I was an Orkin customer for over 7 years and they were really good in the beginning. For the last few years, they have been absolutely terrible. They do not come when scheduled, they have changed the chemicals that are applied and sprayed around the house. So, it's takes multiple times to stop ants from coming into the house. The technicians who come are nice and the issues I have with Orkin are NOT related to them, only the customer service and lack of concern for the service they are providing. The cost is high for what you get. You can buy better products from Lowes for a tenth of the price. read more

Awful. I was paying 115.00 a month for them to spend 10 minutes spraying the outside areas of my house only to sit outside and still have wasps and ants all over the place. They mix up days and services and customer service is completely unhelpful. Have signed up twice and canceled twice. Never again. read more

I had mosquitoes service with Orkin. They come and spray around your yard to bring down mosquitoes activity but it doesn't work at all according our experience. And please do not go by they will come and give you free spray if you have mosquitoes activity after spray. That never happens, they will keep scheduling someone and no one will ever show up to actually do the spray. Whoever was wearing short sleeves or shorts in our yard were eaten up by mosquitoes. we called after 3 cancellations back to back over 3 weeks of time the manager gets nasty and hangs up the phone on you not once but twice if you call back. So don't expect to resolve any issues by management. Just don't waste your time and money with them. Find someone that can actually help with mosquitoes problems to enjoy your yard in summer. read more

I elected to hire Orkin last November to help with a mouse issue. I was told that after about a month I should not see any more mice. That lasted about 2 months and then mouse excrement and others evidence was seen. Orkin technicians came to my house and found other entrances. This occurred approximately every 3 months. i now have a renewal bill to pay although the problem still exists. I have spoken to the local company representatives and corporate asking for a reduction in the yearly renewal since problem was never taken care of. I was told it is against company policy for a reduction. I am not renewing and would never use this company again. Let me say that all technicians were polite and came every time called. read more

In was notified that I had an appointment on 8/9/2022. Great, however, I wasn't going to be home. I called on 8/4/2022 to reschedule, left a message. On Monday, I received a message they would be at my house between2-4 on the 9th. Called again on the 9th, but they came anyway, billed for a full service. Today is 9/15/2022, still have NOT received a call after multiple messages being left for Latham NY office. Sent an email to the manager and no response from him either. Billed for an incomplete service. Any help would be appreciated. I am billed automatically on my credit card. read more

I have spoken to multiple people disputing my invoices and keep being told the Branch Manager will call me back. I have now made 3 phone calls over 2 weeks and still nobody has called back. This is the worst customer service I have experienced and will never use this company again. read more

Many no shows to scheduled appointments. Then they call and provide only a couple of hours notice for a visit. Today, a supervisor was to come and view some issues with their gutter cap installation. No show and no call. Not possible to reach anyone on the phone. Not good. read more

no one answers the phone. They show up -or don't whenever they want. I tried at least 10 times to call and ask them not to show up at a house that was rented. I left several messages But show up they did and bothered our tenants. They completely ignored all of my messages! We cancelled our service never again! read more

I would leave a negative review if I could. I cannot believe that a company as big as Orkin would allow this level of unprofessionalism . I called last week and made a same day appointment to inspect and handle a rodent problem we're having. They never showed up, and no one contacted us to let us know no one would be available. When I called to see what happened, the man was rude and said they'd call us the next day to "figure it out." No one called us, so 2 days later I called to try again and I was told I already had an appointment in an hour. I didn't make an appointment. They were just going to send someone without letting us know? No heads up or check in? Nonetheless, I accepted the appointment because we were desperate. The employee who came wasn't able to do an inspection like we had asked, but spoke to his boss Evan who said he'd be by the next day between 1pm-3pm. Well 3pm came and went and again, no one showed up. Absolutely ridiculous. We'll be advising all of our friends and family to choose other companies. read more

Getting right to the point, Orkin is a rip off. I paid over $950 for mosquito and bee control and got next to nothing for my money. First off, I asked the Orkin tech if their bee service covered carpenter bees. He assured me that it did. However after reading the contract it clearly says Orkin does not control carpenter bees. He lied just to get my business. Well it also does not control stinging insects, bees and wasps as evidenced by the numerous bee stings I have gotten this summer. The last 7 stings occurred on one day while mowing the lawn. The Orkin tech arrived yesterday for his final visit and I showed him the nest where I got stung. He sprayed at least 1/2 a qt. of whatever they use and it had no effect. Like shooting a bear with a bb gun. Also, we have had just as many mosquitos, black flies, and no seeums as we had in previous years without Orkin treatment. The Orkin tech told me I am his only customer who has complained. Another lie. Both my in-laws have the same Orkin tech and are equally dissatisfied. Orkin's add says they are not satisfied till you are satisfied and if they fail to control your pests they will refund your last payment. That is another lie. I have talked to the Orkin Branch manager and asked for my refund. He said he will "reach out" to his boss and see what he says. That was two weeks ago and what have I heard?....crickets. read more

No call no show TWICE. Services paid for not completely fulfilled and neither my local nor regional office attempted to make good on the situation or provide a refund despite my contacting the corporate office. There are a lot of pest control companies in our area - who are owned and run locally - you'd do better to chose one of them. Orkin simply doesn't care about customer satisfaction. read more

We started a contract with Orkin when we purchased our new home since we had both carpenter ant and carpenter bee problems. Scheduling with them is impossible. They either don't show up when they're scheduled to, or they reschedule to another day without telling you, and sometimes just show up without any sort of notification at all. We were just away on vacation and I saw that I had an email from Orkin that a technician had been out while we were away. Upon returning, I was wondering why the Eastern Phoebe's nest that had been on the front porch and is reused by the birds every year, was on the floor, and then I read the report. The technician knocked the bird's nest down! And left it there! We have carpenter ant service - we did not authorize removal of a bird's nest. So not only do they show up without telling you, they do things that you don't want them to. We will not be renewing our contract when it's up. read more

I don't know what I am paying for. I called Orkin for treatment of mice 6 month ago. I was told I shouldn't see any sign of them within 2-3 weeks. Well, they are still here. The technician does not seem very knowledgible. I told him where I have seen signs of them but he didn't put any traps there. The second time he came I practically had to insist he set more traps and where to put them. I have requested a phone call 1 week prior to their regularly scheduled service. They continue to show up whenever they feel it convenient. I am not home so now I need to call them to reschedule and they seemed annoyed. I prepaid my account in advance. The past 2 visits were still billed to my credit card as well as deducted from my prepayment. I called them to reverse the charges and they suggested I just leave the charge for future service. Returning my money seems to be a hassle. read more
