Monika, who has been my instructor for at least the past 3 levels, is great. She's practical, provides good feedback and is an intriguing person, which makes me appreciate her as a teacher. I attended the 4th Annual International Pole Camp this year, which is hosted by Pole Junkies. I'm not sure that I would spend the money on it again unless some improvements are made, but there's no doubt that I acquired some good info, met some cool and extremely talented women who traveled long distances and am really happy to have a manual that includes helpful information and reminders addressing safety and injury management. Those who know me are well aware that I've had to deal with injuries numerous times already. Based on what I've heard from students about their experiences with other schools, Pole Junkies stands out from the competitor in terms of progression of skills and ensuring proper body alignment with all techniques. If I manage to continue pole fitness without completely breaking myself (you learn a lot about what your body can handle and where you have issues), I hope to demonstrate as an advanced student by mid next year and wouldn't go anywhere else for my training. 25/30 for Yelp's 30 Day Challenge

I have taken salsa classes in the past, and the footing was slightly different. Alex and Dave took the time to explain how the count was different for this style of salsa. Alex really breaks down the steps for you, so even if you're a COMPLETE salsa newbie, as in, never have danced in your life, you will still be okay if you follow her steps and instructions. The size of the class is good, it allows for personal attention/help whenever you need it. Salsa is a stunning dance (if done right), and Alex and Dave are both VERY good-looking individuals, so when they do a dance demonstration, its quite the show. They are the most dedicated, caring, supportive, understanding and encouraging teachers in my history of training. They have expected the highest of standard from me and upheld me to this level on a daily basis. The teachers have individualistic expectations for each student, varying on the personal level, needs and growth of the student. The staff has high expectations for us as a class and will accept nothing else but the absolute best from each individual. Not only has the staff pushed me on an artistic level but as well as on a personal level. The teachers are always there to assist me with any personal issues I may be having, even if it unrelated to the ballet studio. I see them not only as my teacher but also as my mentors, guiding me through my journey. These teaches have been my biggest assets for the past two years and have had such an incredible influence on me. They have taught me about work ethic, self motivation, expectations and self-improvement. They have never put any limits on any student and see the potential in each and every individual. I recently attended this studio and loved the classes. I got a hard workout and the instructors…read morewere fun and sweet. However, I had a problem with payment. I purchased a two week unlimited pass for $40 which I paid upfront on my VISA. To my knowledge, I did not authorize any further charges. I attended two classes immediately following the unlimited period (my mistake - I did not recall what day I completed my first class which started the 14 day countdown). I was then contacted by the studio advising me of an outstanding account. I responded within a few days asking for confirmation of the start/end day of the 14 day trial and the dates I attended classes (you can access this information on your account online but my log-in did not work). They responded nicely with the information and asked what I would "like to do" and stated that if I purchased one of their passes that I could apply the two classes I already completed to it (a fair deal and one that I intended to take). But, I had not got around to responding to that email when (7 days later) I received an email informing me that they had decided to just charge my VISA for the amount owing. This really ticked me off. In fairness to them, I was already tired and stressed after the work week. I responded (in haste) that I had not given them permission to charge my VISA and to refund it. They responded (5 days later) that if I wanted a refund, then I would have to come into the studio first and pay for the classes in cash. I do not dispute that they were owed the money they charged me and that I would need to pay it. I just don't condone service providers that take free rein in charging your credit card whenever they decide to for whatever amount they deem owing because they have your credit card number and think they can (insert their response where they tell you that there is some small print in some document that every client signs, that no client really knows is there and which permits them to do all of the above and more at their sole discretion, haha). Also, I took these classes in February. It is February 17th. This was not a situation involving some long overdue invoice that demanded immediate recourse.

I felt embarrassed at first but Annecy, our instructor, made us feel comfortable throughout and gave us an enjoyable experience. She showed the moves multiple times and then went around to help us individually. At the end, she gave about 10 minutes to take many pictures to commemorate this day for our bride-to-be. People in the classes are very nice and you feel like you are part of a dance family. Marcos, the teacher, is really good and his fun energy is very contagious, even when you are tired or feeling stressed, you feel the good energy and enjoy the class. We took 4 classes but it felt a bit rushed, there was a lot of technique to learn and I felt that after the first lesson we were playing catch up. The price for the lessons was fairly inexpensive so I would go back for another class. One thing to note is that you constantly switch partners. If you go without one it's great because you don't get stuck with anyone but when you go as a couple, it's a bit irritating when you don't get to dance together as much.

My daughter always talks about Miss Jessica when we aren't at dance. She has really created a great relationship with the little ones.
