My husband and I went back here for dinner for my bday last Wednesday, 11-26. Since it was the day…read morebefore Thanksgiving, it was very slow. We were seated immediately. It seems as though it was just 2 ppl working the front...which wasn't bad, but it did make things slower...even though they weren't busy...but we weren't in a rush. I ordered the salmon with fried oysters and shrimp...so I thought! It was only 1 fried oyster and 1 shrimp...yep you heard it right...ONE!! LMBO!! Who does that?...I guess they do! The one oyster was soooo good!! I actually didn't know what it was when I ate it...I've never had a fried oyster before...well at least not that I can remember and it was GREAT!! The Hubs got fried shrimp w/ a crabcake and rice. He said it was good also. We will go back again and will want to try to other locations in the near future.

I liked the name and the cuisine. Pretty good reviews, but if you've been on Yelp as long as I have, you know that standards vary greatly. And Virgils was no exception! Food was excellent! Deviled Eggs, Corn Bread, Sunday Plate, Grouper, and Seafood Platter. Undeniably Good. Service. Undeniably Bad! Muy malo! If you have to sit at the bar even when you have reservations. No bueno! If you have to flag someone down to get them to take your order. I am looking for an alternative option. If you charge a 20% service fee for services not rendered. Shame on you. "People will never forget how you made them feel". Well in a nutshell, not very valued. Having been in the restaurant industry of over 17 years, I have the perspective being on both sides, I would say service is the part severely lacking at Virgils.

I went with the intent of trying their vegan bean burger which was the only option on the menu via their website, however that is no longer served. Good news is that there is a Gullah bowl option for vegans. The Gullah bowl was delicious especially when topped with the peach vinaigrette dressing. The other members in my party thoroughly enjoyed the whiting and catfish dishes which they found to be well seasoned, the steak cooked to perfection, and the fried green tomatoes which one member in my party stated that they were the best she'd ever tried. The food came out quickly, no long wait. The only criticism is that the fried okra had no seasoning. Other than that, the food was good, service was great. I'd visit again.

Arrived at 12:15 and I was the only one here. Thought it was closed. Was seated quickly and the server came by quickly to get my order. I like the feel of the place. It felt clean and plenty of seating. She brought out honey glazed muffins as a starter. They were good tasted like carrot cake muffins. Not bad. The shrimp and catfish were great! Would give 5 for the lunch but the server never came back to check until I was leaving. And to give me my bill. So overall I give it a 4. But would return just for the catfish and shrimp.

First timer! I saw a TikTok post with rave reviews about the food and vibe. I screenshot the…read moreaddress and noted it on the list of restaurants I would like to visit. This location is The Man Cave. There is outdoor seating if you prefer fresh air. As we walked in we were greeted by Ms. Pat. She was very sweet and attentive. She informed us they have been there a year and invited us to come back for the New Years celebration. The interior is larger than it looks from the outside. There are booth seats that line the wall with maybe 30 small tables that have a chair. The booth seats are red with black tables/chairs. There is a small stage upfront possibly for the band or artist that sings. It's not large enough for a full band. There is another space for the hostess on the other side. The bar area is towards the rear where maybe 6 or 7 can sit. Ms. Pat took our order shortly after being seated. I ordered collards, yams, fried okra and 4 fried whole wings. You get a meat and 2 sides but I was being greedy! . My husband ordered dressing, smoked ribs, yams and cornbread. I enjoyed my lunch. The chicken wings were very small and that's how I like them. No one wants wings on steroids! Fried crispy and golden. Perfectly seasoned! The collards were delicious. Seasoned with smoked turkey. Okra was delicious fried just right. Crispy! The yams were not too sweet just right. My husband ordered the dressing bc Ms. Pat noted it was a favorite amongst the other guests. He wasn't too crazy about it but it was ok. The ribs were not seasoned enough. The sauce covered the meat so you were not able to really taste the "rib" but it was ok. He says he would not order again. The yams were perfect as I stated earlier. We were offered the Peach Cobbler but since we both had yams we declined the cobbler. Overall, we enjoyed it. Will come back and try other items on the menu. It is a very casual setting. If you want to dress up, go for it but the vibe is very casual. They are closed on Monday.
