I really enjoy this store. I stop by and buy at least one item every time I am in Nye Beach. The store has so many unique items, you have to look closely and take several passes to see everything. She does such a nice job of finding such special items. I could spend hours looking through this store. I always find a nice gift or home decoration. I recently did not replace my over-the- stove built-in in microwave when it died, and needed to figure out what to do with the now empty wall space. Then I went into Jovi, which had been recommended by someone at another store. Man, am I glad I did! Veronica spent a lot of time with me, and found many different possible solutions. I stopped in for a look after visiting the Panini Bakery/Cafe next door. I have to admit -- there are some really beautiful things in here. I could easily spend more money than I aught and not even fill a single shopping bag -- beautiful scarves, throws, little rugs -- accent pillows. Shelves full of candles and soaps -- just exactly the kind of things I don't really need, but love to smell and admire and wander through.... Wow. Really. A magical, ethereal store. It's a store that could be anywhere in the world and be truly special. I found the most unusual and special gifts for friends, and of course myself. Bought a beautiful marble with ammonite light-switch cover, two fabulous "cat" decorative throw pillows, and a great fossil ammonite. there was soooo much more I wanted! I actually didn't buy anything the first day, and wasn't going to go back, but as we were leaving town, my Husband asked if i wanted to go back. I declined, and so we left. 3 minutes later we were parked in front of Jovi. He said, " get your things, because I can't hear you lamenting the whole ride home. He's so smart! I have been visiting Jovi's for many years since 1995 I believe. The sweetest shop filled with imports from around the world. Huge range of international music, clothing, soap, skin creams, home decor items, tryly works of art. I've been collecting their colors of the ocean votive's with mercury glass on the interiors. A nice store, but my experience was not worthy of my returning with the idea of buying again. After a rude refusal to allow my 69-year-old woman friend to use the restroom for an emergency which displayed a complete lack of common sense by the clerk. (It was early and we were the only people in the store.) I reluctantly returned and made purchases only then to be showered with smiles and "Help." I later called to make an additional purchase over the phone to be mailed. That purchase was then soured by the arrival of the said mailed package with one of 2 matching cups involved broken because it was so unprofessionally protected while wrapped. (The cups were left to be jostled about without adequate packing support during shipment.) The second cup promptly broke after one use, leading me to suspect that it was weakened during delivery. My friend then "retired" the tokuri (pitcher) for fear that it is too fragile to be used as was intended. The store is a nice to walk around while avoiding the beach, but I have no interest in making purchases there again. read more
