All three of us (the Mrs, my Aunt, and myself) ordered the Biertgarten Smashburgers and we split an order of the Cheese Curds. The burgers were two 4oz chuck/brisket patties, fried onion, American cheese, lettuce, pickles, and Smash Sauce served on a toasted brioche bun and is FANTASTIC! Have plenty of napkins at your disposal as the flavor oozes from this burger! The hand-cut fries are a great side and very good too (I had to add some salt to put them over the top)...the Cheese Curds made it a trifecta...they were outstanding as well, crispy coating and melt in your mouth cheesyness! The servers were very helpful and ready to help out at a moments notice. Dixie's Biertgarten Smashburger has moved on to my Top 5 Burgers I've Ever Had list... Burger was very shareable and came with fries. Not sure it's the best in the state, but it was very good. Despite being busy, food came out quickly. Great selection of local craft beers on tap. Decorah has amazing beers. Special note that the staff was very friendly. This was a great bar and grill and I can totally see why it was crawling with guests. We will be back when in town again.

The food looked decent and the pretzel was ok. Standard, uninspired brewpub food for the most part. Worth noting that their beer list isn't up to date so we missed out on a few barrel aged things they said they had. Basically you have to get there on release day if you want any non-flagship dark beers. It's a nice one-stop shop on a road trip for food and beer but I don't think it's worth going out of the way for.

I drove the two minutes around the park, from parking spot to parking spot to check it out. Parking was easy right out front along the curb. I thought i heard one say to the other "mom"... no way, im crazy. Sure enough when i asked what she drinks? "Im not old enough, these are my parents." Solid!! I love a family run, local, small business!! Co-owner Kate did a FAB job explaining the tasting notes of the several drinks i inquired about!! I went w the Honey Bourbon. It was delicious but i opted to have what i came in for; an Old Fashioned! After, of course consulting Kate on whether she'd go w an Old Fashioned or New Old Fashioned? Its a cute tasting room. They have several bottles on the bar. I saw a lot of martinis and cocktails coming out of the bar. There are waitresses, but it looked like just 1 bartender. She was BUSY! Waitresses were just standing there while the 1 'tender was working her ass off. We sat at the bar and barely got service because she was so busy. I of course don't know how the place works, but it seems like someone could have helped her. We only stayed for 1 beer and left because we couldn't get any of the bartender's time. It would be a cool place to hang if maybe we sat at a table. (I felt out of place being in my Packer's gear.) I see they do live jazz music. That might be worth going back for someday.
