I am the manager/President of an HOA in Boulder. I have employed Wards going on 7 years. They are professional and very responsive, especially to emergencies. If I have a question about any service from irrigation to mowing, they take the time to quickly respond. I am impressed with the crew that shows ip to do the work. They do a complete job and go the extra. I also believe they are competitively priced. read more

I would give this company MORE than 5 stars if I could! OUTSTANDING customer service. OUTSTANDING knowledge of all things landscape. OUTSTANDING "eye" for what looks good. I watched them work, as they were putting in brand new landscaping in my new-build house's yard. They took their time and put the care into it that I would have if I was doing it. SO friendly and nice, as well! Nic Queen and his crew are OUTSTANDING and I can't sing his praises enough! If you want HIGH QUALITY, then give Nic a call! read more

Too much to write! I will just brush the surface....Horrible experience!!! The most unprofessional experience, amongst other things. They cut everything down mid summer. They were supposed to clean up, and pull, etc. All they did was cut everything down, even my beautiful flowers that had just bloomed. They pulled ground cover, and didn't replace it. One of the workers was on the phone instead of working. Over $1,000 for this! Don't be fooled like we were! read more

We use Ward's for our HOA common space. They do a great job of maintaining our landscape and their PM is very responsive when we need something extra or done differently. They also do our snow removal and although a small client compared to their commercial accounts, we still get excellent service. read more

great company and staff. they do great work and attentive. love the man that drained my sprinklers He is always happy,

This is the 2nd time I have asked Wards to repair my aged sprinkler system. I have been pleased with the work and they repaired my system within my budget. The only criticism I would have is; I would have expected them to inspect my full system for any additional problems and bring them to my attention. I still have one more problem to resolve. read more

Used Wards for replacing 5 sprinkler heads and replace two solenoids. He did the job but, when I turned on the system acouple days later the on solenoid he replaced would not shut off the water. Also forgot to put the plate back on the control system. Called and was told he was booked until June 24th and could not get here until then. Since he was supposed to fix my problems and could not get here until then I could not use my system and it is getting warm out. Not pleased with answers getting from the office. Seems they do job and then forget it until they can get to it again. read more

Most of the time they do a first rate job. We have a problem with our backyard and the grass seems to be deteriorating even though we have had it aerated and fertilized each year. Just need some guidance on the situation. However, we have them do snow removal for our business and they show up and do a good job. Louise L. read more

I was happy with their work trimming a large 7 foot tall privacy hedge along my back fence last week. I realized quickly that they were the most detail oriented company around town. I've always had a hard time trying to keep this hedge level and square and coming from a long line of OCD people you can imagine how import that is! :-) Their crew of three did a great job leveling out the hedge and cleaned up all of the branches and leaves from not only my yard but also the branches that fell into my neighbor's yard too. They completed the work in just over 2 hours when it would have taken me all day. I first noticed Wards Lawn from their snow plow truck around the business I work for; Their plow driver was very meticulous ensuring that all of the snow was removed carefully from our parking lots. They look to have the nicest, cleanest work vehicles around town too........that speaks volumes to me. If they take care of their equipment you can bet that they are going to take care of your yard like it was their own. The Wards Lawn crew is very thorough and I'm will be calling them for more work this summer. read more

They've done several one time mows for me, and a bunch of weeding, and have always done a great job.

I have been using Ward's Lawn Service for the 7 years I've lived in my home for sprinkler turn on in the spring and blow out/turn off in the fall. Every year for the past several, they've hiked their prices up by $10 each time! I just paid $80 to have my sprinkler system blown out (5 zones in a small yard). Ridiculously expensive!!!! I used to pay $60 which was expensive but now it's just unaffordable. Also, two summers ago I was away for two and a half weeks so I hired them to mow my front/back yards (again, super small yard) twice while I was gone. They did it ONCE but charged me for TWO TIMES! I had to call and argue with them and eventually they took the second charge off. I'm now in search of another honest and reasonable company to do these services. Ward's, you're FIRED! read more

We've had Ward's take care of our yard for many years and have always been pleased with the services they provide. We've had fertilizing, fall and spring clean ups, sprinklers on and off, and lawn care services. They are always responsive to our concerns and do a great job. read more

I have been using Wards Lawn service for 15 years since moving into a newly constructed home in Longmont. Nic Queen provides excellent insight and estimates and really spends the time listening. When I wanted more native planting's that survive a Colorado winter and summer he provided me ideas and plans. The crew that has come out to do different yard projects over the years are always courteous, neat and efficient. I have Wards out to turn our sprinkler system off in the fall or provide necessary work on the sprinklers as well. When I call the office and speak to Jaimie, though we've never met, she talks to me like an old friend while scheduling my services or answering my questions. From the initial contact, estimate of project to work getting done it's always a pleasure working with Wards staff, they do great work and are great with customers. I will miss them as we are moving to Denver but maybe if I'm lucky they'll expand services to the south! Great local company! read more

Okay I know people are saying that the price goes up but so do expenses of running a business. I feel you get what you pay for. These guys come when they say they're going to be there. They are polite and friendly and helpful and reliable. I have always had good service and I would recommend them highly. Betsy Fox, Longmont read more

They do great work. Hard workers. Priced reasonably. They fixed another companys mistake. They had great ideas and made our yard beautiful.

Initially a good impression as they sent someone to see our property and discuss what we wanted done. We had requested 2 visits for a late fall/early winter clean up (leaves, sticks, pine needles) - one visit mid November 2015 (once leaves had fallen) and one toward end of December. We also wanted ongoing services in 2016. They then called back late October and said they could only come then (when no leaves had fallen) not in November, but would be there less time due to this and therefore less cost to us. We felt this was a bit of a waste when leaves had not come off our trees, but ended up agreeing just to get started with the company and see how they did. (Prior to this date change, at initial discussion, they gave us a 3 hour time estimate for the first fall visit. We did not need mowing but they said they use mowing to pick up some of leaves/debris. As noted above, once they moved up the date on the calendar we expected less time to be billed as no leaves down.) Anyway, they came and did NOT do our main concern, picking up small limbs/big and medium sticks wind blows down. They also mowed over them breaking them into smaller sticks that were more work for us to pick up afterward. We specifically discussed at initial meeting that they had to pick up sticks BEFORE any mowing they wanted to do, as we knew mower does not pick up anything but twigs. They said they would do this except for small sticks/twigs. So they mowed a yard that had short grass anyway, their mowers did not pick up sticks nor did their men. What they completed would take 2 men 2 hours at most, but we were willing to pay their standard 3 man hourly rate for 2 hours to give them the benefit of the doubt. But - a bill that was too high showed up soon after. We called and multiple times on the phone we expressed dissatisfaction with them for not doing the main task we wanted their help with, not doing what they said they would do, and billing for one more hour than they were actually present. (One of us was home that day but did not go outside and speak to them when they were working so they thought the home was empty.) They blatantly LIED - saying they did do something we had pictures to prove was not done, and saying they were there an hour longer than they were. They just charged the additional estimate though they did not do the work or spend the time in the initial estimate. They were phenomenally rude on the phone on multiple calls when we tried to sort it out. We highly recommend NOT using their services. Look for someone you can trust instead. read more

Awful! Very disappointed in the quality of the work, especially compared to the exorbitant prices charged. I had 3 men working for five hours. We capped the hours as they seem like they would've been all day. They didn't weed our slope in the back and just weeded up to about 4 ft high. The rest was untouched. They barely completed weeding half of our very small yard. They didn't rake or sweep at the end of their day. The mulch they put down was clumped in spots, bare in others. They couldn't tell the difference between a weed or a peony. I lost 6 established peonies. They did replace them but with infant plants which means they won't bloom for several years and I have no idea what colour or the variety these new peonies. It's not fun to come home to dirt, weeds and a giant mess if you pay premium for 5 hours. They did return a week later after I complained and finish the clean-up. Too little, too late. If you are considering these people, don't. Save your money and shop elsewhere. read more
