Apparently two of his employees were out, so he came himself & did a complete walk-through of the master bedroom, sitting room, two walk-in closets (one with a full-sized velvet couch) and bathroom. I did get an estimate from another company, but we decide to go with Pure Maintenance because they would not only do the mold remediation, but thoroughly clean the ducts and sanitize the grates as well. I could not have been happier to have chosen this company. It took them four days, and we are so pleased with the professionalism, the thoroughness, and the results. I would highly recommend them! And if we ever have mold again (which we hope never happens, but we do live in Florida!), we will call Pure Maintenance again!

The underlying cause of the mold was never properly investigated. The company performed the mold testing and remediation but did not identify the source of the moisture or determine why the mold developed in the first place. They later claimed that I told them not to inspect the HVAC system because it was new. That is incorrect. I simply stated that the HVAC system was new; I never told them not to inspect it. The HVAC system was ultimately not the cause of the problem anyway. What disappointed me most was how the company responded when the mold returned. Rather than offering to reinspect the property, correct the problem, or provide a refund, they placed the blame on me. I gave them an opportunity to resolve the situation, but they only stated that the product they sprayed must have worked because otherwise the mold problem would have been worse. I also later learned that Florida generally prohibits the same company from performing both a mold assessment and mold remediation on the same property within a 12-month period when the work falls under Florida's mold-licensing laws. This company performed both the testing and the remediation. Overall, the mold returned very quickly, the root cause was never identified, and the company made no meaningful effort to correct the problem. Because of the cost of the failed remediation and the company's unwillingness to resolve my concerns, I am now considering my legal options and do not recommend this company.

They charged me over $200, so I questioned the reason in that I felt their original installation caused the issue; it had been less than a year, and the piece that fell off wasn't secured properly. BJ refused to accommodate, stating it wasn't his fault although he had placed the pump in the tank. I disagreed and stated that if the part had been secured correctly, it would not have fallen off. I yielded and paid Moore's. Now, today....11/20/2025 I have an issue with the tank once again. It's been a while, but I call Moore's Sand and Septic because I like them. BJ called me back shortly after I made the new appointment to tell me he refuses to come to my house because I upset his driver when I questioned the past service and why it cost me over $200 for them to screw a bolt on that they didn't tighten. It seems I hurt his feelings because, as a consumer and a customer, I questioned why I was being charged. He said, "Your wife was rude to my driver." She was not rude. Once work got started we had cameras set up in our house so we would check up on them from our hotel room. The crew was very messy. They didn't cover any of our belongings while they hung drywall. They left trash everywhere in our house (food wrappers, soda cans). They goofed off, watched videos on their phones and did very shoddy work. I'd say at least a third of their work had to be redone. This was all because of what would be a constant problem: no supervisor on site. EVER. The contractor in charge of our job was never to be seen. He would occasionally stop by first thing in the morning to drop off supplies, but was never around more than 10 minutes. I was in regular contact with him trying to understand why things were taking so long and why they were being done so poorly, but I had to also figure out that he was a "fast talker". He would constantly make deadlines and miss them. Promise things would be fixed, but they wouldn't get fixed or it wouldn't be done correctly and needed to be fixed a second time. This became the common routine since he never inspected any of the work done. He also wouldn't provide his workers with proper materials and they were always back and forth to Home Depot or Lowe's. I can understand running into an issue and needing extra supplies, but this was every day. One day I happened to be home while they were working and they wanted to stop work because they had been given the wrong toe kicks to match our cabinets so I went to Home Depot myself and bought them so they could carry on with other work. It was ridiculous. This also meant that I became the defacto crew leader at times. I had to follow everything they did and make notes of what wasn't done correctly or done at all and report back to the company like I worked for them. Our bathroom needed a new vanity and I had to measure the space for a new one because he couldn't be bothered to. Surprise surprise, my measurement was incorrect because I'm not a contractor (didn't account for outward swinging doors) but he bought a vanity based on my incorrect measurements anyway. Two more days lost This went on and on for months. Meanwhile, my wife and newborn son have been stuck on the second floor because the first floor is a jobsite run by a company with no sense of urgency, but very excited to get paid. I made the mistake of giving them payment up front for the first half of work and I think that had a lot to do with them dragging their heels because once they heard I had a second check from my insurance company they would not stop asking about it. It made me wonder if they were having cash flow problems because they seemed desperate for the money. In case anyone reading this doesn't know already, you DO NOT have to pay up front for ANY WORK. Payments are made when work is done like any other business. But the owners and supervisors at Anderson insist they are entitled to that money immediately. It took a conference call with my insurance adjuster and them to lay things out plainly. They had dragged their heels long enough and it was time to finish the job or not get paid. They magically completed everything in a week.
