The whole staff is friendly, welcoming and they try to ensure the kids have a great day. He was recently diagnosed with autism, while this facility isn't geared to help with the extra needs he has. They do try their hardest to make his day go well as they do with the other kiddos. I see this first hand, I stay a few minutes most days to help him settle in and everyone is always so great. Mrs. Ellen has been a great teacher, she is understanding and loving. The whole staff is awesome!

On one occasion, we picked our child up in the afternoon and his diaper was full of dried poop that had been sitting in there for who knows how long. His skin was bright pink and he screamed in pain as we wiped off the poop from his raw skin. We spoke with the director who promised it would not happen again, yet it did. We have emails documenting everything. To make it worse, after we removed our child from the program, we requested a refund since we had already paid for the month. The director agreed to refund us. We have yet to receive a refund after asking multiple times. Probably wouldn't even be writing this if we received our refund as promised. I hope they can improve, we did like most of the staff!

I would have to pry her off and try to distract her to keep her from crying. She was not the only kid like this, I saw kids up to what looked like 7 years old clinging to their parents begging not to be dropped off. While trying to distract her I noticed there were dirty toys on the shelf that had been put away with what looked like dried baking soda or tooth paste on them. After 3 days of things that just didn't seem right I told them I didn't think it was going to work out and that I would like a refund for the month I had paid for. I wear told that was not possible and I had to give 30 days notice... well, I had not enrolled her but a week before hand so there was no way I could give 30 days notice. She is a toddler and the administrator for some reason stated that she thought my daughter was potty trained (even though she was in a dress with a diaper on and they changed her clothes twice that week without being able to tell me why she needed clothes changed). My daughter never gotten a diaper rash. She came home with such bad diaper rash that I could not pick her up to take her home without crying. I had photos of her butt (family embarrassing photos from the beach on Sunday with my dad) and she does not have a rash Sunday yet on Monday when I picked her up was crying in pain. They tried saying it may have been due to the apple juice she drank. They have the tablets to track when kids come in and go out along with things throughout the day, but they do not give parents access as they do not know how to properly use it yet. On the last morning my daughter was at the daycare I was told that the state of Alabama does not allow parents in classrooms of their children. The teacher literally told me that as a parent I should just let my daughter scream instead of trying to comfort her and ease her into the environment. I had had enough and took my daughter out of the school. They not only refused to refund the month or even 75% of the month, I sent the email request with read receipt and they read it without responding why they would not refund the money.

She is very passionate about her job and my daughter greatly enjoys going here before school and after school. It's a great benefit that Carmen offers to take her to and from school nearby. Her helper Francis is also very interactive and nurturing with the children. My daughter learned a lot before starting Kindergarten. I had planned to enroll her in preschool but decided not too after seeing how much she was learning here, I always recommend Carmen's daycare whenever I have friends or family needing child care service.

The cons were the teacher to child ratio , the size and quality of childcare would slack based on more needy kids versus more independent ones . Also kept mixing up my child's age based on their size and swapped him out into a whole different group the start day . So if your kid is very independent and basically don't cause any problems they're all for it , but if you kid makes any kind of mistakes they will kick them out, no hesitation, from my personal experience. Maybe the other locations are main ones that get bragged on when you bring up the name . I personally don't recommend for a first time daycare parent.

Our experience was not great because we felt they do their utmost to keep their staff to child ratio at the minimum to meet legal standards.This sometimes means shuffling kids and teachers between rooms. Although we never met them, the owners strike me as very cheap and really need to spend a little more money making sure there is consistent staffing. Other major issues are that they don't work well with kids who require some patience. If your child chugs milk from the bottle then they will probably be fine. But if your infant needs some coaxing to eat, they will likely not have enough individual time to devote to them. The same goes for sleeping. The end result is that our child just didn't eat or sleep, which are really the two things you want to happen at a daycare (besides fun). Many of the staff and the director Jenny are extremely kind and nice, but some of the staff are a bit inexperienced, especially for the high cost of this Montessori. We also didn't notice anything that was very "Montessori" about this school -- maybe because our child is an infant -- but it just seems like any other daycare. But if you are in need, I think it is a safe and clean place to keep your child and one of the few daycares in Mobile that is not religiously affiliated.
