We loved finding this restaurant when we first moved to Highlands Ranch 2 years ago, but the other day we went in and ordered our sushi and a waiter with his hair in a bun told us that we couldn't eat all you can eat if we didn't order it. We've eaten sushi 100's of times and we were dressed nicely and in our 50's, we know the rules! Then he told us at only our second round if we don't finish all of our sushi we'd have to pay for it. He hurried our eating along at the end and we left. It was so rude and gave us and very uncomfortable impression compared to our previous visits. I've been going to this place for years for all-you-can-eat sushi. They offer it for lunch and dinner. The last six years I've frequented their place. I love the quality and taste of everything they make. The service is excellent, always above and beyond. The staff is always smiling, even with masks on. I try a new roll or pick a specialty roll each time I visit. The price for the all-you-can-eat is reasonable and worth every penny. Lots of options for lunch, even more for dinner. They even make hand rolls and udon. The drink options are also extensive. I drink hot green tea, but they offer multiple types of sakes. Full bar available as well. I recommend trying the gyoza and dumplings. This is a great place for groups or families. Nice atmosphere and ambience. They really do a great job making your experience great. Repeat customer I am. We came here for the first time on a Saturday night. We had a party of three and each got all you can eat, $30 each. Let's start with the positives. For the price, the sushi was really good! Very fresh and their rolls are were great. Services was also fantastic. Drinks were always full and food came out timely. You could also get ramen as part of it, however I like my money going to sushi, sashimi, and nigiri so I can't comment on how that was. Overall we loved this place and will be back for some good sushi. Minus one star as the all you can eat is pretty limited. A lot of their specialty rolls you can't get and only includes some appetizers and no desert. That was a little disappointing as most all you can eat places give you access to almost the entire sushi menu, maybe a few of the rolls are upcharges, but most are included and definitely at least Mochi ice cream. If looking to eat just a few sushi, go somewhere else as the individual sushi cost was higher than most places. The A.Y.C.E. sushi was $30 per person. It was delivered fast and was very good. Firm, fresh ingredients. Keep in mind I am a vegan so no critters in my sushi. Spouse enjoyed her sushi and said the critter-sushi was also fresh and savory. Will definitely return here. I also love the Sushi Girl roll and always get hot tea with dinner. The environment could be cooler overall. It's very simple with some basic tables and chairs. Arrived 2 hours before closing. Our waiter took our order for "all you can eat". We arrived with another couple with kids. We had to place our order on 1 ticket. Our guests got their food. But my wife and I kept missing items from our order. We consistently bugged our waiter for our missing items. Never got them. Our waiter eventually ghosted us. So i took it upon myself, walked over and grabbed our waiter to place a second round of food for "all you can eat" 30min before closing. In reality we re-placed our order for our missing items. Got 1 more roll but still missing the other 4 rolls. Waiter told us that they "ran out of rice". How can a sushi restaurant run out of their main item. My wife and I spent $280 for our table for "all you can eat" and we still left hungry!!! Although our guests got their food, we did not. How can they say "all you can eat" when they cant even fulfill an order the first time. Then go back and refuse to fix the order when I have to take it upon myself to place it a second time. I tried Joy sushi for the first time the other night. We walked in kind of late (8:30pm) but luckily the lobby was empty and our sushi cane fast. We did the AYCE. The portions of fish were small but they were very neatly arrayed and, as I said, lightning fast since there was only one other table besides us. The sushi rolls were delicious although my favorite was the spicy salmon roll. The shrimp tempura roll was a little flavorless, despite its colorful sauces. The wasabi was also not very hot, so that was disappointing. They were skimpy on the wasabi and the ginger, even after I asked for more. The lobby was very clean and I liked the decor. Very plain and open with a few colorful pieces here and there. Their menus are on each table with the "rules" for AYCE on a laminated spread for those who don't know how it works. They will also write up their "specials" on a white board above the sushi prep station where they'll have good deals on sushi. It's just unfortunate you're only allowed to order one of each per table per visit. They're pretty strict on their AYCE sushi rules... the server specifically mentioned being charged extra per piece if we didn't finish everything... so that was a bit of a turn off as the laminated rule sheet right under our noses would have sufficed.
