We've been customers since 2019, bringing our golden retriever and our Samoyed to get groomed every two months. We would even drive 40 minutes each way to drop them off every time because we loved this place. Not even the $350 price tag at every appt kept us from coming back. I'm pregnant and had a very important scan at the hospital today. Given that we have two large dogs, it's usually very hard to get an appointment. Last week I scheduled an appointment for today and explained that we would be dropping off the dogs on the way to my appointment which was at 12:30. They confirmed that was fine and not an issue at all. We arrived at 11:45 and were told that we were too late to our appointment and they could not accommodate us with an insanely rude attitude. I explained the situation and what I had originally been told on the phone, to which they responded with "it wasn't me you spoke to." I explained that we've been loyal customers for 7 years, and that we always get a call if we're more than 5 minutes late. We didn't get one today. They told me "they never call" lol. I kept explaining about our unique circumstances and if there was anything they could do to help, to which they replied "no." We ended up having to drive 45 minutes back home to drop off our dogs, and beg the hospital to squeeze me in 45 minutes late to my appointment. The amount of anxiety they caused me was just unnecessary. But that's not even what bothered me the most. It was the utter lack of empathy, and understanding we were shown despite being loyal customers for over 7 years. No apology for their miscommunication, just the absolute worst attitude I've received as a customer in a while. TLDR; if you have big dogs, go somewhere else. Theres a reason their instagram only shows small dogs, they really don't have the capacity to handle big dogs with any margin of error, even if the error is their own. Time to find a new place.

Our rescue was already a great, well-behaved dog, but she had some counter surfing habits from her prior life experience and we also wanted to prepare her to become a therapy dog. She learned the foundations of all the basics we expected during that two weeks, and Erin showed us how to keep consistent with her at home. Things are going great and we can't recommend GS K9 enough! I am sure all the trainers are great but we are partial to Erin as she really has a great personality for this, she is energetic and connected really well with our dog. This now opened more doors for him which we had him signed up for GDC training and sent to him off to train further with their top trainer. After completing his training for a month he was brought home by his trainer, and we were trained on how to continue on how he was trained repetitively. We discussed further training with his trainer that day about guard dog training, and he agreed that he would train him further and to call for scheduling. Now this is where things go not good. We have called multiple times to schedule with his trainer and we were told that they would get back to us. They did not get back to us and several weeks went by. We called again speaking with Lauren who assured me that they would call me back about guard dog training because she needed to speak with the owners about the schedule. No phone call was returned from her. So we called again and spoke with Danielle who informed that they were not doing any guard dog training, and they don't know when they will again! This is a K9 training facility that does all types of training! Why are we now being told that you Don't train for guard dogs when our personal trainer who had our pup at his training facility and trained him told us that you do? Then I asked if they could recommend another facility that trained for guard training and we were told that they would email several recommendations to us. Again they didn't send us any emails referring us to other facilities! Why after being with Garden State K9, and bringing our pup to their facility for training for months to graduate the S.T.A.R. Program so he could continue on working with this facility that trained for everything we were told by the way. As well as seen Private sessions with our trainer before we had our pup trained by him. On top of the Thousands of Dollars we have paid this facility and we never had a single problem. So we don't understand why they have treated us like this after so long training with them? We had no issues paying their fees for training and we would have gladly continued to pay for his training advancement fees. This is why we are Not sure as a rating. We gave 3 Stars for their great training. They lost 2 Stars because they treated us poorly we feel. Fido Fidelis has truly made me a better person and a better dog owner--this review is long overdue…read more It's a long one, but worth the read. We started working with Fido Fidelis in 2022, and Pete has been training our dogs for nearly four years. His specialty is working with "challenging" dogs--those who are human-reactive, dog-reactive, struggle with separation anxiety, and more. Simply put, he is the best in the business. Pete is fantastic with puppy training and general behavior work. He helped train our blue heeler/schnauzer mix puppy in just two weeks and played a crucial role in helping our high-energy pup successfully integrate into our family. But his impact didn't stop there. Our older dog, Rio (a pit mix), had a difficult past--she was attacked as a puppy by a resource-guarding dog at a dog park, which made her reactive around other dogs. For over a year, we worked with Pete to help her tolerate others, knowing she didn't need to love every dog, but needed to coexist peacefully. When we decided to rescue our second dog, Bailey, in June 2023, Pete was our very first call. He not only refreshed Rio's foundational training but thoughtfully used that process--alongside Bailey's training--to help Rio understand that Bailey was a friend, not a threat. Within weeks, the two became inseparable. They now play, cuddle, and genuinely enjoy each other's company--something we once weren't sure was possible. Even more impressive, Rio has begun forming positive relationships with other dogs. With Pete's guidance, we've taken things slowly and intentionally, and she's now comfortable with select dogs. We've even started fostering, which would have been unimaginable before working with him. So how does Pete do it? His approach is incredibly well-rounded. He doesn't just train dogs--he trains owners. He uses a balanced, thoughtful methodology (including the four quadrants of training), tailoring his approach to each individual dog and household. There's no one-size-fits-all solution here--Pete meets you and your dog exactly where you are. We've been through a lot with our dogs, and honestly, I don't know where we'd be without Pete. If I could give Fido Fidelis 100 stars, I would. After four years of working together, I recommend him to everyone I meet without hesitation.

I've spent the last few weeks contemplating writing this review but I feel I need to in order to be…read morehonest with other dog owners about my poor experience. First, let me preface by saying the owner took full responsibility for this horrible employee and refunded me. He also did not treat my dog poorly, but did fail to review the videos before the awful employee uploaded them to my pets report card. I dropped my dog off for board in train based on all the reviews. The place was a bit beat up in side but I gave it the benefit of the doubt considering it's a dog facility. When I arrived, Peter the owner shared all the details about training. He was also quick to advise what he did or didn't agree with (dog parks, way to feed dogs, etc). But again fine, as this is his area of expertise, training dogs. So I left and went about my way, excited for my dog to be trained and confident. Well that didn't happen unfortunately as we picked her up a week early. On day six, 2 extremely disturbing videos were loaded to my account. This incompetent employee was calling the other dog in training really vulgar words, told her to shut the f up, and at the end of the other video said she "hates these fkn dogs" to my dog and the other one. It was really disgusting to watch as my dog and the other dog Mazie seemed terrified of her too. Once I saw this, I immediately called Peter to get my dog out of there. What happened was really unfortunate and again, not Peter, but he's reliable and responsible for his employees. I was out of town, had to arrange an early pickup for my dog, and at the end of it all my dogs not trained. It was a waste of time and I'm really disappointed this happened. I'm not here to bash a small business, but this was really negligent and I believe others need to know the negative experience we encountered and how this ultimately was an incredible inconvenience and much added stress. I really hope this monster of an employee didn't harm my dog behind the camera. That's what keeps me restless and the reason I was uncomfortable keeping quiet. I hope Peter assesses and evaluates his employees thoroughly moving forward. I believe his best interest is there, and he does train dogs well, but the entire team needs to be evaluated and closely monitored.
