I chose American Landscaping based on an interaction with the owner, Karen, and the quality of the actual estimate. I was not disappointed at all. Matter of fact, the crew went above and beyond on the cleanup. From dealing with Karen to the men who came on the property to perform the work. Great service all around. Was it the lowest price? No, but I never tend to buy low bid for something that involves danger to my property, the people working, or my neighbor's property. All the estimates were within 10% of one another, for whatever that is worth. Already talking with American Landscaping for our next project!

I inquired about some bamboo removal and landscaping in Mclean , Va. Douglas, owner of Vann Landscapepes returned my call within 24 hours and apologized he did not do so earlier. I did not listen to VM, but read bad trascript, opted to further inquire via e mail. Owner, again, took time from his work, to promptly reply stating that he is only licenced in MD. a)PROFESSIONAL, COURTEOUS, TAKES TIME TO REPLY EVEN THOUGH HE WILL NOT EARN MONEY. THIS IS WHAT SEPARATES VAN LANDSCAPES FROM THE BELOW. b) several other contractors in VA and MD, failed to reply. Cognizant of fact that it is not only busy season, but busy decade for landscapers. However, i learned long time a go not to BEG ANYONE TO GIVE THEM MY MONEY. Furthermore, the economy is full of business cycles. And do happen. Matter of time. Then these non responders will be sending fliers out "we are doing some work in your neighoborhood and can give you a great deal". In the meantime, many intersections in NOVA are full of day laborers wanting a chance to earn a buck to send back home. As such, Mr. and Ms. Landscapers, i do have options, and will await your fliers in 3-5 yrs when the economy turns and will be willing to pay you the minimum wage to do landscaping. IN the meantime save as much as you can for the unforeseen future.

Recently, I hired them for a much larger project that included major culvert repair, removing four trees, stump removal, installing a beautiful new patio, creating a stone bed under my deck, laying fresh sod, forming a new garden bed, and maintenance on existing beds. From start to finish, the experience was outstanding; the results exceeded by expectations. The team was professional, timely, and incredibly hard working. Their dedication to quality showed in every detail, and they kept me updated throughout the process, so I always knew what was happening. They were also a pleasure to work with, friendly, responsive, and committed to getting everything just right. I could not be happier with how everything turned out and I am already looking forward to our next project together. I recommend Togo Landscaping and Hardscaping without hesitation.

He then proceeded to insult my ability to DIY and gave off a level of arrogance akin to "If you even flinch at the ballpark you aren't the type of client I am looking for."
