Very delicious!! Smells so good and taste even better! You have to pay extra for guac and pico. The restaurant is nice if you want to dine in but we got ours to go. The staff was very friendly! I would definitely come back if I lived in the area.
Stopped into Jose's Tacos today for the first time and it was the best decision I've had this week! I got the Quesabirra Dinner and a Horchata to-go and it was a 10/10. Best Horchata I've ever had. The staff were friendly, patient, and helpful during my ordering process, which I really appreciate. The inside area has seating if you want to dine in and benches if you order take out. Anyone that's shopping in Eastern Market, I recommend trying this place!
Awesome, authentic tacos for a really reasonable price! Great service too! Had chips, guac, salsa and 4 tacos (including steak and shrimp!), with an upgrade to all 5 taco toppings for a grand total of $19. Yum! I'll be back!!!
We stopped by for a quick bite and it was really good! The staff were friendly and welcoming, explained all the toppings available and it was really quick service! Very clean inside and the decor was really awesome! My potato taco was great, awesome flavor and texture and the spicy salsa was amazing. My husband liked his asada taco too, but felt it could've used some more flavor. Overall it was great and I would come back.
stopped into jose's for the first time because i was craving some tacos and wanted to try!! i got the quesabarria dinner and it was amazing!!! very fresh and VERY fast even with a line!! the inside was cute and welcoming too:) will return!!
In eastern market so expect to wait on a Saturday in the summer. Super good enchiladas and beans and rice. They also have a take out place downtown but not sure if that's still there.
In my top 3 finds this year! We had a spectacular experience from start to finish. The Inside is full of life- colorful, bright, and cheery. The service was attentive, friendly, and generous. The waitress offered us samples of the Agua Fresca flavors so we could make our decision, which was so sweet! We ended up going with tamarind and pineapple. The food was outstanding: fresh, flavorful, crisp where it was supposed to be and soft where it was supposed to be. The Birria meat melted in your mouth! Everything was fun and flavorful without being over the top. The potato taco was really different- a bit like a spiced potato pancake inside a taco. All the tables were clean, as was the restroom. The other big thing is that it truly felt family owned- there was a sense of love and coziness in the air. This is the perfect oasis after a stop at the eastern market, or as a destination pick! Can't wait to go back!
I love the food here! It's authentic Mexican and family owned. The lady's are so nice and has exceptional customer service. The restaurant is a little small and unfortunately there's not a lot of seating during lunch but if you come when they open or after lunch, it's great. I love the outdoor seating. It's very relaxing.
I was so excited to hear that Jose's Taco's opened a second location at Eastern Market, because their my favorite local Mexican food spot. I discovered their downtown location off Grand River by accident many years ago and have been a fan ever since. I was able to have breakfast here on Saturday morning after a day of shopping at the Market for flowers and such. They have a great menu, and it's really hard to go wrong with what they serve. I went with the Huervos Rancheros for breakfast and it was delicious. I was tempted to get their tacos but wanted to try something different on their menu. I was not disappointed! Prices here are fair and there's plenty of seating within. While it's not a fancy place, the foods good and that's what matters. Make sure to pay cash to save the extra fees on cards that I think they *might* charge if used. Also, their closed on Sunday's, so go sooner than later!
Great location in Eastern market. The Travis with crispy flour tortilla are yummy! Good rice & beans. Very friendly service.
Family gave food excellent reviews. We do not frequent Detroit a lot but maybe we should start. Food came fairly quick on a nice May Day.
It's so hard to find good tacos in Metro Detroit and Jose's always hits the spot. Perfect before/after strolling through Eastern Market.

Friendly authentic vibe, great street tacos, reasonable prices. Not Tex Mex. Beef enchiladas were spiced just right. Lovely Hispanic girls run the front, all working very hard and quickly with the sometimes burgeoning crowd at Eastern Market. Breakfast is good here, too. Traditional Mexican favorites like huevos rancheros and chilaquiles, eggs, pancakes and bacon served as well. All were very good. read more

2nd Time here. Definitely will return the friendly staff compliments the Eastern Market vibe The restaurant is simply yet colorful and buzzing with customers enjoying a variety of flavors. textures. Both times I was greeted immediately and seated as quickly as possible Questions about selections were answered with a smile. The hostess continued to ensure that everything went smoothly. Our waitress offered us samples of a beverage offering they made ( it was too sugary but I appreciated the sample Definitely a go back to. read more

Tucked away in Eastern Market in Detroit, this little spot delivers great taste. We ate in and out service was excellent. I was hoping to order fajitas as it is my go to dish, but the closest they come is a fajita burrito. They keep it clean and the staff works very hard. If you're in the area, I recommend you give them a try! read more
Situated in gorgeous Eastern market. The workers are nice. I've been here twice. First time I just got regular steak tacos and they were just alright. And the second time I got the carne fries which was pretty good but not the best I've had. They have a lot of stuff on the menu so maybe I'm missing out on some of the other stuff but this place doesn't stand out to me. read more

Simple but flavorful food, worth going back for! Chicken taco was my fav. of the Shrimp, chorizo and chicken tacos we got. (I won't do the crunchy taco again - it was fried, too oily for me) Tamarind water and Hibiscus water were both soooo good. Unique finds. Staff was friendly, service was pretty quick. Indoor seating looked limited. Spent about $30 for 4 tacos, with side of rice and beans , churros and 2 drinks. To help compare, Condado Taco are sort of different category. probably not very authentic, but more flavor options, customization available there. Something you would not have everyday. This was lighter... read more
Jose's Tacos is a great spot to grab authentic tacos in Eastern Market! This was waaaaayyyyyy overdue! I was happy to see dining inside was allowed (during Covid), because it is a small establishment. In the small time we were there smashing our amazing lunch I noticed they ran through a lot of carry out orders. It was very organized, with two lines: one for order and one for pick up. It was a Tuesday lunch rush. The food was very good! I took advantage of the fresh squeezed watermelon juice, which was fantastic! I haven't had it since I stayed in San Francisco back in the 90's. Super refreshing! The street tacos were tender and tasty, the meat was cubed, and they were served on 6" tortillas, so they're a little larger than the usual street taco. The rice and beans were really good! The tacos were also served with a pile of sweet caramelized onions, which was a tasty surprise! I guess this is location #2, the other one is located over by The Belt downtown. Give Jose's Tacos a try, you will always come back! read more

This time I had the Wet burrito, shredded chicken, beans, melted cheese and ranchero sauce. This was incredible the flavors are taste bud knock out. The chicken was moist and tender. The ranchero was flavorful not spicy there as grilled onion on top to bring it home. I also had my favorite menu item grilled chicken taco with white onion and cilantro doesn't sound like much but the flavor combinations are incredible. Started with chips and salsa which are very good, the chips are not greasy at all the salsa mild. Tried the Hibiscus water that was very tasty not overly sweet. The dining area is clean and service is great. read more
