I highly recommend Soothing Oasis Massage for a high-quality massage experience that will leave you feeling relaxed and refreshed.

Rough, heavy "Swedish massage" resulting in broken capillaries and inflammed, sore skin. Sketchy…read moretipping and payment, with extra fees for using a credit card. Hopefully our experience gives others an idea of what to expect. I wish I had read the other Yelp Reviews before we went to Zen Spa. Other people have experienced the same roughness in their massages, and the same coerciveness with tipping and payment. Swedish Massage I booked a massage for my 20+ old son. He is an athlete and has had many massages at other spas, including deep issue/sports massage. When we arrived, the "therapist" suggested a 90-minute session for $110. For today, my son did not want a deep tissue massage so I asked her to confirm that this session would be Swedish and he could tell her to make the pressure as light as he wanted. She confirmed yes. Payment and 30% (or higher) "Suggested Tipping" When it was time to pay, she asked me to hand her my credit card, and then as she initiated the payment, she asked how much I wanted to tip. Since it was a $110 session and I customarily tip 20%, I said "$22". However, she did not just add $22. She pointed to a printed sign that listed "Suggested Tips for a $110 session" and the smallest suggested tip was $30. This is a 27% tip, far above customary. In all other businesses I've dealt with, I am the one to tap my credit card, and I can privately enter whatever amount of tip that I choose. But at Zen Spa, the therapist held my credit card hostage while asking me to tell her how much I wanted to tip, as if it was a set amount obligation and not the client's choice to show appreciation for good service. I was taken aback by how presumptuous she was, but decided that I would just tip the 27% and be done with it. The payment should have been $110 for the service plus $30 for the tip, for a total of $140. However, the receipt total said $142. I pointed to the sign that said the 90-minute Swedish massage was $110, so the total should have been $140. She kept insisting that her total was correct, and only after I kept asking did she point to a different sign that said that there was a $2.00 fee for using a credit card. My guess is that they were passing on the credit card companies' fees to the client, but they didn't want to change the published price list, so they created a smaller sign that said that there would be a $2.00 extra fee. Really deceptive. Rough Massage and Broken Capillaries After we left, I asked my son how it went. He said it was a terrible experience. We understand that there may be bruising or redness, but he has never had that with deep tissue massages at other places. But at Zen Spa, with a supposedly "Swedish massage," the woman was so rough with her hands and a tool -- perhaps a massage roller -- that he had to tell her to lighten up. The result of all the roughness is a back full of broken capillaries and inflamed skin (see photos attached). This is not normal. Less important, and rather funny, was that the spa room smelled like garlic. This place was definitely not peaceful and zen. One positive thing I can say about the spa is that they take precautionary safety measures because of the neighborhood. Another therapist/owner said that they lock the doors to the building when they are in sessions because "there are lot of bad boys" in the area.

Usually after I identify myself as a therapist, people don't treat me as well. However, this was the complete opposite. I settled in to get a foot massage as well. My only gripe is that for my personal taste, they used too much cream/lotion, but I understand this to be personal preference. I had about 10 minutes per foot and I felt like I was walking on a cloud after. Make a stop. It's worth it. Your body will thank you.

My mediocre review will likely create a lot of business here…read more I received a very good massage. Here's what I didn't like and the word that came to mind last month when I went there is BRAZEN. She left the room 3 times briefly to answer the phone. When this occurred I was naked, face down with a bev nap over my asshole she left the door wide open and made chit chat with another employee. Ok. Not great but I really needed a massage. Annoyed. Then it's time for me to flip over. She graced my penis once and made a comment. Awkward. Shortly thereafter she grabbed the head briefly and asked me if I wanted happy ending. I did not. Many would. So the prices are good. I'm sure super special tipping is accepted for special service. I'm pissed off because the massage was great and the price was fair. I was more annoyed when she left me alone in the room, ass up, door open and thought that was okay. What is wrong with these people? Were they raised in a barn? This is Harbor Beach. If you want a happy ending you act appropriately. You wait until you get on your yacht and you call your coke dealer. The lack of decorum these days is disgraceful.

My partner and I had an infuriating negative - extremely expensive - experience with King David's…read moreMassage. Beware of this "business"! I booked a 90 minute couple's massage for me and my partner for Valentine's Day. My partner and I had gone back and forth on ordering it because it was so expensive (and we're used to New York prices), but we decided to splurge because of the holiday. Worst decision. Read on: We're in our hotel room waiting for our masseuses to arrive. We hear a knock on the door, open it expecting to see two massage therapists, but there's only one. His name is Enrique and he has frenetic energy, seems in a big hurry, and tells us that he only has one hour (even though we had ordered 90 minute massages.) Enrique starts a timer on his phone before he even begins setting up the massage table, I'm not making this up. We decide I'll get a massage with Enrique so my partner can at least get the 90 minute massage, since it's her present after all. So I get started on my 60 minute session while my partner waits around for the second masseuse to show up. What transpires is the worst and strangest massage I've ever had. Enrique puts on pulsing club music and pokes and prods at my body - mostly my calves - for the duration of what turns out to be a 42 minute massage. Before rushing out the door, Enrique tells me to pay him via venmo, which surprises me because the person I booked with said I would be paying via credit card. He says it's $190 and he switches his venmo from business to personal when I pay. I add a tip despite my bad experience, ultimately paying $220 for this terrible massage. All of this is happening in a flurry since Enrique is in such a rush. As soon as he leaves, I go to the King David Massage website to double check the price for a 60 minute massage (since I'd only been quoted a 90 minute massage, since that's what I ordered.) On their website it says the massage is $155! I'm furious. Meanwhile, my partner is getting massaged by her therapist, who had arrived about 30 minutes into my 42 minute massage (some couple massage...). The only good thing I can say about this whole experience is her massage therapist, Michael, was very attentive, talented, understanding and also flabbergasted by Enrique. In fact, Michael stayed extra long because at one point he had to run down to his car to get his lotion (which he had forgotten.) Michael was transparent about pricing and gracious about the 20+% tip we gave him. The next day, I get in touch with King David Massage to complain about my experiences and request a refund for my massage with Enrique. After going back and forth with the massage dispatcher, I finally get connected to the owner. After I threatened to go to the Better Business Bureau, I receive a partial refund ($96, for the tip and the 15 minutes off massage that I paid for and didn't receive.) TLDR: you might consider taking your business elsewhere.
