First of all...the laundry center at my complex is complete trash and I don't feel safe leaving my clothes there for a second. I discovered the place by pure luck when I was driving by the area. The place is very clean, with colored walls to give a modern look, and top of the line machines to wash and dry your clothes. Everything is coin-operated and you can buy your detergent, etc. this way too. The place is unattended but there is a number to call if you need help or the machines need repair. They actually have a lot of seating, televisions, and even old-school arcades to help you pass the time. Personally, I'll leave me clothes there, run some errands and come back. I never get the feeling like I have to consistently sit there and watch my items. If you live anywhere in the vicinity, I HIGHLY recommend this place. I plan on going here regularly for the entire next year that I live at the apartments I am at now. read more

The advertised hours are incorrect. The business hours are seven days a week 5 am - 9pm. English speaking business owners. The layout is very organized and the machines are labeled per the size load (refer to pictures). All washing machines are front loading machines. Sizes vary from what they call double load, maxi load (quad load), triple load, and mega load. Prices range from $1.25-$4.00 I personally used the mega load to wash three king sized quilts. $4 for 20 minutes. Dryers are .25¢/8 minutes with drying temperature options being high/regular, medium/perm press, or low/delicate options. One thing that I noticed is that my quilts got tangled during the drying process which caused the door to the dryer to open. So it appears that the magnet on the door isn't that stable. Which caused me to loose some drying time. First world problem: Only downfall was outlets didn't work to charge my phone :/ read more

This washateria is really colorful, spacious, and clean. The machines here accept quarters only. There is a line of seats against the windows in the front to sit and wait for your clothes and a few seats in the back. There's a lady in an enclosed room that sells detergent, dryer sheets, and fabric softener if you need. She also monitors the cameras that are all over the washateria. For your convenience Joy Washateria also had a coin machine if you don't have any. A men & women's restroom in the back right of the washateria. However, in the women's restroom there wasn't any toilet paper or paper towels. Not even a toilet paper dispenser. Another good thing to note: There's only about 8 of those rolling carts if you need to put your laundry in it; from what I counted. For washer machines there are small, medium, and large sizes available. Prices for them are 2.00, 3.25, and 4.00, respectively. The dryers are all one size, but are huge and will fit your load of laundry. 0.25 for every eight minutes to dry your clothes. How to increase the time when you're drying laundry: 1. Put a quarter in & push start (8 Minutes) 2. Insert another quarter & push start (16 minutes) 3. Repeat until you have your desired amount of time you think it will take to dry your laundry. Our 2 medium size loads (in one dryer) took 40 minutes. If you're bored, there's also some arcade games to play! Area 51, Street Fighter II, a "48 Classic Games," and a driving game "Cruisin USA." So my pipes burst and I'm having flashbacks of college days because I've got to go to the laundromat again. Joy Washateria is about as good as I've been to--all the machines worked and there are different capacities for your various loads. As an aside, their "triple load" machine is my home washing machine's normal capacity--I don't know how helpful that is to anyone, but I thought I'd mention it. That machine is two bucks a load and the "double load" is a buck twenty-five. All in all, I'd go back the next time my pipes go out (oh, please let that be many many years from now). read more

When I have to use a laundromat, this is my go to place. It's super clean. I never have to wait for machines. I can be in and out in less than an hour. A medium size load will cost you two bucks to wash and dry. read more

I have been coming here since 2014 when we originally first moved to Houston. I had a brief time where I didn't come, but that was because we moved far away from here. Nothing compared to the cleanliness and the how safe I feel when I'm here! There was an older lady who used to manage the place and she would scare away the sketchy people. Lol. This place is now under new management, and they added wifi for their customers! Which is great in my book because of all the data I burned while waiting for my laundry in the past! However, it's beginning to get pretty packed now. The machines are well maintained, the place is Super clean!!! The machines never had that funky smell that some older laundromats do, but I think it's because they really take care of them!! And the prices in my opinion are the best in the area. The dryers actually work! I'll drive down the road to come here, washers and dryers are in good condition!

I highly recommend this washateria because it clean the inside of the dryer and wash was clean quite and they have free wifi.

Never thought I'd need a washateria but when our dryer stopped working we went here and were pleasantly surprised! Clean place with lots of washers/dryers. They have a change machine, as you'll need coins, and if you don't have any detergent, etc. they have that for purchase. I was worried about my safety before going but felt comfortable and wouldn't be worried about going again, even if alone. read more

Very nice clean as expected from the past reviews. Came in got two double load machines one of the machines took me for a dollar but o well. Very colorful walls restroom kind of dirty but what do you expect from a restroom. 1.25 per double load and 2.00 for the triple load. Dryer is 25 cents for 8 minutes. read more

I actually found this place on Yelp via a Google search. Our Dryer broke over the weekend and so I decide to take some clothes and give the place a try. It's been years since I have been in one of these places and have to say that I was rather impressed with the cleanliness of the Washateria. Lots of colors, spacious, plenty of seats and even a gaming area to pass the time. Also noticed plenty of working dryers and washing machines. I was impressed that everything appeared to be in good working order and maintained well. Be prepared to use quarters only and there is a dollar bill change machine. (it appeared to accept 1 and 5 dollar bills) I felt pretty safe there. Most of the customers spoke a mixture of English and Spanish. I will visit again if the need arises. read more

Not nearly as clean as other reviewers said. Machines were good, but floor needs to be swept, and chairs are all falling apart.

I am literally sitting outside of this place in complete disbelief at the absolute disrespect the owner of the business just gave me. The machines are constantly malfunctioning and on this evening one of the machines malfunctioned. With the dryers, normally you put in 5 or 6coins press the start button and it goes ahead and puts 40 - 48 minutes on your dryer. I put in my 6 coins and only showed that it applied 2 coins to the machine, giving me only 16 minutes. I tried to more coins just for good measure to double check and make sure that it wasn't just me that the machine was actually malfunctioning. I found the owner who is an older Asian woman, and ask for assistance since the machine wasn't working for me. I walked her over to the machine and put in another one of my quarters to show her that it wasn't working. She tries to press the button a couple of times and says finally yes it is not working in very broken English. I let her know that I at this point had put 7 coins into the machine and I would need my money back so that I can go ahead and move my clothes to another machine and get them to dry. She then hands me two quarters and walks away, as I'm in mid-sentence to telling her no I put in 7 quarters not 2. She turns around and proceeds to tell me that everybody comes in and tells her that that everybody here lies and that 99% of what everybody here tells her is nothing but lies and she can't believe what I'm telling her. She says that she'll have to check the security cameras. I told her to go ahead and do it as soon as possible so that way I may receive my money back. At this point it wasn't even about the 5 quarter difference, it was about the disrespect in the fact that I am a customer of yours and what the hell is 5 quarters to you when I have just put in almost 40 quarters into your machines at this point. When I told her that I needed her to go ahead and look at the cameras she then puts two more quarters into my hands and starts to run away as fast as you possibly can. At this point I continue to pursue her and tell her no I told you 7 quarters. Not 2, not 4, 7. She comes back and continues to tell me that I'm lying just as everyone else here lies and everyone else continues to lie and she can never believe what anybody says. I then asked her are you actually accusing me of lying over five quarters? She says no but everybody lies everybody lies to me. She then gave me two more quarters and pretty much ran out of sight. This is the most disrespectful display of relation between customer and business. I've worked in customer service for over ten years and completely baffled that someone would choose to outright call a customer a liar and lose their weekly business over 5 quarters. There are plenty of places to wash your clothes, don't bother the hassle with this one. read more

This is the worst place to go to wash your clothes.first of all the dispenser didn't give me all my coins. I started to look for a phone number to call, their were none. I circled the whole place three time and not a single phone number for if you have a problem. I started seeing a lot of paper taped to few machine saying ( do not use this machine, lt took all my money and didn't work). finally after one hour I saw a sort of guy that arrived to the premise. I started telling him about my experience about the coin machine, he basically told me to get lost and that I was lying. Clean place with air conditioning to keep the interior comfortable. All wash machines are in working order. The owner works very hard to keep this laundry shop a joy to use. Be careful with the dryers as they may take longer than expected to fully dry your cloth. read more
