They always had a good selection of ladies clothing and accessories. I also enjoyed shopping in their cosmetics and fragrances department for skincare and cosmetic items. The clerks at the counters were helpful with beauty tips and were very knowledgeable about the products they were selling. If I worked in a relatively small store in which ventilation turnover is minimal, I would wear a mask. I would not, however repeatedly inform customers that I felt at risk because it is a small store and you really don't know about the vaccination rate of customers. Every store I entered today faced the exact customer service health related quandary. In no other store did an employee tell me the ages and number of people at risk of COVID with whom they came into direct contact with on a regular basis. While I was in the dressing room trying on clothes, I was talking softly to my baby to comfort her. The employee stood right outside the dressing room and was giggling at what I was saying, which made it very clear she was listening and hovering nearby. Instead of feeling like a customer, I felt like I was being monitored, as if there was concern I might steal something. And then as I came out of the fitting room and let her know I didn't find anything and thanked her, she went straight into the room, I have no doubt to make sure I didn't steal anything. As a mom just trying to shop with her baby, this felt really discouraging and unwelcoming. I left feeling uncomfortable and out of place. I hope the boutique can work on creating a more inclusive and respectful environment for all customers.
