JourneyLite has given me a new lease on life! I met with the team in June of 2020. Prior to that I had tried to loose weight with diet, exercise, HCG drops, gimmick diets, etc. Each attempt would yield weight loss temporarily, but once I went back to a normal lifestyle all the weight and more would pile right back on, making my situation worse than before. I researched surgical options 11 years ago, but none were covered by insurance. After reaching a weight of 387lbs ( and being an insulin dependent type 2 diabetic for 20 years) I checked the insurance coverage and was ecstatic to find the gastric sleeve surgery was covered. Not only have I experienced weight loss as never before, I have cut my insulin use by more than 90%!!!! I fully expect to be forever off of insulin by the time my weight loss is complete! Absolutely nothing but positive experiences with Dr.Curry, and JourneyLite of Cincinnati and the team. Everyone was always quick, helpful, and kind. I had my gastric sleeve done 4/22/24. So I'm 18 months out now which is wild! The surgery was not only a success but total life changer. I was at a BMI of 44 at only 5'1 and mis-er-a-able. My knees hurt. My back. My bp was making a habit of running high, while my energy levels stayed beyond low. I felt like absolute crap. So I decided to try something else, something I never dreamed I could actually receive. I tried diets, over the counter WL pills, and even a prescription strength (which only caused my underlying heart palpitations- TERRIBLE and scary.) I had my gastric sleeve surgery on Monday, March 23, 2026. I researched the doctors and facilities before becoming a patient and found them to be highly regarded. I have been treated professionally and respectfully since my first day of contacting them (back in mid-January) Their communications are great and do not leave you wondering about anything Surgery day was a great experience. My decision to have the gastric sleeve was on a whelm in all honesty. I had initially wanted to try injectable medications but realized they were not covered. My fiancé and I met with Dr. Curry and he discussed the process of the sleeve and I found out my insurance covered it at 100% we decided I should just go ahead and do it. The process went very smooth everyone was amazing and really nice. I had my surgery July 1st 2024 and as of today I'm down 96 lbs and counting. My surgery went smoothly and although I had severe nausea and vomiting (no fault of the surgeons) a month after I was feeling 1000% better. If I had to do it all over again I would do it all over again but sooner.
