Everything was perfect as it has been every time I have patronize On The Crunchy Side. The food is not only delicious it is fresh. Did you know the hamburger buns are made from scratch? Plus, it is the only restaurant that I have visited that includes a selection of delicious bite size chocolate candy with the bill. I don't eat desserts, so getting bite size chocolate candy is the perfect treat. I love the bar atmosphere and the way it is decorated. It is clean, classy, and comfortable. The service is fitting for a bar. I love that the owner comes out and talks to his guest. Last night it was to confirm how Tony wanted his raw burger done. Had dinner here after the antique mall last night. It was amazing! Probably one of the best cheeseburgers I've ever had. The shoestring fries were great as well. Skipped getting a drink because of my long drive back home but the bar looked to have a great selection available and the ambiance of the place was so fun. Lisa my waitress was the best and very attentive to the customers. Chef's kiss to the grill master! I have waited over a month to post my review. The food is good but the owner was very unprofessional and I would not recommend this place to anyone. We were a large group of 12. This place is NOT good for groups. I wish we would have known we were not welcome before we sat down, ordered, ate, and got our bills. They were not that busy when we arrived and we easily found three or four tables next to each other so we could all sit together. I ordered a tuna sandwich which was supposed to come with cheese for $9.25. Chips are included but if you want fries there is an additional $2 charge. If you want your sandwich grilled it is an additional $.50. Since the tuna sandwich came with cheese I ordered it grilled. When I got my food, there was no cheese. Since there was no cheese I simply asked the waitress not to charge me for grilling the sandwich. She agreed. When the bill came I was charged $9.75. Others in our party were charged a nickel for a lemon slice in their water. And as another YELP reviewer pointed out, if you use a bank card then there is a charge for that as well. So we asked for the $.50 to be deducted from our bill and that's when the owner got mad and started yelling and swearing at my boyfriend in front of all the other customers! The owner couldn't believe we would have the nerve to ask for a fifty-cent adjustment to our bill "after bringing all these people in here without a reservation and causing all this chaos on the kitchen!" Our bill was $28-something and we had given $40 cash. The owner stood at the cash register with his back to us and refused to give us ANY change. Finally the waitress intervened and gave us our change, apologizing profusely. As we left the restaurant and began walking down the street, the owner came out and yelled some more at my boyfriend and then hollered to me "Sorry lady! I hope he doesn't take you home and beat the crap out of you." Judging by the comments we overheard in the restaurant from some of the locals, this is not unusual behavior for the owner. There are reviews on other sites that state the same. And on YELP if you look at the non-recommended reviews there is this review by Mary G. of Minneapolis: "If you like Good Burgers Go Here, But then again if you want Bad Customer Service By the Owner, Then Don't. In all my years of eating out we have never been treated the way this Guy treated us anywhere. Would never recommend this place to anyone." I agree Mary G. of Minneapolis. read more

Decent drink selection. Good atmosphere and I've heard the food is good by the locals. The owner was a little weird and heard some stories from the locals about the place before going in. We walked in and he was yelling "Who in the h*l* played this Sh**?!" As he ran to the Touch tunes with a remote to change the song. He yelled a few other obscenities before he went back behind the bar and started serving. As a Yelp Elite Reviewer, this is very out of the ordinary and alarming at any establishment, and you typically follow the word of the locals when traveling. Take the review for what it's worth. But I doubt I'll ever go back next time I'm in town. read more

Stopped in a few weeks ago and was surprised how rude the bartender was. A simple question to the bartender...is the kitchen open or not... took 20 minutes to answer since the bartender was busy bullshitting with her friends and of course by that time the answer she gave us was "The kitchen is closed" Been here before but will not return because of the attitude of this bartender. This little gem is a must stop for sophisticated diners who find themselves in rural SE Minnesota. Every time I eat here, I am reminded of the care that goes into the food, decor, service, and pricing. Today's omelet came with fresh bell peppers and meaty dark mushrooms, plus sausage that was not from a Sysco truck (perhaps nothing does, and that's probably the difference). Homemade bread for the toast. Jam NOT from a little plastic box, and thin, crispy delicious hash browns. With coffee and tax (and friendly service) my bill was $12.40. On vacation with the college buddies and we decided to stop by here for supper. Not being from Minnesota, who knew about not being able to buy beer on a Sunday? So we decided we would eat here. Imagine our sadness when we found that the kitchen was closed for the evening (ok it was 9pm - but hey - it's vacation.) We were so taken with the charming personality of the bar and the owner/cook/bartender, we decided to head back on Monday! Decor: Old building with high ceilings that has been redone to be as impressive as it would have been back in 1900. Bathrooms very nice and also very clean. Kitchen was open, so you could watch the cook (Tex) working his magic. Drink Menu: Since this is a bar and restaurant, I want to give a shout out to the drinks. Wide range of craft beers and other favorites on tap. Lots more in bottles as well. I was really impressed when the owner came in with a bunch of fresh mint from the garden and made a mojito. Who knew that in a small town of 1200 that anyone would know what a mojito is, let alone how to make it correctly! (Bonus points for finding out the owner moved here from the Twin Cities) Food: Smaller menu with a wide variety of items. I had a burger, my companions had a salad and chicken strips. The burger was great and the to order cook was right on the money. The taco salad had real meat on it, not a ground meat seasoned with Old El Paso. It was tender and flavorful. Would like to have another opportunity to eat here just to sample some of the other items. Service: Friendly and efficient. Server/bartender stopped by to keep glasses full. The cook checked over the half wall to make sure the food was good. The owner was very personable and was enjoyable to converse with. Several things to note: This establishment seemed a little out of place for the town of Harmony. I would have expected a corner bar serving Old Style and a microwave burrito or pizza. This is like finding a pearl in your oyster! Harmony...you better appreciate that you are being given great food, great drink and at a very fair price! Cleanliness: Amazing. It was slow on a late Monday afternoon and obviously the cook has been taught the "Time to lean is time to clean". He was cleaning in the kitchen and even pulling appliances out to sweep and wipe down. Thank you for keeping it clean and sanitary! We stopped for drinks on the way home from rochester and enjoyed everything about our visit here! The drinks were good, but after hearing the great options for dinner, we decided to order. We enjoyed the appetizers while we decided on our meals. My husband had a turkey wrap and gave it a thumbs up! I had a rib eye steak with a side of horseradish sauce, REAL mashed potatoes with butter and sour cream and snap peas with bacon flavored perfectly. The food was excellent! We enjoyed the owners. Very attentive and genuinely wanted us to enjoy our time at their establishment! Good job, looking forward to our leftovers. We will be seeing them again soon from our neighboring state. Wandering through the Minnesota landscape on Route 52, we happened upon the town of Harmony. Driving thru on Main Street we happened upon this great establishment . We're drawn in by he promise of selection of craft beers. We tasted before deciding , me the owner and his wife and may have had the best burger that I have ever eaten. A must visit! read more

This place is awesome! We went to Harmony to do the Niagara Cave Tour and stoped for lunch afterwards. The service was friendly and welcoming, the food tasted wonderful (they make their own dressing--honey mustard with pretzels highly recommended and salsa as well!). We stopped in on a weekday en route to Niagara Cave. It was quiet for a bar/grill (near the end of summer and about 1 pm, so take that for the time of day/week/year.) Andy was an entertaining and attentive one-man-band. The food was very good. We had a variety of lunch fare - burgers, chicken sandwich and personal pizza. It was all good, no complaints.
