His…read moreestimate was affordable and we felt assured when he came out to see the project as he commented on what was required according to code (apparently our dilapidated decks were not compliant and none of the other contractors we consulted with made mention of this). Bruce confirmed his availability for install beginning in late October at that time and we coordinated via email as that time approached. Bruce and his team do very great, thorough work. They were all very friendly and trustworthy. We are very pleased with our deck replacements and the dry rot pieces they both identified and replaced on our front support columns. Bruce also hung up our new address numbers for us at the conclusion of the project, which was a big help for us! We did not receive an invoice until the very end of the project (after 3 of 4 payments were made), but did receive one nonetheless. Despite this, we don't have any concern about Bruce and his team coming out to repair anything that should arise. Though, we don't expect that to happen based on the quality work they provided. Their focus is on their craft, not the administrative pieces of the business. I highly recommend Shaffer & Sons and will keep Bruce's contact information should we, our friends, or family members require any work completed in the future.

While the deck was not very large, it had some complexity including planning around a new hot tub. Jaime prepared our estimate and was the project manager. He quickly understood what we wanted and offered ideas over the course of the project. When not on site, he was available by phone at any time. Brian and Louie (spelling?) were with us for all 9 days of construction. I was very impressed by their craftmanship and willingness to work through the inevitable issues that come up. Other guys helped occasionally during the project and worked very hard. Overall, I would enthusiastically recommend Aloha! (In fact I've already given their information to my daughter-in-law.) We felt the cost was more than fair for the quality of the work. The deck will be there long after we are gone!

They came out to talk thru the project and discussed options but no hard sell (which I appreciate). They assign a project manager (Blake in my case) to coordinate and keep things on schedule. However, the heroes of the project were Michael + Jonathan who built our fence. The took out the prior fence and checked in with our 96 yr old neighbor that we share the fence with to make sure he approved. He did! The walked me thru the finished fence and even added a "puppy protector" mini fence to keep our dog contained. They were super respectful, kind and FAST. It looks great and with the great warranty, we couldn't be happier.

He was able to come out the next day and sent an estimate that night. He took a lot of pictures of our roof outside and in our attic. We scheduled the job and he exceeded our expectations. Hugo replaced shingles, addressed issues in the attic and examined the rest of the roof. I appreciate that Hugo was early to the initial consultation and the work appointment. He completed our request and then some. The company name says St Joseph Roofing and Deck Repair but he can do much more than that. More recently, Hugo installed laminate flooring on our uneven floor. To minimize debris, he took the planks down our steep stairs to make each cut outside. Highly recommend.

He even found the particular deck stain that we wanted. Hugo and a helper moved some large flower pots and so forth off of the decks to be cleaned, and came back the day after they finished the staining to move them back again. His crew did a great job cleaning the deck, and even went beyond by cleaning adjacent areas that were not technically part of the deck itself. In the end they made sure that we were satisfied, and cleaned up thoroughly before leaving. The whole large job took only two days, and at a very fair price!
