Fair, but knowing that the minimum price for a service call is $258 would be a fair thing to be told over the phone, especially in this economy. It took one minute for the tech to tell me that when the person on the phone wouldn't or couldn't. I previously had them fix my ice machine and it broke again and twice ended up just buying new appliances after they came because the cost of fixing them was almost as much as getting new machines. Maybe stupid on me for continuing to call them.

Carl showed up right away and did mention the fee would be $125 which I agreed to since I was desperate to get my dishwasher fixed. He looked at the dishwasher and said it is a cheap model (whatever I thought). Anyway, he said well there is nothing I can do. So, I said can you at least look at it before you decide that. He opened the dishwasher and said, "No you need a new dishwasher". I paid him the $125 service fee which he asked to make it out to "cash". I Just wanted him out since I knew he was full of it. The service appointment lasted five minutes so that says a lot. I called someone in my complex who was able to get it fixed. I am still getting a new dishwasher but feel I was taken advantage of. I would like to get my $$ back but I agreed to the $125 service visit. Not sure if this is a real company. Not even sure if Carl is licensed for repairs.
