We had JP change out a bunch of outlets, upgrade and move our electrical panel, run wires for new lighting, run a new power line to a detached garage, and upgrade some wall outlets for new appliances. Price wise they were above average which I generally do becasue I don't want to have to babysit or double check everything. We had to upgrade the power from the city to the house so we had to wait on RMP to get that done which was about a three week timeline. For some reason JP didn't want to do any work until RMP was done. It took them 3-4 days of labor to check all the line items and so the delayed other work being done because for some reason they diddn't want to work before the line was upgraded..... made no sense to me. They could have done all the work but the panel upgrade. Next they didn't pull permitting for their work. So on the day RMP shows up, they are also there and so is the city inspector and he slaps a stop work order on the house because electrial permitting wasn't pulled. Another week long delay and I had to go pull permits. So they finish their work permit is pulled all is kosher EXCEPT they didn't put the power line to the garage high enough so it wasn't UP TO CODE! Inspector flagged it. It took JP over a month to get back out to fix that power line. Basically my partner wrote a bad review and then someone finally called me this morning and go figure they had time TODAY to get it done. Between my partner, GC and myself we called or text them (office, techs, any number we could find) at least 25 times and only got their attention with a bad review. Not an electrical review but a review regarding their employees driving and disrespect to others. On Friday April 30, 2021 at 7:34am, van #45 was driving recklessly down highway 89 and onto I-15 southbound. The van was tailgating every car it came into contact with, honking the horn and flashing the vans headlights. One truck attempted to make contact with the van while driving along side of it and the van moved abruptly towards the truck twice as if attempting to hit the truck. I was doing 78 mph once I got into I-15 at Farmington and the van left me like I was sitting still. Looks like an entitled and selfish employee to behave that way towards our community. Hopefully not the values of this company. read more

Called for a free bid and got scheduled for a 11 am to 2 pm appointment. They called me at 9:30 am the day of and asked if the tech could come early and I said yes. She stated the tech would be there by 10:30 am. I sat around and waited, and waited, and waited. They finally showed up at 3:10 pm. I showed them the three light fixtures I was having issues with and they said they would take a look and let me know. The techs were nice enough. At about 3:45 they said they were done so I asked how much it would be to have them fix the issues, they chuckled and said, "we already took care if it." I told them they were just there for a free bid and they said, "they were easy enough fixes." He went outside for about 35 minutes to prepare the bill. I watched him from the window wander around his van talking on the phone laughing while the other sat in the passenger seat. When he came back in he said the bill was $220 for their services. I said that was outrageous and asked why it was so much and he said that was their "standard rate." About an hour after he left he texted me a link to a bill which states they arrived at 2 pm and left at 4 pm. Doesn't seem like an honest company. These guys are top of the line. Mike and Brandon cleaned up my breaker panel and installed several interior and exterior outlets as well as lights for my garage. The conduit runs show their skill - very clean and well done. Mike and Brandon are real gentlemen prompt, polite, and friendly. They went out of their way to accommodate us and take care of extra tasks they weren't called on to do. You can't go wrong working with JP Electrical. read more

Unfortunately, I didn't have the same experience as some of the others that gave them 5 stars. The two JP workers that showed up were nice enough guys but they showed up several hours late and still charged me for the hours they weren't here. They also left for a long time because they didn't have a certain part (which I feel they should've had in their work truck). Again, I was charged for the time that they were gone. I called and spoke to a customer rep to let him know what had occurred. He said they would refund the difference but it's been several months and I haven't heard back from them. I wouldn't recommend hiring JP, but if you do, keep track of their hours because there's a good chance they'll overcharge you. read more

JP electrical was the most expensive estimate that I received. At $150 an hour because they send two people out to every job. Then, they asked if they could move my appointment up from 10 o'clock on Friday to 8 o'clock on Wednesday. I get up early at 7:30 even though I work late and 8 o'clock no one, 8:30 no one, 9 o'clock no one. They show up at about 9:30 to do the work and told me they had an internal meeting that ran over. Pretty inconsiderate. They did not even have the courtesy to text or call and indicate they would be late. I sent them away and will be going with somebody else to do my work. See my google review as I'm a google guide and not as active on yelp - not going to retype it all here but I am a landlord and used these folks 8/5/19 for one of my properties in the avenues and the bill was 110??? Brad the technician (thank you) fixed it quickly - my handymen couldn't solve it and turned out was a grounding issue- i was not on site so expected the typical landlord markup. Seriously impressed. 100% will use them again and I didn't read the other reviews but for my first time calling and no relationship they are the best electric company I have ever used. Sometimes the bill is going to be painful because it requires a lot of work but fastest way to earn my trust is to charge me $110 for a simple (but hidden) fix that other folks couldn't solve. Happy to pay more for bigger issues as they come up but yeah 5 stars easy call them! read more

The estimator called and informed, "We have to depart ways. We can't please you. You'll have to get another contractor to fix your issues." However, he previously stated that if another electrician touched their work, their warranty is void. They left part of the contracted work unfinished. They did not honor their warranty. We'll see what the court says. read more
