In 2019, we moved into a newly built home and had an unfinished backyard. While the builder put in…read morea front yard, we weren't completely happy with their choice of plants or their locations. After doing some research, we had a few companies complete bids for landscape design and installation. Matt at Frontier Landscape Design/Build was very responsive and provided great guidance on our final design. In addition, Matt's formal education in the landscaping/horticulture area added to his credibility. Frontier's bid was competitive and they have great reviews. After signing an agreement, Matt showed up on the day he promised and completed the project on time and within budget. There were zero surprises. While our lot is fairly small, our design included running a buried NG line to two spots in the backyard, replacement of trees, transplanting of shrubs that were installed by the builder to better locations, installation of a brick patio, installation of walkways, sod, annual planting bed, and modifications to our front yard layout. In all, we couldn't have been happier. Matt coordinated with subcontractors and inspectors to keep the project moving. Finally, 10 months later, a couple of the shrubs (out of the 30+ planted) didn't survive the winter. Matt stood behind his work and is going to replace them. In our opinion, Frontier Landscape Design/Build should be on your short list for landscape work.

He is easy to work with and dedicated to his customer's wants. Even when we had forgotten something he patiently listened and offered solutions giving is the options available so we could make our decisions. His finished product was of high quality and we are extremely pleased!

These guys are great. We started off with another landscaper that ended up going out of business…read more Fortunately we only lost a little money with those folks, but we nonetheless had to start the shopping process over again. We found J&P on Yelp, and they were able to start w/in a fairly quick time frame. The crew was on time, every time. We didn't have the funds to nail down our whole project in one season, but put a good dent into the final project this year. These guys laid pavers for a pretty good sized patio for us, and we've gotten numerous compliments on how great it looks. They spent a tremendous amount of time measuring, leveling & cutting all the pavers to get them perfectly in place. The project took longer than I anticipated - but only because they spent so much time working on getting everything laid out and level. Our final project calls for a pretty good sized outdoor fireplace. In addition to the pavers, they planted some trees and threw in a couple trees for us, and they did the rough ins for the gas line once we actually get to the fireplace. We are quite pleased with our choice of landscapers and can't wait to get everything finished up.

I don't know what it is about landscape architects or deck builders, but if 50% of the companies I…read morecall even bother to return my call within a week, I consider it a win. Of the eight landscape designers I reached out to, Dave was the only one to get back to me within 24 hours. His responsiveness continued through the life of the project. That alone would be worth repeat business, as I'm sick of having to chase contractors down when I'm trying to give them money. We asked Dave to give us a bid on about a dozen individual projects in our yard and then let us select which ones to actually implement. He was happy to accommodate and patiently answered a multitude of questions. The actual job went smoothly and quickly. It started on time, there was no fuss or drama, and a few minor changes were easily accommodated while the work progressed. We plan to hire Glacier again.

Updating from my prior review and removing photos from the first job three years ago. We had a…read morefair amount of river rock we wanted removed from the side of our yard, and given the fantastic job he did before we wanted to go with Dave again. Nearly five month lead time and a crew was sent out to dig it - by hand - in nearly 100 degree heat in the middle of August. They did the best they could given the temperature and lack of oversight, but in the end the job was left 90% completed. Gatorades and freezer pops couldn't have saved them. Dave came to the door seemingly in a hurry, asked for the check and left, not checking up on the work his crew did (who also left without saying anything to us). I've already hand-dug and hauled four dump-carts full of rock with, I'm estimating, maybe four more to go. I'm happy I didn't have to do the whole thing so am grateful for that, but the stark contrast between the first job and the second had our necks feeling like we got whiplash. What happened? It's great that Glacier View has blown up, meaning more work for his crew, and it's likely that we're such small potatoes now it's barely worth scheduling us, but it sucks to be treated as an afterthought. Maybe they aren't great for repeat business. {edit}: Dave reached out offering to finish the job, and while I'm admittedly still a bit sour over the extra work I do respect how he tried to make it right. More importantly I'm satisfied with the acknowledgment of the lack of communication and a reassurance of improvement moving forward: small job or large. So, I'm increasing the rating to what it should be.
