Our home was invaded by pesky squirrels. Who ya gonna call? No Ghostbusters won't help. Absolute Pest Control sent a pest specialist, Josh to assist. It has been a few weeks and Josh has visited to install a one-way "trap." This allowed the critters to leave our attic crawl space and then be sealed a few weeks later. He sealed one side of the house first, put traps on the other side and then returned to seal them out permanently. It has been another few weeks and it is still quiet. I have used absolute pest control for several years. Unfortunately, at my last service call June 27, 2023, the technician applied the treatment while it was sprinkling and then within minutes after her pulling out of my driveway, the heavy rain started for several hours. I called absolute to request her to return, or to schedule another appointment for an additional treatment. They refused to do so stating that the chemicals, if not applied while it was raining would withstand rain. I find it hard to believe that during a heavy rain within MINUTES after application the chemicals would not be washed away since the treatment was still wet and visible on the ground and house as she was pulling out of the driveway and the heavy rain started. I was told by her and another technician, after this happened once before, to call for an additional treatment if it rained. I did not address the issue the first time this occurred, but When I called to request an additional treatment this most recent time I was told that because the treatment was not applied while it was raining they would not honor my request for an additional treatment. Twice my treatment has been washed away by rain. The first time I decided not to be a pain and I did not address it even though told (by both technicians) that I should call to reschedule an additional treatment if it rained. I think it is extremely poor business practice to treat a loyal customer of several years this shoddily. As I type this, it is still raining... I would not recommend them to anyone and will look for another pest control service. read more

Overall, I highly recommend this company for any job. Josh there removed an inactive bald face hornets' nest on roof which is very difficult to climb. The price was cheaper than a top rated competitor. To me it was quite a story. My whole story about this job is as follows. I had a bald faced hornet's nest from last year (took a while to figure this out, a bee expert told me). I know it's inactive after a season. Basically, this hornet is very fierce and defends its nest bravely (same bee expert told me this too and confirmed it from google search). Normally, I would have no problem taking this inactive nest out of my house without a help, but this is on the roof, about 40 feet high. And to access the roof, for me, I need 32 feet ladder, since the front side access (which need shorter ladder like 16) is 95% covered with solar panel. I had to take this nest out and tried on my own. Tried pressure washer with extension from distance, but didn't work, so I called around. I actually searched for pest control in angie's list. And I called top rated one there (has 144 A reviews) and showed the pictures that I have taken (the height is the main issue). It wanted to charge $275 since it is up very high and told me that they can't remove it without marks. For this, they recommended to call pressure washer company. But pressure washer company didn't want to do the job, so I called back the pest control. They said again 275 but when I asked if I can use Angie's list coupon (15% for the first job), they told me that they can't help me, telling me something about solar panel wiring being difficult to handle. So I called next top rated one, which is Absolute Pest Control (has 115 A reviews in Angie's list). I showed them the pictures, and told that you would need 32 ladder. I was told that it's going to be $175. A few days later, one guy showed up and he realized that he can't go up that high and he brought 24 ladder. So he went back and probably talked to others that it's going to need much more effort or longer ladder. Then I got a call that it can do the job for $250. I was fine with it, since I really wanted to get rid of it and still cheaper than the competitor. So, another guy came, and his name is Josh. He's much more fit and nimble. But he brought 24 ladder, so I was like, here we go again. Josh, however, didn't need 32 ladder to go up and is so nimble that, with a small passage (about 4 inches wide) toward to the top of the roof, he went up and did the job perfectly, without any mark. He said he does all the 'crappy' jobs and told me it was bald faced hornets' nest (which I knew) and bald faced hornets penetrates into protective gear (which again I knew), so he was also very knowledgeable on the issue. He was also very friendly to listen what I had to tell him and understand the situation quickly too. He only charged $175+tax for the job. I feel good about its management too, although it had some mishap (the rep who got my call and pictures knew the job needed the long ladder, but send someone who doesn't have one), eventually it sends a right person for the job. Two times they visited me, they called me in advance when they would arrive, and a courtesy call to confirm the reservation too. read more

I had a wasp nest. They said I had 6 months guarantee. They failed to say it was a guarantee for that one nest! The wasps have relocated 4 feet away from the original nest and they want to charge me more. They said I didn't read the fine print. They just told me I had a 6 month guarantee. $275 for a one time spray. Everyone kept trying to sell me a bigger contract, receptionist, technician, and supervisor. He answered questions, provided explanations in clear laymans' terms that I could understand. Just contacted the Schenectady office with a concern for red wasps in ground. Treatment area not to exceed 15 x 15 and price would vary between 175 and 225. When asking why the range the lad that answered didn't really give a good explanation, actually it was kinda weak. I'm not someones fool, will be contacting someone to get this handled. read more
