With only a few minutes left until closure, Maria didn't hesitate to give me a tour of their beautiful building. They also require an "orientation day" to ensure all pets are a good fit for their facility. I know my sweet baby boy becomes increasingly anxious while I'm away, so I was concerned about how he would handle his orientation. Erica contacted me to let me know he was uncomfortable, but didn't use that as a reason to say he wasn't a good fit, as I assumed they would. Instead, she gave my pet some individualized attention and moved him to a quieter section of the facility, Cedar Park. With updates throughout his orientation from Erica, I was assured he was in truly caring hands. Still, I was a bit nervous to board my dog for 5 days as I traveled across the country for a seminar. Erica suggested bringing him in again before my trip to get him further acclimated. While I was still a little uneasy about leaving him, I knew he'd be in the best care provided in my absence with Perfect Pet Resort. The atmosphere is beautiful and the service is outstanding! Absolutely livid - For years we were happy with The Perfect Pet Resort, but that entirely changed…read moretoday after our 3 dogs stayed for 9 days ($3,000 bill). At booking, I explicitly stated our youngest dog, Pixie (turning one during her stay), was not spayed due to vet recommendations. I also made it clear I wanted my 3 dogs together. Pixie is anxious and I didn't want her alone for 9 days when she is used to being with our other 2 pups. I called twice beforehand to confirm protocols if she went into heat, and was assured they would monitor her and keep her separate from group activities. Despite this, upon drop-off, staff had separated Pixie from her siblings. The person at check-in said they had Pixie staying in a different room. Before drop off, I brushed Pixie out so it would be easy to care for her. She is a long haired Havanese so fur maintenance takes a lot of time. After a stressful back-and-forth and call with a manager, I was told they could downgrade the pups room but would be then be able to keep the together. I agreed to this. During the call it was also revealed they had her incorrectly listed Pixie as spayed. We resolved it: they were finally put together, and management promised extra attention to Pixie in case she went into heat and free cuddle time during her stay. The true breaking point happened at pickup today after a 9-hour drive from SC. In addition to the boarding, I paid for brushing every other day, plus a bath and brush-out on pickup. Pixie was handed back to us completely covered in severe, skin-deep mats across her entire body--behind her ears, legs, belly, right side, back and base of her tail. This proves multiple failures: Zero Brushing: The paid-for brushing services clearly never happened over 9 days. Ignored Grooming: The staff who supposedly bathed her today completely ignored severe matting. Lack of Oversight: Basic handling would have immediately revealed the mats. Now, after a $3,000 bill, I have to pay a specialized medical groomer to shave her down to her bare skin because the matting is a safety risk. This wasn't a one-off mistake; it was systemic negligence across multiple staff members over multiple days. Spoke to the manager who offered to refund the 'brush outs' and bath--a drop in the bucket compared to the cost of a specialized medical groomer shaving my dog to the skin. Completely lost all trust in their care of my pets. Beware. Save yourself and your pet the stress. Go elsewhere.

The store itself was pretty neat and clean and while they have a lot of product they try their best to merchandise it well. They don't sell their THC canned beverages in the 4 or 6 packs that they typically come in and price them per can which I'm not really a fan of since you wind up paying more than what the price of the 4 or 6 pack typically is, but this was the only "con" I had shopping here. The manager / cashier and all the employees were super friendly and helpful which I absolutely appreciated.

We arrived for the fireworks show commemorating the U.S.'s 250th year anniversary. As part of our ticket, we had full access to the gardens. The gardens were breathtaking. So many different lilies, flowers, trees... the botany was amazing. Yes, it's privately funded and managed, but nonetheless a sight to see. We got there around 2:30pm and spent about 3 hours viewing the entirety of the gardens. Didn't rush through any exhibit. Because of the combo ticket, we were able to exit to grab some dinner before returning for the fireworks. They are food options inside, but not too many. Anyhow, the fireworks show itself was quite amazing. It was based on a thematic soundtrack, so it was pretty cool to have it synchronize to some classic music. This was about 45 mins. Wonderful Labor Day weekend trip.

Last month, it was bassist Stanley Garden; this month, it's The String Queens. The gardens are well staffed with people to provide direction or answer questions.
