I am severely afraid of the dentist and the anxiety of going has kept me away for over 5 years; so naturally, you can understand how I got to the point where I would need a scaling and root planing. I called around trying to find who could be able to put me to sleep because I was afraid that I may leave mid appointment if it got too bad. I ended up here because this was listed as being covered by my insurance. A couple xrays later, it was discovered that my gums were in bad shape. This made me nervous and of course, I asked to be put to sleep. I was told that I wouldn't need to be put to sleep and that the numbness from the anesthesia would work. I was apprehensive as I've been told this by previous dentist before, only to be in pain and then to be told, "ok just a little bit longer" which I just don't respect. However, when I first met Azadeh, I told her my fears and she absolutely listened!!!! For a complete scaling and root planing, I needed two appointments. Both times, mid appointment, she stopped to ask how I was feeling and if I needed more anesthesia. The first appointment went so well, that the second time ( I went today), I told her that I didn't need that much. She was so kind but also very thorough. I could hear that she was really getting in there, BUT I barely felt any discomfort! After both appointments she recommended me a specific tooth paste because I have VERY sensitive gums. I've been using that toothpaste ever since the first appointment and can definitely see the results. I can't wait until my check up in a month. The first half of my mouth is already doing much better and no doubt, the second will be the same. Highly recommend :). . The best dental hygienist I've had thus far

Shout out to her right hand Donna and all the women at the front desk who were equally calm, compassionate, clear, reassuring, and kind. (Especially to a first timer who couldn't stop crying in the waiting room before her procedure!) Gum grafts are very technical and you want the best of the best. That's Dr. Seyedain. Not only did she go to great lengths to increase the predictability of my graft before surgery, but she also talked me off the ledge the day-of with the kind of bedside manner that's rare in a busy practice. Dr. Seyedain isn't just patient, empathetic, and an expert at her craft--she is also astoundingly generous with her cell phone number and incredibly responsive during the recovery period. She and her team make an objectively miserable thing much, much less miserable--and 100% worth a rough few weeks. I couldn't recommend Locust Street Periodontics more. Your visits will start on time, your out-of-pocket responsibility will be easy to understand (in advance!), and every touchpoint with the team will be friendly and informative. Even if you're dreading the work you need to have done (and tempted to delay a little longer!), this is the office to call when you're ready.

My dentist instructed me to have some root canal work done so I contacted Dr. Kaminsky and was told that his office could perform the work I needed. After being examined and having x-rays taken, Dr. Kaminsky agreed that his office could do the work and set up an appointment for the procedure. 2 days before my endodontist appointment I contacted the office and was told that his office had tried to email me (they wrote down the wrong email address) saying that the endodontist was concerned and wouldn't perform the root canal without a consultation. Why they hadn't called me sooner when I didn't respond to the email, I do not know. I went in an hour before the appointment to meet the endodontist. He told me that my bridgework's condition was questionable and he wanted to have a scan taken(costing several hundred dollars) so he could come up with a course of treatment. Treatment? All I came in for was a root canal. I responded that I had come in for the root canal and I would go back to my dentist to consult with him about the bridgework. He said he wouldn't perform the root canal without a scan so I left. My dentist is tops in his field with over 40 years experience along with having taught many dentists at the University of Pennsylvania's dental school. He is an artist in his field and I've had these teeth for 20 years with only one or 2 minor issues. Because of Dr. Kaminsky's office insistence on a scan and even though he hadn't seen any noticeable issues, I had him perform a scan. He informed me that my bridgework was fine and that all I needed was the root canal work that he had prescribed. Dr. Kaminsky's office had the nerve to send me a bill for the consultation. I just went in for a root canal, but was coerced into possibly signing on for an extra procedure and expensive dental work. I'm thankful that I left, but am disturbed that I did not receive one of the necessary root canals which my 2024 insurance would have covered . I have had to wait months to get the needed work done and have experienced a month of unnecessary anxiety over the thought that my bridgework was failing. The possibility of requiring very costly procedures which I think Dr. Kaminsky's office would have been glad to offer caused me more than one sleepless night.
