Her instructors are Ian and Alana and she loves them both. Ian and his wife Trista are the owners and they have a great group of caring, talented teachers. Even the people who come here on a regular basis are nice and friendly. We have seen many couples coming for private wedding lessons too. We just watched a couple perform their dance for us and it was so beautiful. Soon after we bought the voucher I became paralysed from the waist down for nearly 6months, soon after starting recovery. Once I was fully recovered and able to begin moving freely again we decided to use the voucher only to see that it was expiring in a few weeks. We called the studio to see if they would extend it and get into some classes, briefly told them of the circumstances and they very rudely shut us down and basically told us "Tough Luck" in more words than not. Tough luck ... well its very cold, rude and heartless. We had so much to deal with in that time and dancing would have lifted our spirits so much but unfortunately they were too close minded and heartless to help us out. Its a shame too, my husband and I would have loved to have something like this to do on a regular basis and would have been loyal customers...

I have taken salsa classes in the past, and the footing was slightly different. Alex and Dave took the time to explain how the count was different for this style of salsa. Alex really breaks down the steps for you, so even if you're a COMPLETE salsa newbie, as in, never have danced in your life, you will still be okay if you follow her steps and instructions. The size of the class is good, it allows for personal attention/help whenever you need it. Salsa is a stunning dance (if done right), and Alex and Dave are both VERY good-looking individuals, so when they do a dance demonstration, its quite the show. I signed up for an introduction to Bollywood class in the spring on a whim, and found myself looking forward to each session as the highlight of my week. I enjoyed it so much that this term I signed up for more classes and am dancing there four days a week. I feel terrific and energized, and I am having SO MUCH FUN. The teachers that I've had have been great- patient, good at explaning things, enthusiastic, and great dancers and choreographers. The classes I've taken have been low pressure and unintimidating, geared towards adult hobby dancers, rather than professionals. And even so, I've been learning a ton and the teachers are really experts. The school offers lots of different classes with an emphasis on jazz and jazz-inspired classes, including funk, hip hop, breaking, and house. But they also offer other classes like ballet, tap, and capoeira. The intro classes are truly intro classes for people with no experience in that style of dance, or with no dance experience at all. And the non-intro classes come in a range of skill levels for people who already know what they're doing. I find the classes to be very reasonably priced, the studios are large and in good condition, and all of the staff is great. I'll take off .00001 of a star because I think "Decidedly Jazz" has got to be one of the worst names for a dance school I've ever heard :) But it still rounds up to five stars because this place is tops!

The fiance and I have been Ceroc dancing now for a while and we're quite enjoying it…read more The difference between this and other dance classes is it's fairly casual. For the most part feet don't matter which takes out half the complexity of dancing. Guys are told not to even learn any moves until the 3rd class and then work on getting just one down. You can use this dancing at any wedding or social dancing place and fit in with the current music. There is a focus on how to lead and how to follow (missing from a lot of dance studios) and this is enforced by the constant moving of partners around the room. My guy has some issues being taught to dance (just loves it) and in this class he's found a style that seems to work for him. Short of having private lessons, this is the best he's gotten in a class by far and he's liking it more than the more formalized dance classes we've tested out. Prices aren't bad - $10 a week and that includes one or both of their lessons that week. As a female, I find this place fun but I would highly recommend this to guys looking to learn some basic dance moves because I really think this class is being sold to men who want to enjoy dancing without getting too technical.
