Clothes Line Saga oozes quirky personality along a very commercial street. Its charm starts at the front door, with the little signs that say "This is a nice shop."
In terms of their clothes, I've never found anything that really caught me. Truth be told, I am much more an op-shopper and less a 'vintage store' shopper, as I invariably find that they clothing is over-priced. However, if you're really looking for retro, they have a great selection of true 70s and 80s fashion. If you want to get a sense of what is fashionably retro, you can get it here. Bold, horrendous floral prints, stretch materials, high waists and short short skirts there are plenty of. However, in terms of slightly more original oddities, they don't have a lot that really catches my interest.
However, as a specialty store, they have their niche worked out and they do it well. Their clothing-filled basement has a fantastic atmosphere, and even if the clothes aren't your thing, it's always an interesting place to browse. read more
