It's been about a year and a half since I've been to this restaurant and it used to be my favorite when I was in the area. I was very excited to be in the area and to try it again but I was pretty disappointed with the visit and with all of the changes. It was 8 pm on a friday night so the restaurant was understandably busy so I was pleasantly surprised to be seated right away unfortunately the table was not wiped down. The server did take care of it as soon as she noticed. The service was fast and friendly. The disappointing part was the food and prices. Understandable that prices has gone up just like everywhere else, but it was sad to see that they got smaller. The food still tasted great but it was hard to justify with the increased cost and smaller portions.

The sushi was okay, I would rate it about a 7 out of 10. We ordered two rolls, the shrimp tempura and the Philadelphia roll. Personally, I felt the rolls were a bit small for the price compared to other sushi spots. The waiter was very sweet, but they definitely need more staff. The place was not very packed, yet the waiter seemed overwhelmed and occasionally forgot which tables the rolls were going to. Our personal favorite was the shrimp tempura roll.

We stopped by here for a quick bite while in the neighborhood. I always have the same thing and today I decided to try something different. I got the miso ramen with pork, belly and vegetables. It was unbelievable. I couldn't imagine all those flavors coming together so perfectly. I'm so glad I took a chance on something different. The serving is so large that it's going to last another 2 days. For $21, I feel like I got such a great value. Highly recommended whether you like sushi, tempura, teriyaki, or ramen.

We had a great lunch at Joyce's and some items that we would recommend is the seaweed salad, garlic albacore roll, lion king, and garlic salmon. The service was very attentive and we would definitely come back next time we are in town!

I was expecting a bit more with the high yelp ratings. However, the food was just okay. I felt their lunch set prices were slightly high for what we received. The portion was decent and serving staff were friendly. The best dish was the tempura. It's in a strip mall about an 8 min drive from downtown Palm Springs.

Was in the area for a couple of weeks visiting & this place was so good, I came here twice! The restaurant inside is very pretty & welcoming. The staff was very friendly & constantly came to check on us. The sushi was amazing. We shared 3 different rolls & each one was perfect. The fish was so fresh. One of the best sushi rolls I've had in a long time. My favorite roll was the firecracker! A must visit if in the Palm Springs area

I feel like Yelp lied with this rating. As soon as we sat down, I felt like I had entered a Quentin Tarantino movie. At the strip mall is it open. We do get seated quickly . The vibe was off quickly . Between the huge sign that you can buy $1000 gift card and get a luxury gift bag. Our order was taken quickly. However, not lot of prices were listed. Needless to say we got two rolls didn't enjoy it and one Coke. The food was not great and the staff never came to talk to us again. It was not good. Also the religious music playing and the Jesus coloring pages in the menu didn't help.

Try the Chutoro. Buttery deelish tuna. Thank you Lia and staff. Awesome fresh Sushi. Don't sleep in the spicy tuna roll!

What's up with the super-repetitive drunken saxophone music?? We cannot unhear it - it KEEPS LOOPING! The sushi is fresh and delicious.

Sushi was fresh! Everything was good. Restaurant was nice and clean. Service was always around and fast. Would be back!

This place was decent. Stopped by here during Coachella weekend and got seated right away. The overall ambiance is cool and dim, and the robot is cute. The food was 7.5/10. I enjoyed the sushi but the chicken teriyaki was like, shredded. Never seen it in that form before. Tasted good though. I wasn't a fan of the salad dressing. Service was okay. We got checked up on a decent amount of times but it took forever for us to check out. Not sure if I'd come back here.

Everything in this restaurant looks clean, high quality, and new. From the chairs to the menu to the disposable chopsticks (they had designs on them). The food here is great. The fish is fresh and prepared well. We ordered a few rolls, the standout was the Ichiban roll. The soup for the udon was a tad sweet but otherwise good. Plenty of free parking in the plaza the restaurant is located in. Driving on the street the restaurant looks closed because they seem to have blacked out their windows. They have multiple large screen TVs inside streaming sports.

The bar was backed up so we each ordered two drinks at once to save on the wait time. The Mint cocktails all around. We started with truffle fries to share and the touch of rosemary made them extra tasty. Plus with their homemade ranch! This was too good. We ordered a couple dishes like the charred cauliflower, flatbreads, bruschetta, and short rib. The cauliflower was very flavorful especially with the pistachios. The short rib was a hefty and meaty dish, very good. The mushroom bruschetta was loaded with mushrooms and really good with the garlic chili oil. Shout out to Brooklyn! The most edible item was the date appetizer, but not worth the price for 5 little dates. We ordered a salad, the half chicken entree, a flatbread and the short rib entree. The chicken was so tough we couldn't cut into it and sent it back, despite our rude waiter trying to gaslight us into believing it should be served that way and we must just not like it. The short rib, which came with mashed potatoes and asparagus looked as if it had been sitting under a lamp for an hour. It was cold, flavorless and the potatoes could literally be picked up in one chunk. The disco sun shareable cocktail was good, but we had to send back the crushed olive martini as well. It was pink and tasted somewhere between a fireball experiment and lighter fluid. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. There should have been some kind of apology but we were met with attitude and disrespect despite a nearly $300 bill for a mostly inedible meal. The prices are INSANE for being so terrible.

The drinks were strong and well-made, and even though the place was packed, our waitress stayed attentive and checked in with us consistently. It's clear they specialize in more elaborate cocktails, so a bit of a wait is understandable. The ambiance is also a highlight--dark, intimate, and really leans into the tiki vibe. **Night two** was the complete opposite. We accidentally mixed up our reservation time, but since the place was nearly empty, we were seated right away, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, everything went downhill from there. We had a different waitress, and despite being one of only a few parties there when we arrived, we waited **45 minutes** without seeing our drinks--while other groups seated after us were already being served (and even getting second rounds). We eventually had to flag down our waitress, who had hardly checked on us at all. When we asked about the delay, she said they were "very busy,". After mentioning how long we'd been waiting, there wasn't any real apology--just visible annoyance. She told us our drinks were "up next," but after another 20 minutes passed with nothing, we decided to leave after over an hour of waiting. It was disappointing, especially after such a positive first experience. A simple apology or some communication would have gone a long way. Sadly, the inconsistency makes it hard to know which version of this place you're going to get.

It caught our attention as we had stayed in two different Kimpton Hotels in Seattle prior. We wanted to grab a drink at the Window Bar (not knowing that was its actual name, but the conversation we had with the bartender about that window shining too much light at certain parts of the morning definitely gave me a chuckle in hindsight). We happened to be a bit early since he had not been able to finish setting up shop yet. We went ahead and waited until he was ready without rushing him because we ourselves weren't in any rush at all. Surrounded by a ton of nice interesting artwork, it was a pure joy to enjoy a drink or two in this environment. The bar can be found at the corner on the other side of the hotel concierge in plain sight from such a big space for a lobby, directly left upon entrance through the front. Since it was slow in the morning, we were able to chat it up with the bartender and even explore a bit of experimentation in the form of a particular top secret cocktail that every mixologist knows. Neil was welcoming, accommodating, and personally secured a table for our party of six when we returned after 9pm. His hospitality and the venue concept itself are excellent. Unfortunately, the service we received afterward from another staff member, Billy, did not match that standard. The venue is extremely dark, so we used the small table lamp to read the menu. Billy instructed us not to use it because it "wasn't the vibe of the establishment," and told us to use our phone lights instead. The tone was abrupt and dismissive. Around 9:50pm he announced last call. When one guest ordered, his response was, "I guess if you must." Others asked for a moment to decide and were repeatedly rushed. We explained we weren't aware they closed as 10, as Neil had told us it would be open seating after 10. He replied, "Yeah, well I'm closing tonight and I'm closing at 10." When drinks were delivered, they were set down forcefully. As we were leaving, a member of our group overheard Billy speaking negatively about us to another employee, including mocking someone in our group for needing glasses to read the menu and implying she was intoxicated (she wasn't). When this was addressed directly, he did not apologize and instead insisted we had overstayed, which is inaccurate. We ordered promptly after being told last call and left after finishing our drinks. We are locals who intentionally brought out-of-town guests here because we wanted them to have a great experience. It's disappointing that one staff member's conduct overshadowed what should have been a highlight of their visit. I won't assign motives, but I will note that Billy's demeanor noticeably shifted after the final member of our group, who happens to be Black, arrived. I cannot determine why, only that the change in tone was clear. Neil has created something special here. However, a venue's reputation ultimately depends on how guests are treated when ownership is not present. Based on this visit, there is a significant gap between the hospitality the owner provides and the service delivered in his absence. I hope Neil takes a close look at what happens when he's not present, because with the right staff, this could easily be a place we'd want to return to.
