She had multiple teachers, her first one for just the Make-up was awesome however moving past that was a nightmare. The new owner will promise this and that, it's the same, zero communication. I would highly recommend not registering as it is a waiste of Money!! They promise everything and do not deliver. She has done it all on her own and is doing well however this school should not be considered a Professional Establishment. Shame on them

On numerous occasions, we were told one thing, taught another, told things would be taught in the class and weren't. Recently, I had found out the program during different times of the day got way more opportunities than other classes (e.g. photo shoots with good photographers, more hands on learning etc.) Due to different teachers, and lack of consistency, many of the students agreed we did not feel we were getting a proper course teaching, and for the money, it should have been top notch. Many items like discount cards, certificates, volunteering for shoots etc., were never followed through on by the school, and students were constantly having to remind teachers to get them the information, photos etc. they deserved. On one occasion a few of us volunteered for a test shoot at the agency. A month went by without a word of the photos for our portfolio, and reminder upon reminder was put upon the school to get us our photos. Finally after being fed up on waiting, I contacted the main director, and got nothing but attitude from her about wanting the photos, I was shocked at her rudeness to me when I was overly nice. When you volunteer for a 8+ hour day, and are promised photos in return, it's not that hard to get them to the student!! Many shoots we volunteered on and were promised photos as the perk were never given to us---yes experience was gained, but the time, money and product spent to do the shoots was a waste as a makeup artist if we can't get a photo for our portfolio in return. Either way, apart from a few nice teachers, I would NOT recommend this school for makeup artistry. They clearly do not have the organization skills down, too much attitude towards their students and seems like more concerned about booking more courses and more money, and lack of consistency for sure. If I want to further my career and take more courses I will for sure be looking elsewhere.

My Google Review: I…read morerecently took the hydrofacial and cryolipolysis courses here, and I want to leave some honest feedback about my experience, both for others considering the school, and for the school itself. Positives: The school is beautifully decorated. Very fancy/chic looking, and all the rooms and bathrooms were very clean. The instructors were all lovely, especially Mackenzie! She's so cute and very knowledgeable about A LOT of services! She also offered organized notes for us to copy down and explained everything very thoroughly. 10/10 for her. Negatives: The weekend receptionist is SO RUDE. I never got the emails with the class schedules/requirements/student portals for the theory learning. (Apparently the regular receptionist was away and I got missed, and it sounds like it happens frequently.) When I showed up for my hydrofacials class on Sunday, the receptionist asked if I had models. I explained I didn't know I needed them because I never got any info about the class. She told me she had two ladies in the building who could do it, but to tell Jessica (the instructor) as soon as I got to class, which I did. Then, when it came time for models, Jessica told me to ask the receptionist. When I did, she told me in a very snooty tone "Well, I didn't call anybody because you were supposed to come back down and talk to me after you talked to Jessica." Uh...okay? Except she never said that. She made it seem like it was MY FAULT when I'd not been informed of anything. Seriously, she should be fired. She has zero customer service presence. The hydrofacials class felt really disorganized. Jessica, although very sweet (and apologetic about my situation), was writing notes, jumping from one topic to the next. The "quiz" at the end is open book, but we still had to ask her for answers to a bunch of questions that she hadn't explained. She didn't show us how to set up or tear down/clean the machine, and kept coming over and pressing the buttons/settings for us and being like "Okay, do the thing." What thing? How? The other girl in class and myself both left feeling utterly confused and unprepared. I will likely ask EB to take this class again (you can redo them for free) and ask for a different instructor. In the hydrofacials class, there was a hodge-podge of drugstore products to use, and the other student didn't even have the same ones. We both had baskets of totally random stuff. (I had Garnier sunscreen, for instance.) I'm sorry, but for a $1400 class, you'd think they'd use professional products. The school is too cheap to give you proper booklets (or just printed and stapled sheets) with any information. Maybe this is in the portal (I haven't seen it yet), but for the price, you'd think a hard copy would be included. My fellow student gave me paper out of her notebook to take notes on (again, I didn't get the email saying to bring paper/models/etc, so I had literally no idea what to expect.) There was no hand sanitizer provided in any of the classrooms, not for theory or for the hands-on training. Especially during a pandemic, I find this really unsettling. Not all of the students were diligent about washing their hands either, and it wasn't enforced. The hydrofacials course says its 32hrs online, but we had one 5.5hr day in class, and my classmate said that the theory in the student portal was just a bunch of videos to watch, which she did in 2hrs. Where's the other 24.5hrs of the course then? One lady who modeled for me was a fellow student who'd taken the full Laser Technician course. You would think this would be an intensive course, since you're going to claim students are CERTIFIED LASER TECHS after, but she informed me it was a mere 5 days of hands on. You teach people 7 services in 5 days, and then let them GO LASER PEOPLE??!! I'm sorry, I think that's nuts. I wouldn't want to be lasered by someone with so little training. I'm also a student at The Esthetic Institute, but wanted to take these two courses at EB to supplement my learning. TEI is way better. Much more organized, no rude staff, and way more training. IMO. ALSO: Crazy how they have 4.5 on Google, but 2 stars on Yelp. Wish I would have checked here first. :/

10/10 would NOT recommend! they offer free services to help out their students, which I am all for!…read moreI like free and if it helps someone with their journey, sign me up! the downside, because it is a free service they don't care if they are wasting your time! two times I was booked to come in for lashes, the first time the appointment was at 1:30 pm. when I showed up, they apologized and said that the person who was to be doing my lashes called in sick and they must not have called me to cancel. Alls well, it happens! I left, albeit a little disappointed, but my life was not over. i saw another ad for lashes l, so I jumped on it - again free. I was booked for 9:30 this morning. I booked a half day off work, I got up, drove the 23 minutes to the place, went inside and the girl at the front desk tells me that there must have been some confusion and that the student booked someone else. I was mad at this point. so she offered me a $5 starbucks gift card. I was not belligerent at all with her. I was frustrated again that I took another half day off work, drove the 23 minutes to this appointment to be turned away AGAIN! I get this is a free service that is being offered, I fully understand this, but also, these services are offered to the public because the student is in need of a model, and being that I like free services (and who doesn't in this economy) I jumped on it! the only thing I ask is a little consideration for my time as well. two Hal days were booked off from work, gas was used to get to these appointments 23 minutes one way x 4 equals 112 minutes of driving time and you offer me a $5 Starbucks card (that I did not accept) and a "sorry" thanks but no thanks I wish you better in the future and that your booking system gets figured out so other people don't have to experience these inconveniences as well. just because these are free services does not mean my time is invaluable! nor should it be assumed that it is!

There's also ZERO job security, and you can get terminated anytime for no reason! I constantly felt uncertain about my position, which created a lot of stress for me (it seemed that this was a common feeling among many others as well). From an academic perspective, I was very concerned about how heavily AI tools seemed to be relied on in creating curriculum. Technology can support education, but programs that require significant tuition should be built through thoughtful academic design and strong educational oversight. Based on my experience, I would recommend researching carefully before accepting a role or enrolling in a program at NIWE.

regret enrolling in NiWE Academy. The program is extremely expensive for what you actually receive,…read moreand my experience there was incredibly disappointing. The tools provided were very low quality. Several students had scissors fall apart during the program, and no replacements were offered. Considering the cost of the program, it's unacceptable that the tools students are required to buy are such poor quality. The training itself was minimal. We were loosely shown how to perform about four haircuts, and even those demonstrations were rushed and poorly explained. There was almost no instruction on fundamentals like how to properly hold scissors, sanitation procedures, or consistent cutting techniques. Now that I'm working in a barbershop, I honestly feel like I'm starting from zero. During orientation, the dean spent a long time talking about her credentials and how strict the academy is about professionalism--no being late, black clothing only, no ripped clothes, and professional conduct. In reality, none of those rules were enforced. One student showed up almost three hours late during orientation and was allowed to stay. The classroom environment was chaotic. Students were yelling, running around, and behaving unprofessionally. At one point someone punched a mannequin so hard it flew across the room and hit me. I filed a safety complaint, but nothing meaningful changed. The final exam process was also concerning. Cheating was widespread, with one student sharing answers with others while the instructor repeatedly left the room. When I reported it, I was told, "Who cares, we just want everyone to pass at this point." Everyone received extremely inflated grades and overly positive feedback regardless of performance. Most students scored close to 100% even when the haircuts were clearly poor. We also never practiced on real models, which left many of us unprepared for real barbershop work. To make things worse, the academy is now withholding my diploma until I pay for the same low-quality tools that many students already had issues with. Overall, the program felt disorganized and unprofessional. I left with debt, poor tools, and very little practical training. I would strongly recommend researching other barber programs before considering NiWE Academy.
