I got the combination pizza that tasted almost exactly like a frozen pizza brand I shall not name. Crust was thin and crispy and didn't have a lot of flavor. Wife had the BBQ pork which was good but nothing to drive out of our way for. The star here was the cheesy bread. This is what I would have liked the crust on my pizza to have been! Light, fluffy and flavorful. I found myself picking the pieces with little to no cheese as the bread was amazing! I won't be back as it is out of the way but if you like thin, crispy pizza this place may be for you.

Paid for the buffet got my plate and when I went to the hot table, there were only four trays there. One was the ubiquitous chocolate pizza which and another was a combination of two types of pizza they had combined. None were fresh but I did manage to put together a small plate hoping that by the time I had finished, a fresh one would come out. This mirrors my prior experiences. I am a longtime patron of the Village Inn chain and have regular eaten at both Statesville locations and when they were open, locations in Mooresville and Cornelius. Even the smaller location on the Westside of Statesville will normally have at least 7 trays of pizza. I addition I ordered an unsweetened Iced Tea which is self-serve, but the canister of Unsweetened Iced Tea had so much Sugar in it, if I had tried to stick a spoon in it, it would have remained erect with any assistance. Granted that I have mobility issues and have to walk with a cane, when I tried to put my plate down so that I could get the tea, the went plop onto the floor. At this time, I chose to walk out the door even though I had already paid for my lunch. I will continue to patronize Village Inn but not this location.

The pizza we got yesterday was a normal pepperoni pizza, no pretzel crust, no cheese sauce. Didn't find this out until we already drove home. Figured it was a mix up, but we still like the normal pep pizza okay so a slight bummer but no big deal. Today we thought we'd try again cause we really were looking forward to the pretzel pizza. The pizza we got was normal again, no pretzel crust. We thankfully checked before we left the parking lot and went back in to ask about our pizza. The cashier said they were out of pretzel crust and pretzel salt, but they made no move to call and inform us of this when we first made the order or even when we came to pick it up. Probably hoped that like yesterday, we wouldn't notice/care. No refund was offered despite the pretzel crust being a dollar more expensive than normal crust. Scammed twice in a row by a company whose ethics I'd usually rave about. Very disappointed.
