Besides that, I spent 8 years of my life as a full time realtor dealing with mortgage brokers everyday. Insomuch to say, I'm quite familiar with the process. Thinking back on years of transactions, I honestly cannot recall any mortgage professional going to the lengths that Mike did to make this process easy and comfortable for us. I never even had to leave my house! Mike came and picked up all the paperwork from us and discussed our options right at our dining table. During the refinance I was able to go on two vacations without fret as esigning made it possible for us to each give necessary signatures along the way right on our smartphones! It also was reassuring that Mike was so readily available by text or phone and his assistant was quick to email as needed. I was delighted that we got to do our final signing appointment also right at our dining room table. I felt that the rates and fees were reasonable if not better than average and appreciated that Mike leveled with me on different concerns that I had and that in the end all promises were met, all costs were just as expected and there were no surprises. Prior to application I had fretted because I knew that we weren't "typical" customers and that we would require more documention and "proof" than others due to the nature of our income. Getting approval for our loan and the company's preparation of closing documents took an enormous amount of time! Finally we signed on the last day of our Real Estate Purchase Contract Agreement, but it turned out documents had been prepared with the wrong closing date, making all documents invalid. Thanks to our Realtor going to bat for us, the documents were redrawn and we did close but with only minutes to spare! Overall, we found the loan process frustrating but figured ours was probably an exception and not the rule. When our daughter and her husband wanted to refinance their home recently, we recommended they work with a local lender. Because of his reputation, we recommended they talk with Shane. A few frustrations were encountered by them as well. FIMC didn't lock her in on the first day, even though they had said YES to the loan, so by the time they did the lock a few days later, the rate had increased. The "loan file" changed hands multiple times and as a result she was asked to submit the same documentation multiple times because of it. (We also had that same type of experience with our loan!) Days would go by without her questions via email being answered or getting a response to messages left by phone. Within a month after contacting First Security Bank loan department and a hassle-free experience, their loan was approved and they got the type of financing they desired. I commend Shane for contacting me regarding my review and wanting to set things right. Maybe our experiences were just difficult cases beyond their control. I guess time will tell.

This guy went so far above and beyond to help us secure our dream house. From helping us with our approval to spending time on the phone with the sellers to assure them we were solid if they accepted our offer . . . it is DAVE we credit with the sellers choosing us to buy their house.
