The 16,000-square-foot playground was made possible by a $400,000 fundraising campaign. The playground is named for John "Bodie" Vaccino", a local Milford boy who was born with cerebral palsy. When he was younger, his parents took him to a boundless playground called Hannah's Dream in New Haven. Bodie was able to play with his sister, Emma, as if he had no limitations. His parents then set a project in motion to bring a similar playground to their hometown of Milford. They didn't want a playground just for children with disabilities, but rather a community play mecca for kids of all abilities. The playground was designed by John Hollerbach, owner of Creative Recreation, who has worked on other projects associated with the nonprofit Boundless Playgrounds. An adjoining splash pad opened in July 2018. My family and I recently visited Bodie's Place Playground while we were on our summer break from school. My wife and I are always looking for good playgrounds for our sons, and we heard lots of great things about Bodie's Place. The playground actually features 2 large playscapes: one intended for younger children (ages 2-5) and another intended for older children (ages 5-12). We thought that both playscapes were equally impressive. After our sons played on them for a while, they changed into their swimsuits and headed on over to the equally impressive splashed. Both of our sons had a blast! I must also note that there are plenty of amenities at the park, including bathrooms, pavilions, picnic tables and benches available at the park. We highly recommend Bodie's Place Playground to families with small children and look forward to returning!

The park is almost 300 acres of beach, dunes, salt marsh, and woods. You can beach, swim, fish, walk along the beach or boardwalks, birdwatch... (FYI: alcohol is prohibited, so this is a beach for families, relaxing, and no-alcohol fun.) It's free for in-state registered vehicles. If your car or rental car is not registered in Connecticut, it costs $22 on weekends or holidays and $15 on weekdays (or $112 for a season pass). We couldn't stay long (the downside of a roadtrip with a planned out itinerary), which was too bad, because the beach was very nice! Crowded, perhaps, but what beach isn't on a hot July day?! I could've stayed a while with an umbrella for shade, a book, and a picnic! A lovely public beach.

Plenty of parking and beach area to walk or relax on. You can walk to the Audoban land from a part of the beach which is a level and easy walk that offers great views and a view of the Stratford Point Lighthouse. There are several pavilions for rent get togethers. There are resident and non residents seasons passes or a daily charge (more for non residents). There is also an adjacent golf course. it is a livelyovely setting and quite sure it's very popular and packed during the summer season, but opened all year long.

The price was very affordable compared to other play gyms. For 3-5 yr olds, the facility was very suitable. They even have a cute virtual reality game that the kids loved. We planned the party pretty late so the only time slot for that day was 5pm. We were given 2 hours and each child gets tokens for the specials ( virtual reality, bumper cars, etc). Kids must wear socks. Parents/ Adults are not allowed on the bounce equipment. There are a few benches for sitting that keep you in close proximity to keep an eye on your little. Most parents just stand along the side. They also have a few table and chairs in the arcade game area. My only issue was parking. It is located in a small shopping mall and down a little hill. It's quite serene to be able to look out at the marshes on one side and the beach on the other. The paths are well groomed. Be sure to go inside if you can. There are some other animals to see in tanks as well as a library of kids books. There's also a great view of the marsh with a few telescopes, as well. There was someone working here at the time we visited, and she also brought out some coloring pages. Definitely worth checking out if you're near by and want a change of pace.

Only other con is the place is very dark inside so it's hard to keep an eye on your kid at all times.

The Park is super clean and well organized. The staff did an amazing job of working with our 8th graders. They were excellent with our teens. You can tell the staff was well prepared and super friendly. Some of the activities we played were 1. Go karts, 2. ZIP lines, 3. Laser tag, 4. Ropes course, 5. Bumper cars, trampolines, 6. Dodge ball and 7. Virtual reality game. There was so much to do. All day our kids had huge smiles on their faces. I highly recommend this place to anyone with kids, I am sure they will have a great time.
