And because the entire street already turned to ice they had to pre salt first to soften it. They also post salted and were sure to not block any driveways. No matter how compacted the snow/ice is, they have the machinery necessary to get it cleared. Snow turning to ice on roads is very dangerous. I should have done my research before hiring.. So we originally hired Colin to put up a fence which…read morehe did. So since he did such a good job on that, we thought since our backyard needs done to, might as well use the same guy. BIG MISTAKE! We signed a contract for old concrete removed and replaced, retaining wall, and leveling the backyard (removing old bricks and junk). After 4 weeks of waiting with him showing up to work by himself 95% of the time we would go out to help here and there to try and get it moving. In the mean time I wanted it done for an event we were having at our house and was reassured it was going to be done. Good days would go by without him showing up to prepare for the concrete, no retaining wall started and the backyard is a dirt pile now. When we finally had enough my husband text him to make sure it's not to big of a job for him and he said no. Come to find out that he's only done sidewalks and nothing as big as a patio. Concrete day finally arrived, which was a week after our event at our place, and my husband was also reassured he would be here with guys to help. Well guess what, him and only him. So to get the job done my husband had to help get it set up which on an 80+ day happens very fast. The concrete wound up looking like crap because him and my husband got into an argument when Colin had to state after paying him $2300, more than half the contract amount, that we still owed $1250 for the concrete. He was told to leave when he started blaming my husband for the way things turned out because "he offered to help". Make sense? No. My husband did concrete for well over 10 years and stopped because of his back. To make sure it was done right, he offered to help because Colin would show up alone, alot. Never took responsibility for what he had to do and blamed everyone else. Paid for 80+ paver stones but only received maybe 40. Wall was being made because our dirt has been inching towards our neighbors fence. Needless to say it's worse when you put 4 inches of stones under one layer of paver stone which makes the vinyl fence bow more. Never again. Save your money and hire someone that knows what there doing.
