking was easy right out front along the curb. They had a windowed garage door they opened & a few tables & chairs about. I didnt know the fella i met as i came in was the co-owner/distiller! As i made my way to the bar, two gals working. I thought i heard one say to the other "mom"... no way, im crazy. Sure enough when i asked what she drinks? "Im not old enough, these are my parents." Solid!! I love a family run, local, small business!! Co-owner Kate did a FAB job explaining the tasting notes of the several drinks i inquired about!! I went w the Honey Bourbon. It was delicious but i opted to have what i came in for; an Old Fashioned! After, of course consulting Kate on whether she'd go w an Old Fashioned or New Old Fashioned? Its a cute tasting room. They have several bottles on the bar. I didnt see a couple bottles he referred to but i LOVED when he said it was his grandparents picture on the Rail Splitter, his uncle on a tractor on the Red Rider Rye and his great uncle on another!! How fun!! Rochester brewery Forager takes barrels after hes used them! I really like the old pulley above the bar for the lights. The old pipe as a bar footrest. I really liked the river bar top! The chicken was no bigger than a Cornish hens 1/2 of breast and not stuffed but a bit of artichoke on top. Maybe two (2) tbls of mashed potatoes. It was such a a disappointment for taking family out fora Mother's day dinner that we even had reservations for and then heard the waitress state they were running out of food. Sadden that the manager or cook put this all on the waitresses and couldn't even come out to offer us anything else.

This small town diner has regulars coming in for their dinner, having a drink and chatting up a storm. It's situated in the middle of nowhere but scenic bluffs and farms. They have a nice deck to sit outside in the summer. This is the third time we have been there and the food is always consistently good! Simple food without fancy presentation but amazingly tasty. We ordered the broasted chicken platter-juicy flavorful tender meat and delicious crunchy skin. You can choose dark or white meat or combo. I got the broasted potatoes with the meal and cheddar bacon potato soup with it. Soup was creamy, rich and delicious. My husband ordered the same meal and added a piece of battered cod with his. Great portions and delicious. We couldn't resist ordering the walleye meal with seasoned fries. The walleye was fresh and flaky. Not the biggest fan of their seasoned fries...thicker cut and not crunchy. For dessert, touch choice but we decided on the caramel apple ice cream that came in a martini glass. Big portion and perfect for us to finish it. They also have the alcoholic version of their ice cream mixes. Overall...take a trip to this beautiful part of Southern Minnesota explore the underground Niagara caves, stop over in Spring Grove and get their famous Spring Grove pop and hike in Beaver Valley State Park.
