First time and now a life long customer! Best roasted corn in the country! I don't know if his name is Jose or not but this guy serves up roasted corn that is piping hot and has the best flavor. Came here for the first time on a Sunday afternoon. The service was bad. No hello, or thank you. The guy taking orders didn't say a word. For the prices they charge, it's definitely not worth it - a medium corn in a cup is $5, but you have to prepare and assemble your own corn. They hand you the corn plain and they have all the ingredients out on the side which sucks because people gather around and crowd up as everyone is getting what they need. The corn itself is also not anything out of the ordinary. Not recommended and won't be coming back. read more

WHAT! I never really had Mexican roasted corn - not authentic anyway - and I never really wanted it... until I came here and realized how spectacularly good it could be. If you're more interested in Biblical Stories or Passover Sacrifice, go instead to Jose's Roasted Firstborn. Barbi has been raving about the carts and stands back in old Mexico for years, but it wasn't until Jose rocked my world with his cup of fresh roasted perfection, with the spicy topping and butter and all the good stuff piled on top (self service), that I became fully aware of its paradisical potential. If you really didn't like the Twilight Saga, go instead to Jose's Roasted Breaking Dawn. There's a reason why some of these reviews are off the charts and seem completely exaggerated. It's because the amazing taste here is so exaggerated. As in, it's so much better than you can imagine. If you prefer older actors, go instead to Jose's Roasted Rip Torn. It's just so perfect. It's probably the best corn-related product I've ever eaten, and if you put all the spices and toppings on there, you'll be left with one of the best snack meals you can get in all of Texas. All here, right here, from a little truck parked on the side of a Fiesta in the middle of the north suburbs of Houston. And if you prefer to be hairless down there, go instead to Jose's Roasted Shorn. As in scrotum. It just simply doesn't get any better than this. Come here and enjoy the very best Mexican corn you will ever eat. And if it's a movie that Barbi and I are shooting, it's probably Jose's Roasted Porn. Jose's Roasted Corn - $5 how can you go wrong - Food Stands Near Me - Houston, Texas

We were in area and found this through map search of Yelp! Don't usually do food trucks, even from 'food truck capital' (Portland, OR), but wanted a local snack while on way to airport. Saw the line and hoped for the best...and pleasantly surprised! Saw how the 'corn master at work', the corn was being roasted by the cob and then quickly shucked and shaved off to be filled by the cupful. Never tried this, so followed the buyer before to add condiments (mayo, sour cream, butter, spices) that were provided in the side of truck. Only did 1/2 recommendation, with a small size (so spoonful/squirt of each) Added some lemon and the result if a tangy, creamy mix that didn't take aways from the sweet roasted corn Definitely a good try if Texan roasted corn! read more

Jose's Roasted Corn - Corn in a cup - Food Stands Near Me - Houston, Texas

Jose!!!! Best elote in Houston, at least on the nw side. Their freshly roasted corn is what makes this place the best. And even better you have control of all the toppings your heart desires. They have sour cream, butter, mayonnaise, Lemon pepper seasoning, Parmesan, Chile powder and fresh limes!! And don't forget the super hot liquid Chile for those who can handle it!! Who would have guessed the little corn truck parked on the side of fiesta would have the best Elote in town!! This place never disappoints! Go get you some ELOTE in a cup ASAP!! read more

So good! I got the large, which I believe is a 20 ounce cup, next time I would get the small. You get the cup of corn, and then you add everything else yourself. I was the second customer of the day, I can see that people might be put off with using the communal margerine, but the mayo and sour cream are in in pump containers. Then parmesan and lime, and I did go overboard with the hot sauce. I wish I lived closer, I would be here all the time, but whenever I am in the area, I will definitely be stopping by. read more

Best roasted corn in Houston. Hands down, it's done there freshly off the roasting rack. They've got the process down to a point. You can expect to catch a line but it is worth the wait. They've set up a condiments section towards the end of the bar helping the line to keep moving once you receive your corn. read more

This place doesn't look like much, and I am actually used to the roaster being on the other side! The roaster is right up against the Fiesta grocery store on the side of the liquor store. I like how I see Jose pull the corns out of the roaster RIGHT then and there when you order, and he cuts it for you to put in the cup and I like how you can make your own combo with the condiments that he has sitting out. I DO NOT LIKE the area that it is in, though. While I was waiting in line, there was a homeless man or a panhandler literally with his hand out for money, quoting bible verse in this really hushed and aggressive tone! It was kind of scary because he was straight up STARING. It was even more scary for me because I mistook him for someone in line and got behind him and he followed me a few paces hen I got in the actual line. Thank goodness someone brought it to my attention that he was in fact NOT in line. It almost makes me not want to go back. The panhandlers on 1960 are getting worse in the area, but I do not think Jose can do anything about it... read more

BEST. CORN. EVER. My parents have been getting corn from here for the past 20-25 years. I've been having Jose's corn since I was literally a child, and always got excited when we were going to fiesta (the stand was always right next to fiesta). It's delicious, it's FRESH! Not canned corn! They use Actual corn that they toast and cut off the cob. They only accept cash. Which is inconvenient, but there's a Wells Fargo atm machine in the same parking lot--not too bad. I introduced this stand to my husband, and he's also obsessed. read more

Simple and to the point. You receive a cup of corn and you add all the toppings and extra ingredients you want.

I have been going to this food truck for over 15 years I believe. Always the best corn cups!

hands down the best corn in a cup!! It's the best and yes there is a long line sometimes but it's totally worth it!!!

JOSE, YOU ARE THE MAN. I don't live anywhere near here, but if I ever find myself on this side of town, I always plan to stop by. He's located to the right of the Fiesta along the side wall of the Fiesta. I've only tried the corn in a cup, but I love that the corn is roasted right there. And you can tell! He pulls the ear of corn right out of the smoker and prepares it for you on the spot. He has crema, butter, mayo, fresh lime, and various seasonings to add to your corn in a cup. It's so good. The corn in a cup is $3. I believe he's cash only. He also offers some other things, but when I go, all I can think about is corn. read more

Amazing! Great fresh corn either in a cup or you can request that Jose leave it on the cob. $3 for a small/$6 for a large cup or fresh roasted corn with all the fixings you could want is a great deal. The salsa in the squeeze bottle is very spicy so be careful and add a little bit to start and then go from there if you want more. The little trailer is on the right side of fiesta kind of hidden but you'll find it by the line of people waiting. I tried a piña colada raspado and that was the best raspado I've ever had! The ice was shaved thin and was very fluffy. I saw that they shave it on the spot. They store large blocks of ice in the ice container near the trailer. CASH ONLY! There's an ATM in Fiesta or you can buy a pack of gum or a drink and get cash back to avoid the ATM fee. read more

When all rave about a 5 star+ experience and someone like me comes along and anxiously awaits the same ... And it's not - It's just that pallets are sometimes different. Found Jose's ivory trailer huddled against the side wall of Fiesta Market on a Sunday afternoon. There were a few folks ahead of me and everyone was antsy with excitement. I watched how others prepared their hot roasted corn that was cut quickly into a styrofoam cup... Down the self serve assembly line I went following suit- First up was mayo (interesting, I would've never thunk), and I passed on the plop of margarine, then went in for the Sour cream (gulp), then sprinkled parm-like cheese, then hot sauce, then fresh squeezed lime juice (Hhhmm) .... I eagerly dug in but sadly, I tasted everything BUT the roasted corn... (Which is what I love) Silly me, I should've known better ... read more

if i could give it more than five stars, i would. a solid must have if you're in the area. there's always a line because the corn is that good. it will never let you down warning: the red sauce is very spicy but it's a MUST. if you're new, add a small dab and taste it before going all out. after you've had this sauce, you'll understand the magic of Jose's. read more

Been here a few times and it's soooo good! Do NOT underestimate the power of the red sauce in the bottle - it's pretty hot! The corn is fresh off the cob, into the cup for you. The toppings are all laid out in a nice spread, so you can custom make your corn in a cup! There was no line when I went but I went later at night on a weekday. He was so sweet and nice and replenished the sour cream before he made my cup. Cash only just FYI. read more

Corn so good! I like the fact that Jose actually cuts the corn fresh when you order. He has all the toppings out so you decided what you want on it. Jose's Roasted Corn - Long line even at 9:30pm on a weekday! - Food Stands Near Me - Houston, Texas

I would give this place a 10 star if possible. Roasted corn sounds so basic but it is one of my top snacks! If only this stand was closer to my house. Located in the same shopping plaza as Fiesta. Small roasted corn $3. Large roasted corn $6. I love that they use FRESH corn. The roasted corn kernels were naturally sweet and blended perfectly with all of my add-ons. For a small, I added about two pumps of mayo, two spoonful of butter, a generous amount of lemon pepper, grated cheese, and the juice of half of a small lime. For a little kick, I also drizzled some hot sauce into my cup. The combination was out of this world. Fair warning, CASH ONLY!!!! I had to search for whatever coins I could find in my purse and in the car to pay for this. It was well worth it though! read more
