Walk by a couple of porta potties and a small castle shaped gate; it is on the side of the baseball field. The playground is on mulch and had many playscapes; swings, slides, ladders, etc. There were benches in the middle and along the perimeter; there were a few picnic tables as well. It was a cool and rainy day so some spots were muddy. My child's favorite playscape was the one on a sandbox; it has shovels and shoots to put the sand into. This is the first time seeing something like it and we were a fan. There were so much space for kids to run around in. Overall a great neighborhood playground! The people that live nearby are lucky to have this.

The hike to the monument and scenic vista point on the paved road trail (one-way) can take up to 30 minutes if not longer. There is a (sort of short-cut) trail that goes through the woods that has rocky steps and is a rigorous hiking route. It was a nice weather day and a perfect way to work-off the delicious New Haven pizzas we ate beforehand. We enjoyed our visit here while checking out the beautiful scenic views and the monument. I am not giving it full five stars because the park lacked proper direction signage for the trail(s) and as far as I could tell, I did not find any bathrooms or port-o-potty services.

Not to mention the mufflers were very loud. As a person who gets overwhelmed easily and gets sensory overload and walks alone a lot, it's scary for me and anything could have happened to me if I were the only one there. So after I took a few quick pictures, I walked quickly to keep up with the only small group of people who looked safe to me. I personally think there should be a little police booth at the top and more security in general. I think everyone deserves to be able to feel safe!

It has a well sized parking lot, enough to accomodate all the people that were picnicking that day. We were there for access to Naugatuck State Forest, which you can access from the Raptor Trail in the corner of the athletic fields. Overall, this is a nice park to enjoy, the only thing I would improve would to be to add a few more shaded picnic tables. The other thing to be aware of is that there's a gun club adjacent to the park, so be prepared to hear a lot of gunfire while you're there.

It was part of the Sunday in the Park gathering. That Italian ice was heavenly. There were a great amount of activities for kids, music, etc. Felt a bit out of place though as most people here had that wealthy vibe. As if they only shop at Whole Foods and pour any excess money into the landscape of this park. Regardless, I did score a bouquet of fresh blooms (that I purchased) snipped from the gardens for a great price. This place would seem to be an awesome backdrop for a family photo shoot too. Such an absolutely gorgeous park that I found by accident. I was looking for something to do to get…read morein my evening cardio, and drove across a bridge that had a beautiful lake below. Made a quick uturn and spent the next two hours enjoying this completely paved and awesome park. There is about a 4-5 mile fully paved path, with mountain biking paths adjacent to it, as well as wooded paths. You'll see VERY friendly swans, geese, and ducks (please don't feed them), plenty of squirrels, and the occasional tiny bird running away from you. The are several grass lined bridges that make you feel like you're inside a fairytale, but be careful as they run very low to the water, and are extremely soft in some places. There are steps at various points that lead you back up to the main road at random points, and at the very end you'll happen upon a cool ass skate park. Lover this park so much and will use it as my walking spot going forward!

I went in winter and not only did it look barren as one might expect, but it felt really sketchy!! Cars with missing license plates, homeless people, etc. It didn't feel like a safe area at all, and I later learned it wasn't. On the way home from this park outside The Little Black store I even literally saw the man who had stolen my amazon packages the day before, in plain sight and not apprehended by police. Very dangerous area.
