JC is an exceptionally talented interior designer. I hired JC for an extensive remodel, and it was the first time I had worked on such a large-scale project. She was on board immediately, starting with the architectural design. She helped with critical decisions such as rearranging the floor plan, roofline, kitchen layout, windows, skylight placements, etc. She has a fantastic eye for color and textures and singularly worked on tile selection for bathrooms, fireplaces, hardwood floor color, kitchen cabinet color scheme, and the sourcing involved. Where JC shines is in creating mood boards. These helped me understand the overall feel of the interiors. She gets product availability timelines and your budget constraints, and I completely trusted her judgment on scale/proportion and product selection. I found JC to be super nice and friendly and quite a cool gal. I asked her to help me furnish my living room from scratch. But when she sent me the mood board with the wrong person's name and didn't even wait to get the ideas emailed from me and my husband, I was surprised. I contacted her and she stated she would work with me but still charged me quite a bit for a design that I really did not like. I then sent her some modifications and she continued to drag her feet in a response and then told me she would charge me quite a bit more for the changes. As I was getting frustrated on delays, I went ahead and ordered a couch that she recommended. When I received it, the color was very bright and different from that on the website. She asked me if I had ordered a fabric swatch beforehand and I hadn't because I thought that's what someone who charges $200 per hour already confirms. I have shown the design to several friends and family trying to get some positive feedback that all my money wasn't wasted and that I could still pursue buying the other items. We contacted Ricco Style requesting help with paint colors on very short notice. We were very fortunate that Victoria was able to help us on our schedule. Since we only had sheetrock up, she had to make recommendations based on the samples we had for various finishes... flooring, cabinets, granite, marble and tiles. Not having worked with interior decorators before, we were nervous and unsure. Victoria was able to make recommendations very quickly and we decided to take a chance and use her suggestions after putting up samples. To get to the point, everything came out great. The colors for the open concept Kitchen/Living room, the rest of the house, the Master Bedroom and bathrooms pulled everything together and we love the results! This is my big, happy THANK YOU hug to JC. I have been so fortunate to have had her guidance now over the last 5 months or so as I've been trying to bring my house back after 'letting it go' a bit while my kids were very young. She is all that the reviews say and more. She is efficient, she comes with ideas, she assesses well. And when she's done my mind is 'swimming' a bit but I've got a list of things to get done and guidance on how and where to do it. I could name 10 reasons why she is worth calling versus trying to do it on your own, but I'll highlight a few: 1. PAINT colors, she just knows. Its so much better than going to the paint store 3 times, painting parts of a room and trying to assess over a day or so if you've got the right color and still wondering. Its like watching a magician... how do you know JC, are you sure? And yup, she knows. :-) 2. I think if you've lived with furniture and things for awhile, you need a fresh pair of eyes to help you see how it can change... that is exactly how she helped me: keep this, change this, buy this, move this... and thank you JC, I just didn't see it that way, that is what I needed. 3. New and great places to buy things, duh right, but so great to have alternative places to look versus just PB, Crate and Barrel, World Market. And not that she doesn't use and know those places too (and she is certainly conscious of costs and budget so no ego about where you buys things) but she has expanded my options of where to look. 4. I'm returning less, which I love. I just don't quite 'see' things as well as JC so my 'modis operadis' has been to buy say 4 rugs (or throw pillows, bedspreads, anything), put them in the room, look at them for a day or so (or sometimes 5 minutes) and say, 'nope, that's wrong' and then go through the hassle of returning it. 5. She is very thoughtful about helping put together a 'kid friendly' house, not even 'kid friendly, more like 'kid fun'. JC has young kids of her own and she understands the extra challenges and doesn't dismiss them, she helps and makes sure that part works, so the whole family can enjoy the house together (lots of pillows and cushions for kid-forts :-)), and I appreciate that very very much. And as other reviews have already mentioned, I do like the way she works, its maybe a 2 hour meeting and a lot gets done, plus you are set up to do the work yourself, which is the right way for a person like myself that needs to be involved in details. And lastly, she is just fun and its happiness to see her. An absolute necessity! Jenny was so kind as to help my boyfriend and I refurnish and design our Santa Monica apartment.. all via FaceTime! And on a FRIDAY NIGHT! Within ten minutes she had an exact replica of our living space just from loose measurements and video chat. We were completely clueless about what we were looking for; all we knew was that we hated our current furniture and liked a "beachy" atmosphere. Through few, specific questions, Jenny had put together a mood board that matched our style to a T. We loved every piece of furniture that she picked out. What I was most impressed with was the Design Plan that she sent along with the Mood Board. We moved into our second home from our starter home in July. Furniture was everywhere and things that used to fit in our other house didn't fit in this one so I began my search for help. I came across JC's services and read through some of the reviews and was sold that she would be the one that I can count on. The first time she came over, we spent 2 hours together and we went through every single room from furniture places, accent pieces, art, and paint colors. We have a 3/2 house and it wasn't very big but to get through that much info and details in 2 hours was beyond amazing to me. Like another reviewer mentioned, I didn't feel lost or overwhelmed by the amount of work to be done, I felt inspired and was excited to get it moving along. Fast forward 2 months, we had gotten through 80% of the items from our initial meeting. But now that our living room project was completed (we had built in bookshelves built around the fireplace and refacing the fireplace with new stone). The new living was transformed into the modern era, however, lack a little personal touch so again I reached out to JC for help. She came over last friday and we spent a little over 2 hours this time. Again I'm amazed at this woman's speed and things she is able to accomplish in such a short amount of time. We went to Home Goods for accent pieces for the book shelves, pillows, art for the room, and Barnes and Noble for some books that would accent the room but are also intellectual pieces. As we were perusing down the ailes, JC began picking out items that would fit the decor/color scheme of the room and it was clear that she had a vision of what she was trying to achieve. When we got back, she laid out the pieces and it just all fell into place. It was amazing because with just a few knick knacks and pillows, the living room was transformed. It was warm, cozy, and inviting. And all within budget. I didn't tell her what my budget was but i was pleasantly surprised it came below that! I came across JC's work through a friend, and decided I would utilize her talents to help me furnish my "408 Bachelor Pad." As a typical 30 year old male professional, I had neither the time nor the talent to take this on by myself, and JC was exactly the expert I needed to turn my empty house into the perfect home. All I had was a television and a bed, and left the rest to her. I can't tell you how many texts and pictures she sent while on the road searching for the perfect couch, rug, coffee table, etc. I learned she is on a constant search for all of her clients, but really made me feel like I was the only one she was working with at the time. JC is amazing!! She truly cares about her clients and she offers an incredible service. JC is so warm and friendly. After our first meeting in my home, I felt like she was a close friend of mine! JC has a very gentle way of offering her ideas and suggestions. She is a great listener and works very hard to make your home functional for your family's needs. JC picked out beautiful paint colors for my home. She also spent lots of time helping me pick out a rug, lamps, a chandelier, etc. I really appreciated how she was always available to answer my questions through email. I am a very practical person--I've had all the necessities to live in a house yet all of these years it never felt like a home. I felt that something was missing and no matter how much I tried to make it "nice" and organized "stuff" ended up everywhere. It's been truly chaotic and I think that living in an unorganized space makes you feel that way. Kinda like you are what you eat; but instead "you are how you live?" I had the pleasure of tapping into Jen's vision for my son Axel's nursery. We decided on a Cat and the Hat theme where she hand painted beautiful murals on the walls around my furniture. The attention to detail was mind blowing. It was delightful to see my older son (2) light up with joy and excitement from her artistic ability. I have lived in my house for 7 years and have done very little decorating (it is not something I enjoy). A friend referred me to JC's services to help make decorating decisions and give advice. JC spent 2 hours going through my house and listening to my vision (or lack there of). During this time, she took measurements, wrote notes, captured measurements, took pictures and selected the perfect paint color for the baby's room in just 2 minutes! (this would have taken me months!) After the initial consultation, JC emailed me a complete design plan with a to do list and a list of things to purchase. I am currently working my way through the list and loving the outcome. When my budget changes, JC emails me budget friendly solutions (e.g. DIY fabric covered headboard, spray painting hardware, inexpensive drapes). In addition, she found bedding for the baby's room, texted me pictures of things to buy at Home Goods, "approves" all purchases that I find on my own, and emails periodically to keep me motivated. We were both short on time so she spent about 1.5 hrs at my place. She immediately tapped into the style/mood I want to create, took some measurements and made suggestions throughout. When I began to furnish my new home, I knew that I wanted to do most of the leg work myself. I wanted to make the major design decisions and to search for and pick out the individual pieces myself. However, since I had no experience with furnishing a house from scratch, I felt like I needed expert input to make sure that my choices would come together as a consistent, cohesive interior design. JC was exactly the expert that I needed. Before our first meeting, JC suggested that I find pictorial examples of interior designs that I like. When she arrived, we reviewed these examples and discussed what I liked about each one. Quickly, she developed a general sense of what I was looking for. Then we went from room to room, and we she suggested different design choices based on what we discussed. We traded ideas back and forth, and she gave really thoughtful feedback on some of my ideas. By the end of the hour, I had a pretty good idea of what needed to be done. We arrived at a plan that was concrete enough for her to give me some design guidelines, but open enough for me to fill in the blanks to suit my own tastes. For example, we discussed which furniture pieces should be consistent with one another, what dimensions were appropriate, and how to add appropriate texture to the various rooms. She then gave me specific examples of furniture that would fit the bill. She charged me a very fair rate for an hour's worth of work. But afterwards, we remained in email contact. I asked additional questions of her. I showed her pictures of furniture that I was considering. I continued to solicit her advice, and she did not charge me for any of this followup work. I got exactly the expertise I wanted for a price far below what i thought I might have to pay for interior design help. She is excellent, and I do plan to use her again when get around to the finishing touches. read more

I had a great experience working with Victoria at RICCO Style earlier this year. She was super responsive from the start, and she seriously had the BEST ideas for different rooms in my house that I was stumped about how to fix up or where to place furniture, etc. She spent a few hours at my house going through my wish list, and I loved the design plan that she came up with. It was beyond helpful to have everything laid out room-by-room on a spreadsheet with clickable links to each item she recommended purchasing. I was able to go through and pick and choose what I wanted to order at what time, and she did beautifully working within my general budget. I don't even know what to call my "style," but whatever it is Victoria got it, and got me. If I waited too long to purchase something that was no longer available, she was great about sending me a new link to something similar. When I remodeled my bathroom this summer and panicked about the paint color I chose, she came over with her paint chips and picked the perfect color for me. I was referred to JC from a friend. My husband and I are expecting our first child and really want to get our house in order before our little one arrives. We initially wanted JC to show us some ways to better organize our home, but JC gave us so much more. She came over for just under 2 hours and went through our condo with me, room by room. My mom moved from a 2000 square foot condo to a one bedroom apartment in a senior community.
