We were driving through Monroe and thought we'd try this PUB, which is much larger inside than it looks from the outside. There was a motorcycle event going on, and we were really lucky to get a parking spot. We weee also lucky to find a place to sit, there was a live band setting up and people weren't leaving. I finally went to the bar to get a drink, I think JR Phinickeys was very low staffed. We did see some food coming out but we didn't get served. We listened to the band for a while, they were excellent, then we left. We will have to stop in again where there isn't a special event happening. This is a good venue for live music read more

Todd won't leave a drink half empty or a single piece of trash on your table for more than 2.5 seconds and makes the best kamikaze and lemon drop shots you've ever had. Cassie, Darya, and Madison greet you with gorgeous smiles and delicious drinks (Maddie puts the icing on the cake with an amazing voice on karaoke Tuesdays). I came in around noon on a weekday for lunch. It was very cold outside and in the bar so I asked to start with a Bailey's coffee. After considering the time of day, I asked if I could switch to Bailey's and decaf, to which the bartender replied, "no, I won't make a whole pot of decaf for one customer". I asked if nobody else would drink it (although it was only me and one other customer present), to which she replied, "no, those aren't 'our people'". I've been here a few times with friends or group events. This dive bar is small, with a few dartboard stations, a karaoke area, and a good amount of seating. The bar is equipped, the kitchen is usually open, plus staff is friendly and accommodating! Taco Tuesday night is pretty tasty, lol just remember to bring in hot sauce and other accoutrement. Tacos are served with beef, cheese, and lettuce. Plain but good... AND CHEAP! Lol gotta love that. I gave four stars because there's always room for improvement. Specifically, with seating available! You really have to play musical chairs in order to find one that you're not going to slip out of or fall apart once seated! I tried Yelp, called some friends, and then stumbled into this PUB since it was the closest. We parked, put our masks on and walked in. We felt like we were from outer space or something. Walking in with masks... When no one in the bar was wearing one... And they were all staring at us. We tried to find a table to walk up to, but the tables are huge (seat 8 people) and 1 or 2 people were at each one. We weren't sure what we were supposed to do so we kept waking until we reached the other side and there was a small cocktail table next to the darts. It took a little while to get someone to take out drink order, so we played darts and just hung out. We were able to order Picklebacks which was nice, we played 2 rounds of darts and then headed out. I would pay to have this review at the top of the list if I could. I visited JR Phinickey's last night, and the experience was excitingly horrific. This circus of a place needs to be shut down. You can thank your bartender, Britney (sp?) for being the root of all issues. Once she was off duty, she decided to hang out with a group of friends and get drunk (which is no issue, as long as you don't continue trying to "run" the bar while intoxicated). After getting intoxicated, she started getting really rude with customers. Dimming/brightening the lights during important pool league matches because she was frustrated and couldn't understand why it took anyone "4 hours to play pool". Britney was profusely talking shit to the pool players, and after she couldn't get a rise out of the pool players, she went straight behind the bar (off duty) trying to talk shit and kick a woman out. A whole shit show went down. Britney put her hand on a man's neck who she tried kicking out next, and when he pushed her off, a bystander threw him to the ground. Once the man got up off the floor, a couple of the pool players noticed he had a knife up his sleeve and he was escorted out shortly after. Whether or not the bar is over serving, something else is certainly wrong with management. Sounds like Britney has the owner wrapped around her finger, but she's going to be the death of this place. read more

The reason I give a 3 was the servers seemed very pre occupied with certain people and kept going outside and back inside. Kind of seemed like there was drama going on. Which caused the service to be slower and didnt feel very welcoming. Our bartender was nice and took off our wings because there was a delay. lol this places loses appeal over time. The majority of the regulars are insistent that they are responsible for "keeping the lights on" - like that is some sort of badge. Some of the bartenders don't give a shit about you and the owner turns a blind eye while other rockstar employees (only one, now former) kept the place operating - she was literally the backbone of the place - and still got treated like shit. Holes in the ceiling linger for over a year, pool sticks are trash. Also, don't order a pizza if you aren't expecting a completely burnt, black, offering on a slab. I won't get into political views in this review but my advice is to not have one if you walk into that bar. You'll be ridiculed by just about everyone in there. This bar prides itself on, well I already said it, pride and what that can get you in a small farm town. My advice? Swing by literally any other place. read more

Actually it is not as bad as Sarah described. Depends on what night you go, being young i went usually on fridays. JRF does have a dance floor and DJ booth, separate section with a stage wich usually occupied during the week. music choice is selected in the jukebox. This place not filled only with old folks, there are bikers, young men and females, middle aged. Great group of people to be around. Agree about the food. :) Prices on drinks are not so bad. Tonight I came in there after 7 to watch football game & have a beer. So I sat there for at least 20 minutes without anybody waiting on me & it was semi busy but not really busy. So I saw bartender at other end of bar just bullshiting with other people, but he never once even looked at me. So now I know he would never wait on me so I went to store & bought a beer & came back to watch game. Then the fat bartender finally noticed me only to kick me out, but not only that as I was leaving he physically throw me out the door.
