I had to walk all the way through to the back wall of the store before I am greeted warmly by an employee. I replied, "Hello! I'm looking for an outfit!" "Sure!" she said genuinely, "Let me help you! I'll take you around the store." I can tell she's going to be good at this. "Oh, don't worry about remembering everything I've picked out, I'll write this all up for you at the end." Wait. Is this surfy looking hot shorty actually HELPING me? Or is she just into the fact that I look like a businessman today because I am wearing my best baby blue business shirt and carrying my professional-looking black suitcase? The surf shop located 112-118 Rundle Mall is clearly "one of the best" I've experienced so far. (Am I allowed to say that cliche phrase again?) I was there for quite a while for what felt like at least 45 minutes, the employee was amazingly helpful, very friendly, got my joke about how "that red dress you've chosen is not going to last very long on my imaginary girlfriend" and...dare I say, she was sexy-lookin'. Not only was she sexy, but the beach straw hat, sexy red dress, sunnies, and shoes that she picked out for me was definitely the best looking outfit chosen by a a shop assistant so far. Obviously coming back here to bring sexy back. Honeymoon holiday gift for my next girlfriend? This is the place for that. I wonder what other shop can top this?

Clothing, swim wear, shoes, boards, and bags. The staff are generally very helpful young whipper snappers. I don't shop here anymore, however I certainly used to. Surf shops were once my only outlet for fashion items, but my taste has since matured. But, if you feel like being a walking advertisement with the brand logo of your new t-shirt splashed across the fron of it, be my guest, it's one of the best places to go!

This is a bizarre little shop filled with a lot of completely random Australiana gear, along with…read moresome very useful beach-goer equipment. The name of the shop caught my attention, and I presumed it would be a poxy range of tourist items - and it certainly has plenty of these. However, if I was a tourist unprepared for an Australian summer, I would be quite happy to find a place like this. They sell thongs, hats, sunscreen, boardshorts and plenty of daggy t-shirts to keep the sun off. They also sell sunscreening moisturiser, tea tree soap and eucalyptus oil. Their range of hats is one of the best around the area. There are, of course, boomerangs and prints of aboriginal art for sale. They sell kids clothing saying cute things (as they always do) and plenty of fridge magnets and stuffed koalas. However, there is plenty in here that you might not expect, and it really is a very useful store.

Ummm, apparently there are a lot of people who LOVE Glenelg?! At least enough to warrant a store…read morechocka block full of random branded souveniers and clothing! I would have thought there would have to be a constant plethora of Asian and Pommie tourists around for sales to keep the store proffitable, but apparently we Adelaidians like to remember our last trip down the road! Anywho, for those of you out there who are deeply in Love with our most popular beach destination, this is most definately to shop to grab something that will share your love with the world! Shirts, aprons, shorts and for the man who enjoys the odd beer....wait for it.....stubby holders! Go Nuts!

This Surf Central has a surprisingly large range of kids' clothing, for boys and girls, as well as…read morea lot of women's clothing. Their prices are very high for the kind of stuff you can buy at a shop nearby for less than half the price, though there are some great designs in here - there's a gold on black dress I really like, but no way would I pay $90 for a casual beach dress. Their range of swim wear is quite good, with a couple of one-pieces, but mostly bikinis. There are lots of colours and patterns and different levels of 'support' in their bikinis, which is useful if you're after something specific. At the back is a usual range of Havaianas, but not other kind of footwear. Around the counter are some accessories and sunnies. I see nothing special about this store. Their prices are on par with most surf shops - expensive.

This is your typical surf store that virtually offers the same as every other. The one thing I did…read morelove was that they had a clearance sale on all clothing with 20% storewide. This is almost unheard of at JR's or the like so it is really great to see a surf shop offering that kind of sale and discount. In terms of stock is has the usual, a selection of shoes including a wall of Haviannas at the back and skate and casual shoes. There were some nice looking handbags, shoulder bags and clutches and the usual accessories .There was also the cutest range of kids and babies wear with tiny little rashies if your little one is into being trendy and sun smart at the beach.

Okay, I was tempted...) They have a mixture of generic current fashion (those mermaid tail skirts) as well as some great styles that you won't see elsewhere. Their prices are great, most pieces under $40, and there is a decent range of sizes, even though on first entry you assume they'll all be tiny, judging by the two petite girls running the store. Never fear, there are still size 12s! (Though I didn't check if it went above this.) Their sales racks are really worth a look, with everything on them $10. It's an interesting little shop, and good to have a newbie on the block. Check it out!

The jewellery is also very cute and affordable. This is one of those boutiques that I have to quickly stop into every time I walk past, whether I'm planning to buy something or not. The girls working here are lovely, friendly and always happy to help. Definitely one to try.
