I was happy to know my grandson was starting daycare and I am not happy with his care at the moment.

This daycare on numerous occasions did not change our child's diaper for an entire day. Its very obvious because they use different style diapers, and we picked him up in the same diaper we dropped him off in. On one occasion, we picked our child up in the afternoon and his diaper was full of dried poop that had been sitting in there for who knows how long. His skin was bright pink and he screamed in pain as we wiped off the poop from his raw skin. We spoke with the director who promised it would not happen again, yet it did. We have emails documenting everything. To make it worse, after we removed our child from the program, we requested a refund since we had already paid for the month. The director agreed to refund us. We have yet to receive a refund after asking multiple times. Probably wouldn't even be writing this if we received our refund as promised. I hope they can improve, we did like most of the staff! read more

My daughter was at this school Tuesday through Monday. She has been in daycare over 2 years and normally squeals when we pull up and yells "daycare!!" Not at this school. I would have to pry her off and try to distract her to keep her from crying. She was not the only kid like this, I saw kids up to what looked like 7 years old clinging to their parents begging not to be dropped off. While trying to distract her I noticed there were dirty toys on the shelf that had been put away with what looked like dried baking soda or tooth paste on them. After 3 days of things that just didn't seem right I told them I didn't think it was going to work out and that I would like a refund for the month I had paid for. I wear told that was not possible and I had to give 30 days notice... well, I had not enrolled her but a week before hand so there was no way I could give 30 days notice. She is a toddler and the administrator for some reason stated that she thought my daughter was potty trained (even though she was in a dress with a diaper on and they changed her clothes twice that week without being able to tell me why she needed clothes changed). My daughter never gotten a diaper rash. She came home with such bad diaper rash that I could not pick her up to take her home without crying. I had photos of her butt (family embarrassing photos from the beach on Sunday with my dad) and she does not have a rash Sunday yet on Monday when I picked her up was crying in pain. They tried saying it may have been due to the apple juice she drank. They have the tablets to track when kids come in and go out along with things throughout the day, but they do not give parents access as they do not know how to properly use it yet. On the last morning my daughter was at the daycare I was told that the state of Alabama does not allow parents in classrooms of their children. The teacher literally told me that as a parent I should just let my daughter scream instead of trying to comfort her and ease her into the environment. I had had enough and took my daughter out of the school. They not only refused to refund the month or even 75% of the month, I sent the email request with read receipt and they read it without responding why they would not refund the money. read more

The staff seemed nice and helpful at first. After my fifth day or so I was met at the front door by the director Tracy that informed me I was five minutes late. instead of helping me get my three little ones to their classrooms, she vanished, leaving one of my children unattended and alone in her classroom. My child was very traumatized by being alone and I stay to comfort her when I saw her crying on the playground without anyone acknowledging her. Later when I came that afternoon to pick her up I was confronted by Tracy again stating it was my fault for leaving my child unattended, even though she was there, and could have helped us, and we were rushed by her that morning, also for my child's traumatic experience where she was left unattended and crying. No sign of the staff or assistant from the director herself, just placing judgment that it was anybody else's fault but theirs. After that indent, my child did not want to stay there when I would try to drop her off. There was another incident where my same child told me she was very thirsty when I picked her up and she did not drink much water that day. The next day I mentioned it to one of her teachers that snapped at me stating she received water as if my child was lying about the situation. I later spotted this same teacher out on the playground yelling very rudely at other children as well. My two younger kids, in the toddler room, seemed to have been in a better learning environment but I did notice they would come home with poop stains still on their diapers as if they were not getting properly wiped. The last straw of my tolerance was my child being mauled by another child that I was told had done this before. My child was bitten three times on the face and require bandages to stop the bleeding. I was called and assured it was all fine, no worries, but when I got there my heart sank to see how bad it was. We later visited urgent care to make sure she did not need stitches or would have an infection due to the severity. None of my children want to go back and I felt no true responablilty was taken from the staff on any of these incidents. Lastly, I feel they way overpriced me. I was only able to afford two days a week 8:30-2:30 for $1,500 a month. After this incident, I went next door to Corpus Christi and enroll all three kids for five days a week for $1,600. Overall not impressed with the staff or the director. Highly do not recommend it! read more

My son is two and is in the toddler class at Hillcrest and we love it there. Any small issue we have had was addressed immediately. We have also loved all of his teachers. They focus on a new subject every week, and he has come home many times using new words and I could tell they had learned about the solar system or body parts that week. I also really appreciate that they won't try and force potty training on kids before they're ready at this school. read more

My daughter is 4 and has been at Weinackers since she was 12 weeks and I was going back to work. They made things so easy on me in the beginning and I knew my child was in good hands. We love this place so much I can't say enough good. When I compare her classrooms and education against traditional "daycare centers" there is no comparison. Weinackers wins every time! read more

My daughter is 6 & in "kindergarten" (by state standards), & this is her 2nd year at the Hillcrest Montessori. We ABSOLUTELY love this school. I would keep her here through college if I could! My very first impression was the incredibly sweet staff. I went in for an interview & was blown away at the organization & cleanliness of the whole school. There were tons of educational activities & "stations", very bright & colorful posters & materials on the walls, & even class pets! Everything was put in its place & the entire environment was just SO charming I never wanted to leave. My child is the "baby" & has a VERY willful temperament, but the teachers won us over almost instantly & proved to me that my daughter CAN be taught self-control and self-direction. Not only have they helped her develop important social & personal skills, but her learning there is astounding. I just found out this week that she is learning multiplication! At SIX years old! We all love her teacher(s), & I have VERY much enjoyed volunteering as much as I can with her class. The *only* problem I have had is that the tuition is very pricey, which I can't personally afford after this year. Breaks my heart! read more
