I had to walk all the way through to the back wall of the store before I am greeted warmly by an employee. I replied, "Hello! I'm looking for an outfit!" "Sure!" she said genuinely, "Let me help you! I'll take you around the store." I can tell she's going to be good at this. "Oh, don't worry about remembering everything I've picked out, I'll write this all up for you at the end." Wait. Is this surfy looking hot shorty actually HELPING me? Or is she just into the fact that I look like a businessman today because I am wearing my best baby blue business shirt and carrying my professional-looking black suitcase? The surf shop located 112-118 Rundle Mall is clearly "one of the best" I've experienced so far. (Am I allowed to say that cliche phrase again?) I was there for quite a while for what felt like at least 45 minutes, the employee was amazingly helpful, very friendly, got my joke about how "that red dress you've chosen is not going to last very long on my imaginary girlfriend" and...dare I say, she was sexy-lookin'. Not only was she sexy, but the beach straw hat, sexy red dress, sunnies, and shoes that she picked out for me was definitely the best looking outfit chosen by a a shop assistant so far. Obviously coming back here to bring sexy back. Honeymoon holiday gift for my next girlfriend? This is the place for that. I wonder what other shop can top this?

Clothing, swim wear, shoes, boards, and bags. The staff are generally very helpful young whipper snappers. I don't shop here anymore, however I certainly used to. Surf shops were once my only outlet for fashion items, but my taste has since matured. But, if you feel like being a walking advertisement with the brand logo of your new t-shirt splashed across the fron of it, be my guest, it's one of the best places to go!

They sell plenty of board shorts, bathers, thongs, maxi dresses and anything else you can think of that reminds you of the beach. I would say this store is directed more towards teenagers and people in their late twenties. That being said, if you're a fitness guru and a regular surfer or swimmer it's definitely the place for you. All your beach wear is easy to find at Jetty Surf. Unfortunately I find the clothes are a little overpriced but sometimes you're lucky to get a good bargain on something.

The name of the shop caught my attention, and I presumed it would be a poxy range of tourist items - and it certainly has plenty of these. However, if I was a tourist unprepared for an Australian summer, I would be quite happy to find a place like this. They sell thongs, hats, sunscreen, boardshorts and plenty of daggy t-shirts to keep the sun off. They also sell sunscreening moisturiser, tea tree soap and eucalyptus oil. Their range of hats is one of the best around the area. There are, of course, boomerangs and prints of aboriginal art for sale. They sell kids clothing saying cute things (as they always do) and plenty of fridge magnets and stuffed koalas. However, there is plenty in here that you might not expect, and it really is a very useful store.

However, I'm still a fan of the beachwear that surf shops are full of. This store has a huge range of teeny, tiny bikinis, and all the well known brands like Roxy, Quicksilver, and Rip Curl (who I'm so proud of for having a store in Times Square). Now I'm extra sun-smart in my ageing state I love checking out the hats as well, anything to avoid that leather handbag look when I'm 40. I still don't think the city stores can compete with the surf shops down south on the coast, they feel super authentic, but for some beach babe clothing it's all good. It's clothing style is mostly casual and party dresses, with a few more formal dresses. It's pretty much all dresses, with some tops and skirts being devoured by the masses of cheap dresses. CHEAP. So very cheap. I think it is aimed at a younger market of girls - teenage - who buy something, wear it once, then come out to buy something new. It's actually a feasible thing to do when each dress costs $10. There's some good stuff hiding in here though. Some of the styles are quite original, if you like patterns and lots of colour (which I conveniently do!) You'll have to be patient though - it takes effort to haul your way through the tightly packed racks, especially if you want something above a size ten (again, my suspicions about all the teenagers they're marketing at who are mostly a size 6.)

A beautiful black dress for only $30. I couldn't ask for much more. Unfortunately it's not always like that. The store is incredibly small. More than one person in the store and it gets crowded! No joke, it's insane! It's also really hard to look for clothing items. Everything is on a couple of racks and really close together. You have to search through everything until you can find something. Considering how small the store is it's very well stocked. It's just too much of a hassle to shop there. They also only tend to keep sizes 6-8. If you're lucky you will find a bigger size, but it's pretty rare.

This strange store has popped out of nowhere, with no phone number, no website, no listing on…read moreCentro Arndale's page, and a whole lot of super cheap clothing. I love it! It inhabits an unrenovated shop front with the innards of the roof exposed. It's range of clothing is somewhat odd. They sell mainly women's casual clothing, and a lot of cheap work wear, like navy and black pants and plain shirts. Their women's t-shirts are very cheap - mostly around $5 - and they have a large rack of very short pleated skirts, that look almost like school skirts, except they're too short and have no insignia. There are a few evening dresses - also crazily cheap at around $40 - but these look their price, whereas their other stock doesn't look quite as cheap as it is. The shop assistant is very friendly, but leaves you to browse undisturbed, which I always appreciate. I'm not sure how long this shop will stay here, so have a look while you can.
